Always been a Stan fan, always LOVED when JBL gave him props on commentary and absolutely love watching JBL watch and listen to Stan like he's a ten year old kid seeing Santa!

JBL this is gold! I’ve never laughed so hard in my life! I’m a huge Stan Hanson fan and as you can see from my picture he influenced me a lot. It’s from my retirement match at our Marine Corps reunion and watching you three has been a blast! Please keep doing these! Thank you, God bless and Semper Fi.

Stan accidentally turning Siri on was gold. A bit bummed that the calls took away from the story we were about to get on how he got out of having a pistol drawn on him, I need to hear what happened lol. Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw never disappoint but I don’t know if they’ll be able to top this one.

I am from Louisiana . Down here we like football . In Texas though , they breathe it . I was working installing electrical substations and drove through several towns with less than 2,000 people ( some less than 1,000 ) having a state of the art gridiron at their high schools . I can only imagine how rabid the wrestling fans were in the sixties in Amarillo .

Terry Funk RIP told a story about his dad trying to recruit Stan to be a wrestler. Stan was making 500 a month at the time and they told him he can make 500 being a wrestler. He said I don't know I'm already making 500 a month and they said no Stan that 500 a week. Stan said 500 a week well GD sign me up.

I remember the first time I saw stan Hansen was in 1990 when he beat LEX Luger for the US title. I was a big lex fan as a kid so stan Hansen scared the hell out of me. He was just so damn mean in his promos. Boy, was I relieved when lex regained the title against stan in the rematch. I caught stan late in his career but that was enough to convince me that he was the meanest and most intimidating Texan on the planet.

I really believe that when the house is small is exactly the time when you turn on the afterburners . You want those that saw it to tell their friends who didn’t go what a hot show it was . That way you built the next house to be bigger and more excitable .

The AWA is filled with so many great untold stories....really of the Gagne's blowing so many opportunities in the 80's to have a top babyface. In no way does it change their demise...but maybe, who knows, but it absolutely killed their TV product.
Of course, there's Hogan...but Rick Martel was great and him and Stan were great together and Martel surviving him would have been great. Curt was a great babyface and they finally build him up, he gets a soon to be retired Bockwinkel at SuperClash...and they do a double turn? Then they lease the belt to Lawler and Kerry Von Erich is there to become your champ at your fist PPV (and I don't care if he had issues, don't care if Jarrett had other ideas), but instead you screw him with a blood stoppage...copying the awful end of the Bash just months earlier? At almost every turn, I just don't get the thinking...unless Greg was always hoping he would take his dad's spot as top babyface and sabotaged everybody else..

My dad played ball with Stan at West Texas State. He was signed to Arkansas out of Fort Smith High on scholarship but got in trouble for a fight at a whore house in Fort Smith (was still legal at time) and then immediately got drafted to Vietnam (talk about consequences lol) upon discharge WTS recruited my dad as he still had two years left of eligibility. Ted Dibiase, Bruiser Brody, Tito Santana, Stan Hansen, etc. Lot of wrestlers played ball there. My dad was good friends with Dory Funk Sr bc of football and horse racing. He didnt care for Terry or Dory Jr. Because they were into drugs as it was known. Stan was a genuine wild man and whats not told here is when Stan bit coaches knuckles bc he had grabbed Stans facemask during practice and was jerking him around.
