I recently went (back) down the Transformers rabbit hole after picking up the Studio Series The Fallen. When I was younger I sold off my whole TF collection, I've regretted it for years and told myself I would collect them again (besides the occasional Generations WFC or Studio Series one here and there) because I already collect so many other lines. They've pretty much released every G1 main character in the past couple years across various lines and made it super accessible for new collectors, so I've been going back and picking up a lot of the autobots and decepticons that I can get my hands on along with the autobots from the Bumblebee movie. While the price has gone up and the size of the figures has gone down, man has the engineering gotten so much better than the older figures from the early/mid 2000s. This guy is on my list for sure, great video!

Welcome to the club, Dave. Honestly, I'm a Beast Wars fan and always have been, but I'm not a G1 fan for the reason you mentioned: they look too plain. Since we seem to have about the same taste, I'd recommend Legacy Tarantulas, Inferno, or Kingdom Tigatron as your next Transformers.

I'm a transformers fan first and foremost, been in it for 8 years now and only started with marvel legends collecting a couple years ago and so it was a surprise to see you pick this up! I have to admit I held back from watching this review because I wasn't sure how your style would work reviewing a transformer but your input is really refreshing! Yay I love the figure too brother. And the thing of his tail is for robot. mode. light piping meaning when light goes through with his eyes look as if they’re lighting up.

Nice to see you dip your toes into more transformers. I’m predominantly a transformers collector and for a mainline figure, this is a good one! It’s nice to see a Hasbro figure without lots of gaps and waffles. There’s lots of nice touches here, love the eye on his chest and the dragon head is awesome. I know what you mean by paint apps, this is why I buy a lot of third party now as they just stand out in comparison and the price difference isn’t too big now Hasbro have raised their prices. Hasbro’s Legacy Inferno is a great figure to add to this guy if you want to extend your collection. I’ve really enjoyed your videos this year. Thanks for the time you put into these and have a great Christmas 👍

Hey DDMB 👋, good figure. I tried getting into Transformers figures but just couldn't. I like the franchise though regardless.
if you want non-transforming transformers, you have options like the furai model kits, which are very high end and quite expensive, or the R.E.D figures, which are marvel legends scale but have a few QC issues, quite affordable though.
I have the original Toy on this. I’m considering getting this guy. I want it for Dragon mode. I have gotten some of these beast wars figures. And they are pretty cool.
Agreed! This figure is bonkers cool, fun playability, and is so nostalgic. Beast wars was great, and transformers is making a big come back. Bring on the Transformers toys Dave! Transforming them back and forth is legit therapeutic.😊 I’d recommend, studio series 86 Hot rod, grimlock, and legacy menasaur. Jet fire is great too

I agree most transforming Transformers are bad/ compromised. But you should check out Soundwave from 1st generation toy. So got it perfect even in the 80s.

If they do a better transmetal optimal optimus one came out with the power or the primes series it was an easy pass compared to original
The original one actually looks better
