It's much easier to carry when you run errands and have both hands free to carry baby and Dan won't mind carrying it as well. Get your sleep now while you can! Congratulations! Each pregnancy is different. I had 3 and every time was different. The fact that your 1st trimester was so bad doesn’t mean that your 2nd pregnancy will be the same. Just keep that in mind. Also, every delivery is different. The 1st one for me was a piece of cake, the 2nd was a nightmare. No matter what you do remember one thing, being a parent is never easy but it is extremely rewarding. ❤️

Super happy for u guys!! I have 3 boys (2, 7, and 10) and it is extremely hard but sooooo worth it. I'm sick with the sniffles and my older sons wrote me cards to tell me they love me and will pray I recover soon ♡ They are trouble makers and make me want to scream a lot but they are the sweetest, loveliest and most precious gems I have. Hi Amy, Congratulations! For me, I would think having a second diaper bag in the car would be quite annoying as you’d have to refill it constantly and this risks omitting something important when you’re busy, tired and flustered. Eg Say baby wipes were all used and you didn’t know or forgot to refill it. Also, if they need bottles, this isn’t something you can just “keep in car” for a long time anyway. Having one “outside of house” bag has been useful for me - much easier to keep track of what needs refilling. I had a similar experience in my first trimester. I would describe it as “worse hangover of my life for 8 weeks”. My husband knew where I was in the house because of my constant vomiting and retching. I saying this, third trimester was even harder for me. I was so tired and constantly in pain. Sleep was fragmented. I continued to work full time until 36 weeks too but really struggled. Then came the fourth trimester. Nothing quite prepares you for the emotional rollercoaster and sleep deprivation. Grandparents are great, but I chose to breastfeed, which meant only I could feed him. And boy oh boy, breastfeeding was the most challenging thing I have ever done. I guess what I’m really trying to say is, I hear that you love your work and don’t plan on reducing work. But be easy on yourself. Be kind to yourself. Don’t set high expectations as you’ll be disappointed. Baby will take up every hours of your day (all day and all night), and you should focus on you and your baby. Such precious time. Enjoy it and treasure it.
Congratulations on your amazing news! Love your reveal story. Sorry about your first experience but proud of you for not letting it get you down. I lost my first and had problems throughout my pregnancies and the one thing that is really really important is to take care of yourself, listen to your body, don’t be shy about annoying your doctor/midwife if you feel off because the better you take care of yourself starting now the better your already taking care of your baby. All the rest of the stuff will just automatically fall into place and work out just fine when your baby comes and you will be a perfect mum.❤️

you’re more than welcome to give 2 diaper bags a try but speaking from a little experience (currently have a 10 month old) always double checking that one bag fully stocked is work on its own especially when you have a little one crawling around at your feet while you’re making your last minute checks. i just make sure to refill the bag again as soon as we get home to always have it ready. one quick tip: have a designated spot that you only place the bag in once it’s fully ready to go. it’s a good visual cue to you & your husband whether or not something may be missing. our ready to go spot is a closet near the front door. once it’s ready, we just grab & go with full confidence that we have everything we could need on the go. wishing you a healthy pregnancy!!

All of the furniture in my home are white/ivory/cream in color and I have two girls and two dogs. I seem to have managed it well throughout the years and I know you will too! Congrats again! Throwing up during pregnancy is the worst. I had nausea and “all-day sickness” with my first for 5 months. I would vomit 7-10 a day and barely ate due to so many food aversions. So glad that you’re sharing this, many of us feel so alone through the process especially if you’re seeing everyone else in your circle have zero issues. I’m glad that yours was short-lived. Congrats!!! Happy for both of you. I beg of you, don’t focus too much on baby content creators with buy this do that. One of the best advice I got when I was expecting my first and only child was from my Dad who btw is a med doctor and my Mum who’s a midwife was , don’t buy too stuff, babies don’t need too much stuff. All they need is a safe environment and basic needs. It was such a simple and profound advice and after a couple of months and years I realize it saved me so much time and money. Best of luck 🤞
Diaper bag recommendation, I have a canvas tote tuck inside the diaper bag. For a quick run that requires less items, you can take out essential and put it in the canvas tote so you don’t need to take the huge bag with you. Wish you luck!

YAY!!!!! Congratulations Mama! My biggest tip concerning diaper/nappy bags, coming from a mom of twins plus 2, in the early stage a proper diaper bag is necessary, but used my neverful. The idea of having one in the vehicle is great. I didn’t have a designated bag for the car though. I used a plastic bin with a lid and it doubled as the diaper bag and first aid. Even though I’ve been diaper free with my kiddos for a few years, I still have the bin in my car. I found keeping things like diaper wipes and sanitary wipes would keep moist longer in the bin instead of the bag. Just a thought. Again congratulations!!!! So excited for you!
Congratulations! Hopefully your pregnancy has turned a corner and you’re feeling better. I have always kept an “emergency pack” in the car for my children. Extra diapers, wipes, change of clothes, change pad - used for backup situations. Then it only needs replenishing when used but incredibly handy to have. My girls are now 5 and 7 and we still have that bag in the car with extra underwear and clothes. It might only get used a couple times a year, but I’m always so grateful it’s there when we really need it.

Thrilled for you both ....I use a large longchamp le pliage bag as my nappy bag...nappy bag drove me nuts.wonderfiul times ahead....don't let anyone scare monger ( does my head in )...you will get sleep...I breastfed and found it easy after the initial difficult few days ....basically alot of all this depends on your baby ...just go with and follow your instinct ...don't put pressure on yourself about anything ...YOU know best ...you will be amazing 👏

Amie I always had a separate supply in my car. When my daughter was a toddler she got sick when we were an hour away from home. We went through her regular diaper bag, clothes & all plus what was in my car! Definitely thankful I had thought to do that!
I’ve never heard of the two bag tip. I’m about 15 months into motherhood (2nd on the way) and it’s never been a problem having one. My biggest tip is to get a backpack. You’re gonna want your hands free. The backpack should open up as wide as possible, light colored on the inside so it’s easy to see everything, and one with as many pockets and compartments as possible. Also, my two pregnancies have been completely different in every way possible! No sickness and no bad symptoms with my first, a boy. This time around we’re having a girl and the 1st trimester was so very rough. 2nd trimester is fine though except for the exhaustion that comes from pregnancy and chasing after a toddler! Anyway, congratulations! Excited to watch your journey.

Diaper bag- I would really suggest getting a bag that is a back pack or something that can be a back pack as well as a shoulder bag, sometimes you will need both hands free and when you are out on your own. Congratulations!

Congratulations, Amie & Dan! This is such an exciting time in your lives! My kids are both in college now. Seems like a million years ago (and also just yesterday) since they were babies. Mine are only 17 months apart in age (not intentional). Lots of works but so worth it! As far as repurposing one of your bags to use for baby, make sure it’s one that can take a beating and that you won’t mind if it gets marked or messy. Babies and all of their gear are super messy! Anyway, congrats again and be sure to take care of yourself!

I’m due at Christmas and also had the absolute worst first trimester! Not only is it awful being sick all the time but it’s so lonely and I felt so down. I had to be off work and felt really judged! Still a bit sick now but nowhere near as bad. Yay for second trimester! ❤️
Congratulations 🥰❤️. I had hg when I was pregnant. Got admitted to the hospital 4 times, put on iv for dehydration, given vitamin boosts, and in the end even a feeding tube down my nose 🤢. I couldn’t hold down a single sip of water. Vomited every 30 minutes for days at a time. Fun times 🙈… never again!
Congratulations!!! I would recommend a re-purposes tote bag over a diaper bag. Sometimes diaper bags can actually have too many compartments making it less roomy inside the bag.
I have a 15 month old. For diaper bags I got one that was like a tote and Eventually I ended up getting a backpack. I now carry a smaller backpack, in the car we have the tote one with tons of diapers but the small backpack I put a few diapers, a wipe holder thats silicone and flexible and a change of clothes. the smaller one is great because I can put it on my back and carry my son, I can also fit a sippy cup in it and a snack so when we go to the park I'm hands free to play with him. Also it fits under the stroller. The original stroller we picked out broke a few months after he was born. They sent us a new one but the carrier didn't fit into it, it's a separate stroller and my hubby ended up buying a cheaper one thats more compact to put in the car, the new one they sent we use to walk our hilly neighborhood but the cheaper one we keep in the car. The backpack and tote diaper bags don't fit under the cheaper stroller. The small backpack I got does. The smaller one I got is a baby yoda one because it's cute and I have a son so I was like, well when he's a little bigger he'll like this. For the stroller we did like the ones with 3 big wheels, they usually are easier to get up and down curbs and move easier. Back to the diaper bags, the older you get the less things you need to carry. Having extra wash clothes or something similar sized comes in handy, also put a zip lock bag in there to put anything wet that you want to keep so it doesn't get other things wet. If you have a boy, put a washcloth over his manhood when you change him so he doesn't waterfall you, haha. My aunt taught me that and I haven't gotten peed on by my son yet!
In the house you don’t use a diaper bag. Get a caddy. It’s compartments which you have filled with nappies, creams, change of clothes, etc.. we have one upstairs in my sons nursery and one in the living room. It has handles so you can carry it around in the house.
Congrats to you again Amie! Hope you have a smooth pregnancy. Just dont worry about what will happen after baby is out. You will just know what to do when things happened on you. So just relax and enjoy your pregnancy moment. You will definitely missed it once baby is out too. Have lots of rest.

About the diaper bag issues, my experience with my children tells me that it's okay to have a primary bag with all the stuff so that you can refresh and replenish the supplies as and when necessary. And keep another smaller bag of supplies like extra diapers and clothes in your car. This supply will help to rescue you when you guys are out of supplies, forget to replenish etc and also when you need to go elsewhere, e.g. maybe the toilet etc and Dan can carry the second baby bag, and good enough to change baby etc and help you separately. Do not keep too many clothes etc cos baby grows very fast so you will find that the clothes in the second bag is often not worn and baby has outgrew them. 😅

Congrats!!! Happy for both of you. I beg of you, don’t focus too much on baby content creators with buy this do that. One of the best advice I got when I was expecting my first and only child was from my Dad who btw is a med doctor and my Mum who’s a midwife was , don’t buy too stuff, babies don’t need too much stuff. All they need is a safe environment and basic needs. It was such a simple and profound advice and after a couple of months and years I realize it saved me so much time and money. Best of luck 🤞
Diaper bag recommendation, I have a canvas tote tuck inside the diaper bag. For a quick run that requires less items, you can take out essential and put it in the canvas tote so you don’t need to take the huge bag with you. Wish you luck!

YAY!!!!! Congratulations Mama! My biggest tip concerning diaper/nappy bags, coming from a mom of twins plus 2, in the early stage a proper diaper bag is necessary, but used my neverful. The idea of having one in the vehicle is great. I didn’t have a designated bag for the car though. I used a plastic bin with a lid and it doubled as the diaper bag and first aid. Even though I’ve been diaper free with my kiddos for a few years, I still have the bin in my car. I found keeping things like diaper wipes and sanitary wipes would keep moist longer in the bin instead of the bag. Just a thought. Again congratulations!!!! So excited for you!

I have always kept an “emergency pack” in the car for my children. Extra diapers, wipes, change of clothes, change pad - used for backup situations. Then it only needs replenishing when used but incredibly handy to have.
My girls are now 5 and 7 and we still have that bag in the car with extra underwear and clothes. It might only get used a couple times a year, but I’m always so grateful it’s there when we really need it.

Thrilled for you both ....I use a large longchamp le pliage bag as my nappy bag...nappy bag drove me nuts.wonderfiul times ahead....don't let anyone scare monger ( does my head in )...you will get sleep...I breastfed and found it easy after the initial difficult few days ....basically alot of all this depends on your baby ...just go with and follow your instinct ...don't put pressure on yourself about anything ...YOU know best ...you will be amazing 👏

I am breast feeding so I don't have bottles etc to bring so that probably means there's less to carry/ organise. But I find it a perfect baby bag. My actual baby bag annoyed me 😄

Amie I always had a separate supply in my car. When my daughter was a toddler she got sick when we were an hour away from home. We went through her regular diaper bag, clothes & all plus what was in my car! Definitely thankful I had thought to do that!

I’ve never heard of the two bag tip. I’m about 15 months into motherhood (2nd on the way) and it’s never been a problem having one. My biggest tip is to get a backpack. You’re gonna want your hands free. The backpack should open up as wide as possible, light colored on the inside so it’s easy to see everything, and one with as many pockets and compartments as possible.
Also, my two pregnancies have been completely different in every way possible! No sickness and no bad symptoms with my first, a boy. This time around we’re having a girl and the 1st trimester was so very rough. 2nd trimester is fine though except for the exhaustion that comes from pregnancy and chasing after a toddler!

Diaper bag- I would really suggest getting a bag that is a back pack or something that can be a back pack as well as a shoulder bag, sometimes you will need both hands free and when you are out on your own.

Congratulations, Amie & Dan! This is such an exciting time in your lives! My kids are both in college now. Seems like a million years ago (and also just yesterday) since they were babies. Mine are only 17 months apart in age (not intentional). Lots of works but so worth it! As far as repurposing one of your bags to use for baby, make sure it’s one that can take a beating and that you won’t mind if it gets marked or messy. Babies and all of their gear are super messy! Anyway, congrats again and be sure to take care of yourself!
I would definitely have a backpack over a tote! It’s a secure way to carry everything and enables you to be hands free xx

I’m due at Christmas and also had the absolute worst first trimester! Not only is it awful being sick all the time but it’s so lonely and I felt so down. I had to be off work and felt really judged! Still a bit sick now but nowhere near as bad. Yay for second trimester! ❤️

Congratulations 🥰❤️. I had hg when I was pregnant. Got admitted to the hospital 4 times, put on iv for dehydration, given vitamin boosts, and in the end even a feeding tube down my nose 🤢. I couldn’t hold down a single sip of water. Vomited every 30 minutes for days at a time. Fun times 🙈… never again!
Congratulations!!! I would recommend a re-purposes tote bag over a diaper bag. Sometimes diaper bags can actually have too many compartments making it less roomy inside the bag.

I have a 15 month old. For diaper bags I got one that was like a tote and Eventually I ended up getting a backpack. I now carry a smaller backpack, in the car we have the tote one with tons of diapers but the small backpack I put a few diapers, a wipe holder thats silicone and flexible and a change of clothes. the smaller one is great because I can put it on my back and carry my son, I can also fit a sippy cup in it and a snack so when we go to the park I'm hands free to play with him. Also it fits under the stroller. The original stroller we picked out broke a few months after he was born. They sent us a new one but the carrier didn't fit into it, it's a separate stroller and my hubby ended up buying a cheaper one thats more compact to put in the car, the new one they sent we use to walk our hilly neighborhood but the cheaper one we keep in the car. The backpack and tote diaper bags don't fit under the cheaper stroller. The small backpack I got does. The smaller one I got is a baby yoda one because it's cute and I have a son so I was like, well when he's a little bigger he'll like this. For the stroller we did like the ones with 3 big wheels, they usually are easier to get up and down curbs and move easier. Back to the diaper bags, the older you get the less things you need to carry. Having extra wash clothes or something similar sized comes in handy, also put a zip lock bag in there to put anything wet that you want to keep so it doesn't get other things wet. If you have a boy, put a washcloth over his manhood when you change him so he doesn't waterfall you, haha. My aunt taught me that and I haven't gotten peed on by my son yet!

In the house you don’t use a diaper bag. Get a caddy. It’s compartments which you have filled with nappies, creams, change of clothes, etc.. we have one upstairs in my sons nursery and one in the living room. It has handles so you can carry it around in the house.

So happy for you both! Nappy bags: your totes can work for you BUT my husband preferred his own manly backpack especially traveling locally/internationally. About the diaper bag issues, my experience with my children tells me that it's okay to have a primary bag with all the stuff so that you can refresh and replenish the supplies as and when necessary. And keep another smaller bag of supplies like extra diapers and clothes in your car. This supply will help to rescue you when you guys are out of supplies, forget to replenish etc and also when you need to go elsewhere, e.g. maybe the toilet etc and Dan can carry the second baby bag, and good enough to change baby etc and help you separately. Do not keep too many clothes etc cos baby grows very fast so you will find that the clothes in the second bag is often not worn and baby has outgrew them. 😅
