  • In order for a glass surface to produce the correct sound, you need to condition the call. Will Primos teaches you the best way to condition it.

Sometimes, just using an alcohol wipe will clean the glass surface so you don't have to scratch it up. I wear glasses and usually carry some lens cleaner wipes in a ziploc sandwich bag in my pocket while out hunting. Clean your glasses or clean your glass surface turkey call. Those wipes will do both.

How often do you use the slick stick or a conditioning stone?? I use my sand paper and 3M pad all the time but my conditioning stone takes so much off. Does it hurt to use it every hunt or every time you use the call?

On the box it says you can use it right out of the package, but you cant, you have to scratch it

To condition a glass call don't use scotchbrite, only 60 or 80 grit sandpaper. Nothing on anodized aluminum except alcohol wipes if you use anything else you are removing the surface that is anodized. Corian same thing nothing but alcohol wipes.

Not too impressed, really. Those boys that make pot calls and post on Facebook make Will look and sound like a beginner.

I would definitely never claim to know more than Will about turkey calls but have always been told to condition your class/crystal pot calls from side to side. NEVER go in a different direction as it will mess up the call. Will was all over that thing in every direction! 😳. What's up with that!?

Wyatt Williamson. That's mainly for much softer slate surface calls. Glass, aluminum, crystal and even corian surface calls can be roughed in any direction as long as you keep it consistent. Some guys will say you should always go even just one direction, but I've been running pots for 33 years and have never had a single issue
The BIG thing is keeping the surface and striker DRY and oil free.
