Well done and thank you! These videos really help get you oriented with the plugin ahead of time. It’s always wonderful to see and hear from the masters because it really helps get you going in the right direction immediately. Waves is always a go to for me and I couldn’t be happier with their plugins and how to content!
Thank you Dave Darlington for your approach to these tutorial walk-throughs (The F6 one ios great too). They are really practical and helpful, especially coming from your seasoned expert perspective! And you got us all drooling (speak for myself at least) over that vintage outboard gear to your right, btw!
really good presentation, you should ask Dave Darlington for most of these effects because most of the other people do not make a clear presentation of a product
Whoa wait what. went to buy it, but it says that I already own it! Smh and I made a coupon code with my credit ( $13.8 ) already. Guess I'll make a video on Wednesday, and give away that coupon code. :3

Can you make a video on how to talk to a mixing enginner? Like what are common does or absolute don'ts. e.g. what if I like the overall sound of my mix already, can I say that? Like "I already like the sound of this one, so please don't go to experimental on it" and with other's things like "I'm not sure about this one yet, can you surprise me with something experimental?" or such. Is that a normal conversation to have with a mixing enginner? Or what about asking the enginner to tell you if he/she thinks there's something missing in my beat (e.g. drums aren't good or bassline is missing) before he/she mixes it? Is that a normal thing to ask? Would be sooo helpful! ✌
Relax Bro I’ll answer what I can for you. I am a professional audio engineer and producer. So in general, a mixing engineer will mix the song according to their style but it is common for the artist to provide 2-3 song examples from professional releases that give the engineer a good reference of what they’re going for. The engineer should allow for at least one revision if not several in which you can listen to the mix and provide feedback about what you like and what you think could still use some work. He will then attempt to wrap up the mix with your final input. Sometimes it takes one more revision. Then he will master your song once you have approved the mix (if you’ve hired him for both). The last bit you described in which you are hoping to get feedback on your actual beat or song arrangement, is the old school definition of “producing”. Before hiring a mixing engineer, contact your local studio with good reviews for your genre and ask them how much they charge per hour for producing. If they think you mean producing a beat clarify that you mean the true definition in which someone guides you through the whole songwriting process and helps you with your beat. You can definitely feel comfortable sharing that you believe your mix is a good example of what you’re going for. Just also make sure you trust their expertise and wait until you hear the first mix and work from there.
would It be better to get a mic that isn't sibilant but a bit too warm and then raise the frequency in certain ranges or get a more present and sibilant mic and de ess it? Iv read raising the frequencies to get it more present can cause issues with phasing. There is a mic I want to get but I feel id need to de ess it but it sounds much more vibrant and present than other neutral sounding mics which to me sound flatter and farther away
Hi. I like the plugin. However it also takes out the breath as well. If they are louder than the sibillants. The detection knob does not help in that case. Does anyone have solution? I really like the plugin but I haven't found a solution. Best regards

Hi Dave! I might have hard esses when I’m singing. I use an U87 and try to keep a distance of 10-15 cm. The esses are a little too loud. I have to lower manually them 4-5db. What do you do if the singer have hard esses while recording?
Thanks for that! But I don't understand something. Do you then 'render' the clip your reviewing? When I do, I don't hear any difference at all. If I leave the monitor on, then it changes my track to all the deleted sibilance. Thanks.
SOMEONE, back in the DAY made a analog hiss tick and pop remover. Began with a W if I remember. Worked great for playback of lp.s.........😎 Or started w/ a W.????🤔🤨🤔🙄🤯.................
I love Dave and how he explains these plug ins
So far the best De-Esser that I have in my plugin library and I have a few...
better then fab filter?
@@TzoHill for me…yes!
Better then Oxford suppressor?
I bought the NS1 and y'all gave me Sibilance free. Thanks Waves.
Thanks for the insight into how to how to use this plugin Dave. You confirmed what I already felt each of the controls does.
Just bought this plugin this morning came to here for a great lesson
Amazing video. I learned everything I needed in under 10 mins! Thank you!
Great video, thank you! ... it was nice to see your processing chain, hear your thoughts about how it all works together, ordering and so on. 💯
Thank ya!! I was about to punch my head off my neck in frustration but this helped me understand the plugin.
He ssspeaks with a lot of sibilance 😂, cool plugin and great tutorial

Pretty kool User Interface. Like the new modern look with the live spectrum so you see exactly what you’re doing.
That's a really good sounding mix Dave. You helped me understand this plugin more, you're a good teacher.

Great description, the best I've seen on this plugin thanks!
Thank you - this was a lifesaver.
cool presentation, love the Sibilance plugin. Trivia fact, there's a letter in slavic languages for "sh" and it's written as "š".
thank you sir
Sweet video, right to the point and super easy to follow.
Merci pour ces explications parfaitement claires !
sibilance is a de esser super hero!
This song is such a jam.
I chipped a bottom tooth and this is a lifesaver until I can get to my appointment!
I like the plug-in but fab filter been had the waveform in the display to further discuss and examine what you are doing
Thank you, Dave.
This is fire…cool UI too…
Wow this project sounds like a mastered.song
Well done

Great video--thank you. Is there any reason to automate the plugin to kick in and out only where needed?
Could you put this on the master ? i tried it and its picking up some sibilance from the actual beat itself
Huh? Put it on the vocal track obviously, not the master bus
