I was so depressed two years ago and kept trying to get out of Mississippi while making close to nothing. Ended up passing some certifications, finishing college then moved out of my moms house. I kept listening to this whenever I would study or drive home working overnight at a data center. 40 miles there and back at 5am then would wake up at 2pm to repeat the cycle again. I make more money now and I’m healthier but I don’t think I would have done it without Dilla’s music.

You are never alone, when the beat places you in a frequency zone, use your mind to find remedies fantastic, then surf the feeling until the last kick, that's it feel the smile cascade across your sacred space, spill the moment like a lush inability to make it waste, time waits for no one so stay in the moment, claim the joy that you desire to officially own it, waste no more time being stuck in the past, happiness is perpetual all you have to do is ask, to be in the spotlight of the love that's eternal, write a happy narrative daily in your journal, the greatest love shines eternal to heaven and back, love of self is real when you know where you're at, you are here with us, the children of light, united as one eliminating the fight.

J Dilla, certainly one of the Masters of music, I remember shortly after he passed, I visited James Yancey’s gravesite, and I said a prayer for him at his Tombstone... I’ve never visited someone’s grave like that, and I just sat there thinking about all the contributions Dilla made while he was still in this world with all his music that I love appreciate. Hey I wanna say that I just moved into my dorm at college away from home for the first time and your comment really helped me to realize I’m not alone in the struggle to get some headway in life. La escuche en mi primer viaje a otra nación, estar tan lejos de casa, lejos de las tierras que me vieron nacer y crecer, es una soledad que jamás podré explicar.
This will never get old… Long Live Dilla‼️ ♾️💪🏿👑🤲🏿❤
This actually should have been longer this a masterpiece rest easy J
Dilla’s music makes me feel some type of new found courage, I love it🖤 Rest In Peace.
Thank you for this, getting me through working from home during quarantine 🙏👌🏼
This is my most favorite bit from Dilla and on any song. Period. I would say it perfectly describes the default vibe I be on. I first heard it on Like Water for Chocolate album by Common wgen it first came out. Nag Chamoa stayed on repeat.. And I been rocking with it ever since. RIP Dilla
Dilla is the man... I don't get why so many videos have the NY skyline though when dude was repping Detroit... but it's all good, I'm sure he had love for NYC too.
This instrumental is so underrated... That Common album is so smooth you almost skate right past it.
Ssssiiiiiick rip to one of the greatest of Hip Hop
something pure, something nostalgic, something light and so deep on the heart... perfect to meditate
This is what my heart beat is.
💯💯
Deep boss
I love this instrumental. Thank you for the positing of the beat. Plus the New York City Back Ground matches this beat.
I was literally saying to my wife the sublimeness of the picture coupled with the beat.. this is harmony
This is in the pantheon of life altering imstrumentals 🔥🙏🏿👌🏿💥💪🏿👆🏿👌🏿✊🏿👏🏿💎 Rest in power to the god

Bro I’ve been rediscovering hiphop again since 2020 and it’s 2024 and all of a sudden I’m realising after MJ it’s dilla no one has impressed me this much in all my life time musically I can’t even find fault in his production and I’m a massive critic but I have nothing to add or subtract it’s perfect absolute masterpiece 👌 dude is cold 🥶🔴🔵 one of the coldest to ever do it 💯🔵🔴
this is truly beautiful
More of a cigar guy but having a smoke watching the sun go down with that bluish sometimes purple sky with this playing in the background is blissful. This the perfect vibe.
Favorite scent, ain’t nothing new under the sun I tell ya
Nag Champa was literally the scent of Melbourne house parties in the 90's haha ❤ First timing hearing this.
Can't tell me this wasn't tuned at 432 Hz. This raises my vibration every time I play it. . .
Common def killed this joint fr fr ..pops up on my pandora at least once a week..
Looking at this photo of Manhattan to this beat, I can't help but think about all the people just getting up out of bed, (or those going to sleep), the millions of people underground in the subways, a New Yorker getting into a yellow cab, or an every-day Manhattanite hustling down the street, and all of those people with the same thoughts about their next move, their next destination.
Dilla is FOREVER. A ONE OF ONE.
