Girl I love all your outfits and you style but obviously everything would look expensive because you are wearing very expensive accessories like Chanel handbags and expensive designer shoes
I agree that the word “broke” doesn’t fit for this video. However these are great tips consider to don’t overspend and be elegant. Thank you for the video.
I really enjoyed this vid :) However, I‘d like to point out 2 things: 1) Any makeup product with SPF does NOT replace ur normal SPF, it’s just not enough. 2) Whatever price range of sunglasses you buy, make sure they protect you well from UVA and UVB.
No, a blue toned red will not look great on warmer skin undertones, which include women from southeast Asia. The red that is universally flattering isn't blue toned or orange toned, but a true red.
High necklines, high-waisted garments, gold-plated jewelry over brass to maintain the metals' gold tone. Love your flow of ideas followed by examples. Brilliant and thank you.
My favorite tip was 100% the one about paying attention to fabric. My grandma works for Carlota Alfaro, a high fashion designer back in her day, and she always tells me to pay attention to the fabric of the clothes I buy because no matter how pretty the design is, if the fabric looks cheap you're going to look cheap.
My daughter sent me a pic of a pair of $350 sunglasses she wanted, I sent her a pic of an exact dup for $15.99 at Kohl’s department store. I’m also doing my own nails now. Thank you for sharing all the great tips!
Important: choose fashions that reflect self-love. Choosing 'fashionable' shoes that hurt your your feet or impede your ability to move is a form of self-loathing (i.e. wearing pointed shoes WILL give you bunions, etc.) Self-care and self-esteem go hand in hand. 💖
my mum has bunions and never wore pointed shoes or heels (shes a tomboy who always wears sneakers and sandals, even when she was young lol) bunions are just genetic. Some shoes may make them worse, but if u are prone to them you are going to get them anyway. Some people get them, some people dont.
My teacher will say: "spend like a wealthy girl so it will last you like a peasant girl." compra como rica para que te dure como pobre" fiften years ago I found a Pierre Cardin coat at a thrift store, its still timeless, classy and always get compliments when I wear it. Thanks for your video.🤩
Tu maestr@ muy sabi@, pero estoy pensando q aqui en México hace falta una cadena de thrift stores donde puedas encontrar tesoros a bajo costo, así como allá en USA.... 😝😉
Totally disagree. It's the tailoring. Doesn't matter what your body size is. Doesn't matter what your height is. If your clothes are made to fit you properly you look a million dollars.
“Kind of”? ROFLMAO! This is the. Kind of vid that makes me want to UNSUB. Sorry but don’t title a vid that is sooooooo exaggerated. Loses trust with followers.
Before going out on a Saturday night, I would go into a department store and spray some nice unaffordable perfume on a scarf and tie that on my bag, or wear it, so I’d smell of that perfume that night, without buying it 😂
I was going to make the same comment...I laughed out loud when I saw that! She put that $15 brooch on a pair of Louboutin and Christian Dior because they didn’t look expensive before 🙄🤦🏻♀️😃
This girl is amazing and sooooooo smart!! I watched the entire video and learned so much !! I turned 61 yesterday, have been into fashion all of my adult life and can't wait to try some of Nicki's recommendations. Thanks so much for this!
Don't forget to>>>>take special care of your *Smile* It doesn't really matter what you are wearing~expensive or inexpensive~... If you do not take care of your smile!!
I also like to take one expensive designer piece (either a bag, boots, shoes, belt) and make it stand out by putting on something simple and inexpensive. 😁
Yes and all this stuff about Chanel which was never mentioned in the video; invest in a classic forever thing... handbag definitely unless you're French in which case you'll have 1000 straw bags .... and it makes the look!
At Sephora we are no longer able to make samples, but sometimes brands send samples that we can give out, so it doesn’t hurt to ask! But don’t get disappointed if they don’t have any
Is that because of the lockdown or just a new store policy? I have gotten samples before, but only because I was going to buy & wanted to see how they wore throughout the day.
Zara coat/jacket is 90€, jeans 40€, shoes 80€, sunglasses 20€, bag 40€, parfum 30€. That’s at least 300€ for just one look, for just one weather season! 🤦🏽♀️

Thank you for taking the time to create this video! It is just what I needed. I’ve been more intentional about getting more without breaking the bank. I’m so happy to discover your channel.
Me remembering nearly all the bags from the jag collection in LYXBAG other apartment on the dimond tray.. I think i watched that video like 40 times. Purse collection goals
While I can appreciate that this lady dresses for her own style, I'm a bit more trendy. I use my disposable cash on high-end makeup. If your face and hair are "it", no one really notices your clothing, believe it or not. I also buy thrift pieces, and I sew my own dresses. And my projects turn out looking *snaps fingers*
I personally think that when people wear things with the designer logos (ie the Chanel brooch) it cheapens the looks. It’s like saying “look at this I’m wearing designer” it’s also the type of thing that most often gets replicated by fakes and cheaper brands
Omg that sounds like me: Ukrainian immigrant parents to Canada: I even worked in telemarketing and retail until I got my law degree. The algorithm is working overtime.
I love your channel! All your tips are great! The one tip that lots of stylists don’t mention is that staying healthy and on the thinner side makes styling a whole lot easier as materials fall on your body better. Personally, I have experienced that when I am slimmer I am able to style myself better and faster than when I have gained a few pounds. It is sad, but true. Styling larger bodies is an art on its own.
Great ideas! I think also, that you could get ideas from others that have a similar skin and hair tones as you, and body shape. That has helped me tremendously
Rather than buying perfume dupes I buy purse size sprays of better perfumes then if I use them a lot I will purchase a larger one...also... Bath & Beauty Works has amazing body sprays that smell fantastic and if you keep your eyes open they have great sales and you can get a few new scents for under $30.
I'm super shy so I never comment, but your video was such a big help!! I loved it! Thank you so much for taking the time and sharing such a helpful video! 🙌🌞
Broke girl tip, oldie but golden: get your makeup applied at a beauty bar or beauty counter and ask for samples of the product that the makeup person is using (Ulta beauty, Mac, etc) same with the perfumes. Some perfume dupes are spot on such as Ariana Grande's Cloud perfume $40.00 is an excellent dupe for Bacarat Rogue 540 $140.00. Mho
Wow, your tips are very timely and totally doable. And, yes, monochromatic ensembles rock! I can highly recommend GelMoment gel nail polish and accessories to achieve a professional manicure at home. Love this! You have so many great suggestions! The only thing I would add is shopping at thrift stores in wealthier areas, such as go to the Salvation Army or Goodwill in a very wealthy area, you get designer brands at a fraction of the cost!
Simplify… That’s an over-arching theme that I find helpful. But the details are great too. Thank you for this well paced distillation of your fashion wisdom.
Wish you offered tips on shopping for the basics, how to make multiple outfits with a few pieces, thrifting (great for current trend pieces), how and when to navigate sales, drugstore skincare and makeup options. Ps I’m a cosmetic chemist... that Josie Maran product may seem great, but it only has SPF 15, which offers almost zero sun protection, especially if using only one or two pumps. You’ll need to apply it every hour, so a cheaper option would be just get a separate drugstore sunscreen to get the all the benefits of one.
Thank you SOOOOOOO much! I really want to start investing in brooches after this! Your content is so well thought out and the creativity is amazing. I am now a subscriber. Thanks so much for all the effort you put into your videos! Wishing you all the best x
Loved a lot of your tips! I think each of us have to find our own way in life and the best way to do that is to keep learning, and clearly you have done that. Kudos❣️

exactly. Almost no advice for someone who is really broke.
