  • A J.D. Power survey reveals that Air Canada is ranked among the worst airlines in North America, with low customer satisfaction levels. Next, Etihad Airways has announced a USD 143 million profit for Q1 2024 after an incredibly successful first three months of the calendar year. Lastly, Korean Air has announced plans to sell five Boeing 747-8 jets for $674 million as part of plans to develop a new E-4B Nightwatcher.

Last 2 times I flew Korean Air was on the 748, every seat was filled, yet still a comfortable and good experience. Gonna miss the queen

Fun fact; starting today, Icelandair is launching nonstop flights from Pittsburgh to Reykjavik.

My Dad and I had a bad experience dealing with Air Canada after a direct flight was cancelled. I couldn't agree more with the ranking.

Not surprised about Air Canada. I've heard several complaints about their level of service over the past two years.

No update on Korean Air has begun A380 scrapping, and Thai at last selling their 6 strong 380's as well !!

I have always said this, air Canada is a full service airline that operates at a ULCC level. At least with Southwest, and Ryanair you know they are an ULCC and they operate as one, they don’t claim to be any better.
Like seriously, one of the reasons if I fly outside of NA I am not going with AC (I rather forgoing aeroplan points) is that even baseline economy service on other airlines trans continental service is far superior than AC.

What happened to Air Canada?? Back in the '70s, '80s and '90s, they used to be a top notch airline with great service. Now all they're doing is nickle and diming people. It's costing people a lot more now to fly them at base ticket prices. The service now isn't also what it used to be. Too bad.

If I would be share-holder at Boeing ... exactly for appointing mr. Salehpour as the new CEO of Boeing I would vote. For his engineering expertise ... for his character ... for his boldness & courage. Plus, his name is symbolic for the current phase in the life of the company: sales are poor. 🙂
So, the right man - at the right moment. 👍

For Air Canada it all comes down to price and promotion. They are over sell what they ultimately offer by over pricing for services rendered. The heavier than usual added on government and airport taxes don’t help either. I agree with you though, if they just were less combative with customer care they’re probably rate much higher. They have decent planes and an excellent route network.

A friend of my moms once went over to her mothers funeral and took Air Canada on the way back. She was taking her ashes home but there was a mixup with the luggage or something and the airline lost her moms ashes

Hey DJ, off topic, but there’s another channel called “GlobeTrotting at DJ’s Aviation”. I don’t know if you’re aware of this, but whoever is running it is taking your videos and reuploading them as if it’s their own. I know you put a lot of work into your videos, so if it isn’t your doing, thought you should know about it… Keep up the great work.

RUclips algorithms are quite stupid, the reason why many people are creating a second channel, focussing on different topics, which YT otherwise mixes up. See Mentour Pilot (Mentour Now) for example.
Or channels which are used for less popular topics. This has different reasons, mostly in regards to advertisement for example. Videos with low viewer counts can hinder attracting advertisement contracts.

@@jantjarks7946 You're right. I started GlobeTrotting to continue with content I initially did in 2017/2018 on this channel before pivoting to news. However, after much experimentation, YT hates when I publish analysis content here and doesn't favour it. However, I don't get any sponsorships on this channel anyway so it was mainly just to ensure the content could be seen : )

There are two airlines that I avoid. Philippine Airlines unless there is no alternative. With Air Canada, I would rather walk or swim than fly on my country’s flag carrier. They even made my neighbor cry after a customer service call to them regarding seats on an international flight.

A Boeing order is not headline news here, especially if the aircraft is replacing Airbus. 😂😂
Yes, Airbus fanboys, we know they're replacing their 777s with the A350-1000, but that was a big blow to Boeing, right? SMH.
