I do remember first time I saw the cassette Matando Güeros I think was 1994 One of my friends in Mexico brought it to school and borrowed it to me , original cassette with the booklet. Man I was scared but couldn’t stop listening it and looking at the pictures of the head and body on the train rails And was an urban legend about it, they told me that the small shop where they use to sell shirts , cassettes , poster from heavy metal the guy will sell that cassette just by order , and he stopped selling it because the guys that will buy it had an accident or something happened to them. And me after get the cassette and make a copy to myself , I got sick couple weeks later I don’t think was related to the cassette but man what a coincidence I have been listening to brujería since then and 3 concerts Juan brujo is a showman in the concerts I really enjoy them
Met Juan after a Brujeria show in Melbourne Australia and was one of the friendliest gracious international musicians my friends and I met. Stuck around for photos and a chat, was very cool!
I can relate to Juan Brujo, "Join Brujeria and you're gonna get big somehow.". I tried to start bands or jam with people and some of those people went on to be big somehow too.
If you were a latino metal head in 90's L.A for the Matando gueros era of Brujería I think I speak for most of us in that was our 'Black Album' moment. Noone else did over-the-top campy evil metal quite like these guys.
I remember hearing about Brujeria and then getting the album Matando Gueros and freaking out about the album cover. I didn't believe these were an off chute of a drug cartel, but if they were i wouldn't had been surprised.
Maybe some of them were actually small dealers. And they took inspiration not only from the news, but also from people above them, in the scale of power: it's a quite well known fact that there are people truly practising black magic, in the organized crime. Whether one believes in the existence of magic or not, the issue is that some of them do, and act according to their belief, making true victims, true casualties, true damages. BTW, i'm european, and i rememeber hearing from the news about mexican satanic cartel in my childhood, the year before Brujeria formed. No internet, back then, no conspiracy theorists all over the place, and more, in my country (Italy) only the three public channels could broadcast the news, for a law to prevent conflicts of interests. I remember them news enraging me a lot, as the real cartel actually murdered children in sacrifical rites and i basically thought "children like me are being murdered by these lowlives". Then, in my early teens, when Brujeria released "Matando Gueros" i rememebered the episode, and this is the reason why i still remember it to this day.
¡Ay! (Yo te cuido, yo te cuido) ¿Quién nos va a cuidar? Yo, el Brujo
Juan Brujo needs someone to proofread his lyrics in Spanish because now, they're sounding like they were written by a 6th grader. The Song Bruja's lyrics are laughable.
Juan Brujo is so down to earth he's really kind cool man :)
R.I.P. Juan Brujo. I was in high school in the early 90's when i first heard Brujeria, still one of my favorite bands...you'll be missed brother.

Plenty of metal bands around the time from Mexico and south America like massacre, transmetal and many more
Rip Juan brujo
This interviewer focused a lot on his singing. He said he doesn't worry about that.
It is the main idea in the interview series. You can find 90 more episodes of metal singers within the same topic.
RIP🤘🏻
Y ahora, ahora gente
Nos vamos al panteón para enterrar el Patrón
Millones de gente lo van a extrañar

I know Spanish too

Syntax terrorist 🤣🤣
Old lyrics were still full with grammar mistakes but they were enjoyable. New lyrics sound just silly...the new album is sort of disappointing.
One of the best metal vocalists there is.
Not at all. He even said bunch of times in this interview.
Viva Trump!!!!!
