Kind of adding to the the ‘Thestrals are the anti-unicorn’ idea; in the first book Firenze says that a unicorn is a symbol of purity and innocence (innocence in this situation means child-like innocence or in other words ignorance of the darker aspects of life) So by contrast thestrals and the ability to see them are symbols of a loss of innocence; you’ve witnessed death, life’s harshest realty, and are thus forever changed
Actually it might be a point because technically Harry saw his parents die when he was an infant but unable to see thestrals however its when he grows up and then witnessed death that he could see them
@@quasar3949 That was explained. He saw his mother die (his father was downstairs), but was too young to actually understand death yet, so it doesn't count.
Just a theory: Harry was the ultimate master of the wand since he had 2/3 of the hollows already. He was powerful, but the fact that he had the cloak and the stone put him a step above any other wizard. The wand would want to complete the set.
Dude, that has nothing to do with the wand’s maestry. Draco disarmed an unsuspecting Dumbledore. The Wand chooses him. Harry disarmed Draco. The Wand chooses him. End of story.
@@timonobel615 no voldemort is a half blood surprisingly. His mother magiced a muggle into loving her and making a baby with her. Harry is actually more pure blood than voldemort.
Addition to the theory: The wand is loyal to its first master.... DEATH. No matter which side wins in the duel, if someone dies, it was a Win for Death - so a victory for its master. (But I agree it is looking for the most powerful wizard to possess it to accomplish that goal for its master (DEATH).
It seems that the elder wand is still extremely beneficial in performing optimal results with a spell, as long as it’s not confrontational. For example, dumbledore used it to kill the spirits when him and Harry found the ring in the cave. Since he wasn’t dueling, he performed amazing spells
Something that would better emphasize your point is Harry, after the final confrontation, uses the elder wand to preform Reparo on his own wand, completely fixing it which is a feat no other wand could accomplish
I still wonder to this very day how no one in wizarding history ever considered that the elder wand acts like all other wands in terms of ownership Edit: I actually realized that this theory covers the plot hole from the cursed Child that Delphi became the master of the elder wand cause she disarmed harry. It doesn't matter if he is disarmed he is the master of death the wand will never select anyone else as a master
This is also what I thought reading HP. I was like “oh, I get it” when the history of the wand was being talked about. I think it makes perfect sense that powerful *Dark* wizards specifically wouldn’t realize they were being tricked. I mean, if it was looking for the most powerful wizard why didn’t it find it’s way to Nicholas Flamel? Answer, good old Nick never would have sought it out. In the wand’s quest to get back to the Master of Death, it inadvertently created a system which would fail to attract the Master of Death. Yep, I’m saying even the Elder Wand itself didn’t understand what the characteristics of the Master of Death would be. After all, it was created by Death who did not know what characteristics his master would have until he actually met his master in the Parzival brothers. But presumably he created the wand before he met them. Thus the wand may the same assumption as Voldemort: that the chief characteristic of the Master of Death would be invincibility. That the Master of Death would be able to literally duel Death and win. But actually of course, the Master of Death is he who is not afraid of death.
I was just typing out a comment about this. Regarding the loyalty of the wand to the first owner, wouldn't it make sense that it was loyal to Death then? Wasn't that the point of the tale of the 3 brothers? The wand was HANDED by Death, not beaten the first time. Death never lost a duel with the wand. The wand chooses a Potter could be a nod to the 3rd brother for being the most clever in mastering death, same as with Harry.
Ollivander seems to understand wands the most intimately, and he always emphasized "the wand chooses the wizard Mr Potter." I also think the wand is imbued with great power too. That is why Dumbledore, so easily, beat Voldemort at the Ministry. Lets suppose that Death performed amazing magic to create the wand and the wand automatically chose Death to be the primary owner. (This is assuming deathly hallows were not created by human wizards but Death himself) Death simply gave the wand without the brother winning it, so it still remembered its primary owner. However, I think Death allowed the brother to become the secondary owner of the wand. Death was cunning and planned to kill the brother by fueling his arrogance which is what ended up happening. Maybe Death's success further made Death the primary owner of the wand. Further proof of Death continuing to be the primary owner is that death seems to unnaturally surround this elder wand. In deathly hallows they talk about how its "bloody history" has been documented. (On a sidenote, if the oldest brother had been smarter plus I believe that the wand has been blessed with great power, which together could have allowed Death to lose, and the wand would not have led to a bloody history.) Initially Death imbued the wand with the rule that it must be "won" by for example expelliarmus or a physical tussle. Noting the arrogance of the first brother, this is actually genius, because if someone steals the wand in that manner, the oldest brother's ego would be hurt and he would try to kill the thief. Then came Grindelwald who won the wand by expelliarmus from the window I believe. Grindelwald kills alot of people which means Death is still winning and is the primary owner, I think JK makes a mistake at the next step though. The slightly more talented dumbledore should have lost to Grindelwald + the magic in the wand in a fair fight. Then comes Harry. Harry beat Death as a baby first with the help of dumbledore and lily. He then beats Death in sorcerers stone, chamber and goblet of fire. Harry wrestles draco(who won elder wand from dumbledore) making him the secondary owner as well. Harry beats Death, Lily's blood, against elder wand again in the forest. (I would have preferred he had used the stone but whatever...) Before the final avada at school, Harry has beaten Death like 5 times, so for the first time Death is no longer the primary owner. Harry has also won the elder wand from Draco, as well as survived an elder wand attack making him a super strong secondary owner as well. Now.. Harry who is all about saving life has beaten Death too severely and won the wand too favorably. So the wand in voldemorts hand wont allow harm on anyone at Hogwarts.
Wrong about Dumbledore. The fact Dumbledore was able to outperform Grindle with the wand without even killing him is what enabled Dumbledore to have it. He also never killed with the wand as well, making him just as much of a master over it.
If you read the books, Dumbledore tells Harry that he believes the Peverell brothers were simply very gifted wizards who created these items-- and that they are merely proof of the wizards talent. The story, like any myth, is an exaggeration of what really happened. "Oh yes, I think so. Whether they met Death on a lonely road... I think it more likely that the Peverell brothers were simply gifted, dangerous wizards who succeeded in creating those powerful objects. The story of them being Death's own Hallows seems to me the sort of legend that might have sprung up around such creations." The books also explain why Voldemort can't hurt anyone in Hogwarts. It says clearly that when Harry sacrificed himself to save everyone at the school, he instituted the same magical protection that Lily gave him as a child when she sacrificed herself to save him. Everyone harry sacrificed himself for could not be harmed by Voldemort at that point. "Don't you get it? I was ready to die to stop you from hurting these people" "But you did not!" "I meant to, and that's what did it. I've done what my mother did. They're protected from you. Haven't you noticed how none of the spells you put on them are binding? You can't torcher them. You can't touch them. You don't learn from your mistakes, Riddle, do you?" Don't overthink it with this crazy fan-theory stuff. The books do a good job of explaining it clearly. Most of these fan-theory people never even read the books... lol.

In book 3 when they travel back in time, Harry realizes that he had the power to get rid of the dementors all along instead of waiting for someone else. So perhaps, Harry had the power all along to fix his wand and like the idea of Felix, he just had to believe in his abilities/the wand enough for it to actually work. Which would mean the wand isn’t extraordinary at all.
That checks out. The reason he didn't have the confidence to fix it before would have been because he was told by olivander that it couldn't be repaired
@@JazzaLink its different i think, with dementors dumbledore said that a powerful wizard could do that, with the wand, in history, no one can, even for dumbledore or voldemort, and harry tries and faild until he tried with the elder one... and he wasn't sure, he thinks if this doesn't work, nothing will repair his wand, so i think for its true masters, it really has more power.
Harry never tries fixing a wand with a wand that has chosen him for it's master (his Phoenix feather wand) until he has the elder wand ,so it could just be that the elder wand is superior to other wands in just the fact it works as effectively as possible for it's master. But if you weren't using a wand that is perfect for you then you got the elder wand and suddenly you're an even better wizard (or witch) you would of course buy into the idea that the wand makes you a more powerful witch (or wizard) because the wand allows for a magic user's full potential to be used.(the reason this doesn't apply to Voldy is because he be totally vibing with his wand and does to Harry because he wasn't vibing with the wand he had but as soon as he gets his first wand back he ditches the death stick, not getting any real experience for comparison therefore he doesn't realize he's just a powerful with either wand)
I really like this theory, however, i would go even further and say this: There is no Ace, the wand will never find "the greatest wizard of all time" because there is no such thing, the only true master of the wand was the one who was powerful enough to create her, Death itself, death is so powerful it could create this wand and form there on the wand wants to find its way back to the most powerful person its seen. And due to this Harry wins, Voldemort vs Harry is a King vs another King, however, Harry here is the master of Death, he is the only person who had the resurrection stone, and the cloak of invisibility, and the wand senses this in him, and in its pursuit to find the greatest wizard it knows (Death), she goes to Harry as she senses he is the Master of Death.
OMG...just realized...hagrid was game keeper when lupin was at school, so the knowledge that a unicorn can outrun a warewolf means he saw lupin fail to catch one when he was at school, and it probably means that he saw a stag and a wolf dog running around as well 🙂
Interesting, because as we know Hagrid blabs a lot, so that may have been the origin of the "werewolves in the forbidden forest" rumor, too. I mean in the entire 7 books the "forbidden forest" really doesn't do much to earn its infamous reputation. We've got unicorns, centaurs, very secluded spiders and that's about it.

It seems pretty clear to me from the results of the wand repairing Harry's phoenix feather wand that it was not made to duel people but to actually create. It would make sense that an artisan would make a superior tool to help him do his (or their) work.
@@joeyattack99 He planned to die by Snape's hand. There's no telling whether he'd fight Draco. It'd actually be more telling if he did fight Draco and lost. Then you know that the wand is seriously going to the stronger wizard (at that moment Dumbledore was weak and terminally cursed).
@@PristinePerceptions That is not true. He binds Harry with a non-verbal spell. Ergo, he had time to cast a spell before he was disarmed. He could have just as easily made that spell Protego and blocked the disarming spell, if that was his goal.
I mean to be fair for Draco he actually was second in his class at Hogwarts the first being Hermione so he actually is pretty smart in his own right and even the writer implied that so just because Dumbledore didn't fight doesn't mean that Draco wasn't naturally a powerful wizard he was a very very misguided child and he eventually thank God realize the error of what he was doing with his life I'll be almost too late but he got there
The first brother to have the wand immediately went and killed another wizard who had been more powerful than him, having beaten him earlier. So, it did make him more powerful.
I like to think it’s because the First Brother never lost ownership of it. He wasn’t killed in a duel, instead killed in his sleep. Therefore, he never lost ownership of it. Instead, the power died with him, and then you can go from there.
It was also stolen by Grindelwald not won either and I can't imagine Gregorovitch dueling, however can see him buying it off someone who didn't know it's true value. In it's long life you can imagine owners just dying nothing to do with dueling, maybe in a freak floo powder or broomstick accident.
The wand makes you win every duel. But every time we've seen the wielder lose (except for Voldemort vs Harry), it wasn't a duel. It was a sneak attack, an assassination or a thieft.
Yeah but that's kind of the boring answer gone by in the books that focuses on the precise wording. Her they look an the broader meaning and symbols. I mean they keep saying Harry is master of Death.
Harry was the rightful master before the duel with Voldy duel to overpowering Draco even though it was with different wands. perhaps the elder wand considered Dumbledore to have already beaten Grindlewald on the night Arianna died when they fought and Grindlewald fled.
What about Dumbledore vs. Grindlewald. If Grindlewald was the master of the Elder Wand, how is it possible that he loses to Dumbledore? I guess it was because Dumbledore was the more powerful Wizard, so the wand changed sides to serve him instead. Remember, this wand was crafted BY DEATH HIMSELF as a trick. He wanted to kill the 1st brother with it. So it makes sense that the wand is unreliable
If the Elder Wand is as powerful as everyone says it is (and considering it performed unheard of magic like mending Harry’s wand), would one be able to place the fidelius charm on it so they were the only ones who knew what it looked like or who had it?

Voldemort’s greatest weakness was in his inability to recognize that despite Harry not being as strong, he was the one wizard that he couldn’t defeat. Had he recognized this, he could have had someone else kill him., and ruled as the most powerful wizard.
Stubbornness and ego are what often destroy a villain in a story. If he didn't strongly desire to personally defeat the one who defeated him, Voldemort could have been a ruler for a long time.
@@ariesearthdragon no it was because the prophecy stated that one would kill the other so if anyone else tries to kill harry it wouldn't work only harry can kill voldemort and only voldemort can kill harry it just depends on who kills who first
@Targaryenbatman if one would kill the is it then possible for someone else to kill one of them first? It would literally make it impossible for one to kill the other as one of them would already be dead..... your logical reasoning needs some major work.
The 3rd brother, the true master of death. Since he was in fact the only one who was able to fool death until he was ready to die. His decendant ends up being apart of the self fulfilled profesies and becomes the ultimate master of death and final owner. I have to wonder if Jk Rowling really though that intricately about these details whenshe started writing the first chapter ...🤔
Just Another PJ Fangirl agreed, there are definitely other wands made of elder (because there’s the superstition “Wand of Elder, never prosper”) and it’s not unheard of to make wands with something other than unicorn hair, Phoenix feathers, and dragon heartstrings (Fleur’s is Veela hair)
While I don't disagree with the other replies, I think this would be a good video for J and Ben to cover because we can always use another video on this plot device
I think they could, but wouldn't. Ollivander probably knows the unfaithful properties of the wood and core, there's also various superstitions in the wizarding world, "Wands of elder never prosper". It would be a marketing disaster. The OG elder wand gets its respect because of the story and legacy of the wizards who keep dying in its quest
Ben: "But because [Voldemort's] soul is so badly ripped up... *tears the edge off the card* ...he doesn't quite have the edge over Dumbledore." Me: I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE
I agree with your theory. But I think Harry is the true ultimate owner of the Elder wand after he dies; after he is struck down by Voldemort. Reason: Death created the wand (original owner). Suffice to say, the original owner (aka death) would always win over the current wand holder, as this was Death's original intention. Death would be the most powerful wizard in a sense. In the meantime, the wand would continue its psuedo-allegiance to the more powerful wizard of a duel. This would include Harry's first duel with Draco involving the Elder wand. Until Harry defeats Death after he is struck down by Voldemort, then resurrects. He then becomes more powerful, ultimate owner. More powerful than it's original owner and creator, Death. Thoughts?
@TheLifeLaVita True, BUT , he wasn't alive either. He was in between the two. Harry BEATS death several times, as a child, in many instances he doesn't go quite as far, but he should have, the when he is in the waiting place between. So there are quite a few answers that are possible for this situation. The beauty of these stories is how simple they are while remaining layered, and with answers that all fit but we don't know which is correct. Children's storys that have become a new universe, with a dew generations of people now building on top of the original , taking simple to a new place, RASalvator would be proud lol.
yeah but no..... when Harry and Draco dueled, Draco was using a different wand (i believe it was his mother's). I dont think Draco ever even touched the elder wand
Voldy kills his horcrux inside Harry... Not Harry himself, which is the only reason he was killable at all. Harry never died and didn't have the blood magic from his mother at the time, as he was 17 and the magic was gone. The only reason voldy didn't win, was he stupidly put a horcrux on Harry and killed his own soul in the last battle with harry. How does everyone miss this incredibly obvious plot point that's mentioned multiple times. Everyone want to drum up theories and doesn't pay attention the the actual letters spelled out, clear as day. 🤦🏿
What about the whole “Wizard learning from the wand and wand learning from the Wizard” line in Deathly Hallows? Wouldn’t that mean the Elder wand “knows” centuries worth of magic, and the current wizard can “learn” that magic?
Good point. Could imply that Voldy already knows all the bad stuff his predecessors did, not being much interested in the type of magic Dumbledore did. But I guess it's not really well explained how this learning takes place.
According to this theory, It's not a matter of learning the magic, it's about how powerful the wizard is. Like Ben said what the wand learns is how powerful the wizard is, the wizard learns nothing from it. It's a state of mind people believe the wand makes them more powerful. I believe it's one of death's tricks.
The wizard using the wand could "level up" or grow more powerful if the elder wand deems them worthy of some of the knowledge it has. Wizards in Harry Potter become more powerful when they learn how to use and control their power. (at least that seems to be what happens) So if the wand's current owner is powerful enough to gain some of the wisdom stored inside it (whether by teaching the wand something new, merit, etc..) then the wand will allow access to some of it's knowledge.
I think this is less about magical knowledge and more about getting acquainted with each other's style and personality. However the Elder Wand's ever-changing allegiance may mean it's particularly skilled at channelling any mage's magic in the most effective way possible
It makes sense. If Peverell created the Elder wand, he was exceptional at wand making as well as fixing them. The wand inherited that ability and thus Harry was able to fix his Olly wand with the Elder wand
I'm sure building on that Sirious would've found it funny to call it Remus more feminine side until he's overheard by Lily and gets slapped while James chokes on his butterbeer^^
Consider this. What if the elder wand lies outside wand lore? What if the elder wand shows loyalty to those who possess Peverall blood? The wand may have betrayed Grindelwald because Dumbledore may be more closely related to the Peverell family than Grindelwald. If the elder wand is a family heirloom and shows more loyalty to someone who possesses more family blood, then maybe it never bonded to Voldemort because he had so very little of his soul left. In addition Harry possessed two other deathly hallows which are also inheritances from the Peverell family. This would mark him and prove to the wand that he has a stronger blood bond to the magical item and therefore the wand would obey Harry over Voldemort
@@timonobel615 There may be more than one way to craft a wand. Olivanders' methods are not the only methods ,even in canon, for witches and wizards to create wands.
"The wizard it judges the victor" What if in the end, Voldemort was actually the true master of the wand - but Death intervened and made the elder wand judge Harry the victor, since Voldemort had cheated death for so long in such unnatural ways?
@@tomn6800 Voldemort made his f first horocrux before he graduated, and then we see in the pensive that he was physically corrupted by dark magic when he went to interview for a job at Hogwarts, meaning he had a considerable number of horocruxes at that point. I love the parallel between the destination of the elder wand to Harry and something Dumbledore said back in Sorcerer's Stone: "Only a person who wanted to find the stone -find it, but not use it- would be able to get it"
I've always seen it like this: The Elder Wand will win in a one-on-one duel, in a direct test of power. But the irony here is that this does not mean you're invincible. The wand just makes you feel like it and that makes you careless and slip up, so Death gets what he wants in the end. The wand creates death and invites it, too. How did the first owner die? He had his throat slit in his sleep. It wasn't a fair fight, but who said it had to be? He got overpowered nonetheless and the wand acknowledges that. Gregorovitch: got robbed when he wasn't paying attention. Dumbledore: disarmed. Draco: had the wand literally pried from him. They showed weakness which the wand wouldn't accept, so it switched alliance.
That's perfectly right! I must only add that in the books Gregotovitch gets Stunned, and so overpowered, by Grindelwald. it's always about who gets overpowered.
@@HugeAirconditionerit does matter when you consider the fact that unicorn hair is the hardest to turn bad, and Draco is one of the few slytherins who stands his ground at the battle of hogwarts

Hufflepuff- Hearts because they are loyal Slytherin- Spades because Knave of Spades Gryffindor- Diamonds because they seek glory Ravenclaw- Club because they are smart and thus most likely to have a book club.
I think I’m going to make a YT video on my own theory that I’m not sure if others have thought of it before. That the Elder Wand doesn’t necessarily pick “Who is the stronger Witch/Wizard.” But is instead loyal to the one who does not fear death, or who has accepted his mortality. Remember, Death first gave the Deathly Hallows to the brothers hoping to eventually trap or trick them toward their own demise. So gifting the Elder Wand to someone who is afraid to die is a perfect way to trap them into a false sense of security which will lead to their inevitable demise. However, if the person who has the Elder Wand has come to accept their own mortality, and has “embraced death” not as a foe, but a friend and natural part of life, then the Elder Wand will serve that person greatly by becoming the wielded friend. This is why Dumbledore was able to possess the wand for so many years, he had accepted death long ago, and was not afraid to give his life in order to save his students and destroy Voldemort. Harry had accepted his death earlier in the story just before letting Voldemort kill him. Afterwords Dumbledore says “You are the true master of death, because the true master does not seek to run away from Death. He accepts that he must die, and understands that there are far, far worse things in the living world than dying." Harry earlier states that “Harry understood at last that he was not supposed to survive. His job was to walk calmly into Death's welcoming arms.” When you consider all of this, it makes perfect sense why Voldemort ended up losing to Harry Potter in the end, despite being the “More Powerful Wizard”. What was the one thing Voldemort was always running from? The reason why he made the Horcrux, why he murdered so many others? It’s because he didn’t want to die. He wanted to “Live forever.” He was so terrified of death, that he killed scores of people in order to avoid facing it. So when it came time to clash wands against Harry, who had already accepted death, the Elder Wand not only chose Harry as it’s true wielder, but also out right despised Voldemort. Witnessing Harry Potters sacrifice first hand in the forbidden forest, the Elder Wand knew that he, Harry Potter should be its new master… not this scummy coward who had not come to accept his own mortality. That’s my theory anyways. I’m not sure how well it hold up to other quotes from Rowling, but I like to think that the there is a lot more going on with what the Elder Wand is thinking that what meets the eye. That it is in fact VERY loyal, but only to those who are the Masters of Death. Not “the most powerful” per say, but the one who no longer fears death, and appreciates it as just another part of life.
HEY GUYS I HAVE A THEORY PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR THOUGHTS "The wand chooses the wizard" is something we are all familiar with. I would be content to believe that this is simply because some wands are better suited for certain wizards, and leave it at that, but for a rather startling realisation I had recently. In HBP, Harry finds various incantations in Snape's old copy of *Advanced Potion-Making,* and he uses *at least two* of these spells, *successfully,* without knowing what they were supposed to do. This completely blows the idea that magic is *all about intent* completely out of the water (although some spells, namely the Cruciatus Curse and the Patronus Charm, do require certain mindsets for them to be effective). In that case, how on earth would either *Levicorpus* or *Sectumsempra* have worked, given that all he had were the incantations? He had absolutely no clue what *Sectumsempra* would do, or he would never have used it. So, why did it work? The only thing, apart from Harry, that played a part in casting that curse was *his wand.* Could the wand itself recognise what a curse is supposed to do from the incantation? Is that why one must always pronounce the incantations correctly, and why non-verbal spells are so difficult? If the way to get a spell to work is to communicate the incantation to your wand, and with non-verbal spells you have to do so *silently,* I can see how it would be difficult. So, what does this *mean?* Does the wand literally choose the wizard? Is it capable of recognising similarities and differences in its own magic and the wizard trying it out, and of rejecting or accepting that wizard accordingly? Does this mean that the Elder Wand is simply the *most sentient* wand, and that's why it's known as the most powerful? That it's just easiest to communicate with, and therefore the easiest wand to use? If that is true, is it possible that it's been picking up unique skills from each wizard that has wielded it, the way Harry's wand picked up some of Voldemort's magic in the graveyard due to the wands being connected? That it is in fact the most powerful wand simply because it has had powerful owners, that only came to own it because of its reputation as the most powerful wand in the first place? It's quite the beautiful circle. This heightened awareness could also be the reason it always changes its allegiance to the one who defeated its former master: That all wands *would* change their allegiance in the same way, but they don't recognise when their master is beaten. If that is true, is Draco Malfoy's hawthorn wand special, or is the Elder Wand just so aware of what is happening that it recognised that someone had beaten its master, and promptly switched allegiance on its own, prompting the hawthorn wand to do the same? On a relatively unrelated note: Could wands theoretically be Confunded by a powerful enough wizard (or a sentient enough wand)? What would happen if a wand *was* Confunded? Could it be made to believe that *Diffindo* has the same effect as *Wingardium Leviosa?* If so, could such a charm be used to confuse the Unforgivable Curses with other incantations? Or could one confuse a wand into thinking that, for example, "FORWARD!" is an incantation? (I now think that Hagrid's "umbrella" has definetely been mended, and more than likely tampered with, by Dumbledore.) Could one convince a wand that its allegiance lies with someone who has never beaten its rightful owner in their life? That its master is a different wizard than it should rightfully be? If so, would one need the Elder Wand in order to achieve such a Confundus Charm, or would one simply have to be a powerful wizard? Barty Crouch Junior did manage to Confund the Goblet of Fire, after all. Discuss.
Wait a minute JK actually said that the Elder Wand is the "most sentient" wand?? I can't believe this If Elder Wand is confirmed the "most sentient" wand, the *other* wands must be at least a *little* sentient... Right?
This is the theory of magic, aka magicology. Some say magic incantations are prayers to supernatural beings, like demons, angels, genii, or gods -- which is why magic is forbidden in judæo-christian tradition. But what if a wand learns the meanings given by its master's intent? Or more generally, the community of wands and wizards learn the meanings given by the present and former wands and wizards? @@neuralwarp That actually makes sense! I've been mentally refining this theory in fits and spurts for awhile now, and this is a better version of the theory I landed on last. This makes so much sense!
Harry is affected by his bogart-dementor the same way he's affected by real dementors. The Hogwarts students have the bogart lesson with Lupin the year after a basilisk terrorized the school. I can imagine some students would be terrified by basilisks after that. If a bogart became a basilisk during one of Lupin's lessons, would every student in the classroom die immediately?
Was it common knowledge among students that the basilisk existed?? Can the boggart turn into something you never saw with your own eyes?? If NOT.. Then it could have never turned into a basilisk.
@@Brams2777 This is true. But far as I recall none of them identified or even realized what had happened to them, other than being petrified for extended periods of time. I recall them saying "yellow eyes" or such
Also there's a theory that death made the deathly hollows specifically to kill the users, as both the elder wand and resurrection stone caused both brothers to die, the only reason the one with the invisibility cloak didn't die is because death was unable to use his wish to not die in a way to kill him
@Sarah Cha Absolutely! I love it. Elder Wand = To the One Ring. I am so not reading the HP and LOTR books the same again. Now question: Who would the HP characters be if they were LOTR characters? It would be cool if Harry was Aragorn considering his character and him getting Godric Sword. Gandalf could be Dumbledore. I like the idea of Luna being Legolas. Gimli could be Ron. Lord Elrond maybe Minerva. Fred and George could be Boromir and Faramir. But Snape is hard, maybe Thorin for him? What do you guys think? Oh and who could Draco be?
I think the wand chose Dumbledore because it recognised that it was actually his curse that did indeed kill his sister Ariana. The Elder wand decided that Dumbledore is a shade more powerful, and more "treacherous" than Grindelwald. It couldn't have known that Dumbledore's kinslaying was an accident, nor that he deeply regretted it for the rest of his life.
Wands respond to nonverbal spells, so they must be able to access their owner's mind. So the wand should have access to Dumbledore's mind and know what happened
But doesn't Harry disarm Draco before Voldy goes tomb raiding? If it had already chosen allegiance to Harry than it wouldn't matter that Voldemort found it first.
That doesn’t matter since the wand has been stolen before without any fighting taking place and the fact that Harry isn’t at the tomb when Voldemort takes it can also be a factor plus it’s possible Harry doesn’t become the true master until after dying and resurrecting.
That’s one of the factors that makes it Harry’s also if you think about it harry finds he can cast a huge patronus on 300 dementors at once also he survives the killing curse at 0 or 1 year old and he defeated the basilisk and destroys a horcrux even frees an elf and he resurrects himself after death
In this particular theory the wand only cares about what's going on with itself. It doesn't care about what's going on with harry and draco and some other wand.
It seems though that the true owner of the wand NEVER ACTUALLY looses a duel. The wand was always taken via non magical means or with the consent of the master. The dumbledore situation seems to be the ONLY time that the elder wand was magically separated from its master and that was with dumbledore's consent. Every other time it has been muggle thieving or some similar variant. The master never gets the opportunity to duel because the person seeking the wand knows, or thinks, they would loose such a duel. Unless dumbledore literally uses a disarming spell against grindelwald, no hijinks involved the streak wont be broken, and we already suspect it will be a magical beast that actually does old grindy in. Why go into a fair duel you know you wont win?
To be fair its said that the brother never lost with the wand, so there were duals with it. He was just murdered and it was taken. You're point, I think, would start after that time.
I believe Dumbledore understands the true nature of the Elder wand (this theory) and not the reputation, and understood it before the duel with Grindelwald, hence why it's taken so long to duel. He figured out a way to convince the wand he is the more powerful wizard either before or during the duel.
THANK YOU. I came to the comment section to say it, but you beat me to it. The elder wand can't be defeated IN A MAGICAL DUEL. But the owner doesn't automatically become invincible otherwise, they need to be powerful and fast enough to respond to every little threat with the wand if they want its unbeatability to kick in... that's what I reckon happened in the astronomy tower. Dumbledore's reaction time was hindered from the events of the year and of that night itself, and he wasn't fast enough to react to Malfoy. It's different from the Voldemort x Harry case in the forest, as Harry purposefully didn't fight back, thus, he never lost a duel to him.
maybe it's not about the more powerful wizard... but about the wizard, who accepts the death, like it's said. and this is the reason, why the wand didn't work well for grindelwald or voldemort. especially not for voldemort, since he wasn't even the real owner of it but also because he didn't accept the death at all. he never could use it's full potential
I also wonder if there is any difference between a formal, one on one, rules and referee duel and a full out, hair pulling, cussing and spitting, street brawl. It seems like the language surrounding the wand is pretty precise in that it is only unbeatable in a duel. It doesn't even promise stronger spell casting or an easier time channeling magic.
I feel like this really is one of the best interpretations of the elder wand just because it invites death just as much as the other hallows, good stuff.
I have only one problem with this theory: Dumbledore sees himself as the master of the Elder wand and actively tried to break its power by dying undefeated. That means he believed (or knew from experience) that the wand truly has unusual powers and that he won its allegiance from Grindelwald. Dumbledore surely wouldn't have given the wand's power any further thought if he had beaten Grindelwald in a fair 1-on-1 by being just a tiny bit more powerful or if he didn't witness any of that power throughout the half century that he owned it.
Yeah, he mentions that Voldemort is the only one who was powerful enough to recognize that he wasn't actually getting a boost from the Elder Wand, but he also said Dumbledore was equally powerful, so he really should have realized it as well if that were the case. I suspect Dumbledore had to defeat Grindelwald via some manner of magical distraction at the end of their wizarding duel, and has every reason to believe in its power seeing Grindelwald's magic up close without and with its additional power.
But even this holds up, I think, as Dumbledore would have been at that time the closest thing to the master of death. He was in possession of the Resurrection Stone and the Elder Wand, and he had also at one stage been in possession of the Cloak. He never held all three at the same moment, but he got closer than anyone. And you could argue that as Harry - the possessor of the Cloak - was "Dumbledore's man", he sort of "had" the Cloak too. What undid him was that he was weakened and dying in the moment Draco found him. If he had still been physically strong, I don't think the wand would have left him, except for Harry.
I think Dumbledore's weakness lay in the placebo effect. He seems to be torn up by guilt and regret a lot of the time by his mistakes, and, whilst other people saw him as brilliant and very powerful, I think he probably had a low self image and some form of imposter syndrome due to his regret. I wonder if he attributed powerful feats to the wand rather than himself due to this mental distortion. He also mentioned that the Hallows was one of his weaknesses, and I wouldn't be surprised if he ignored anything that didn't conform to the 'most powerful wand' thing because, if he didn't, he would have had to accept that his greatest mistakes were due to him chasing a lie, taking away the last justification from his actions; that the dreams he abandoned his family for were worth attaining.
I think it can be flighty and also more powerful. The Elder Wand did repair the holly wand, which nothing else was capable of, but the rules could still apply.
I think at that time Dumbledore was the "ace" of his time, so the wand therefore worked for him. Instead of waiting for Harry to be the only person the wand will work for, I'd guess it will work for the strongest wizard in the world AT THAT MOMENT, regardless of if there may be stronger wizards in the future. I commented a similar critique above
@sweet-rain Jewel Hufflepuff is hard work and grit, so clubs represent that. Ravenclaw is knowledge and intellect, so diamonds represent the higher mentality. Hearts is obvious, bravery and courage, and spades represent the natural order of things.
How in the world Rowling was able to think up the whole incredibly deep and complicated concept of the deathly hallows. The thought behind it goes into such fine detail and original backstory that it just blows my mind that one person can have all of this stuff bottled up in their head and can unpack it all into a story like this. Pretty cool
The Elder Wand is actually supremely loyal to its first owner. Death. She gave the Elder Wand to the eldest Peverell, but the wand remained loyal and changed hands all those times to show its loyalty to its mistress.
That's something interesting to think about. But I remembered that Mr. Ollivander said that "the wand chooses the wizard, not the other way around". So when Harry got the wand, it was because the wand chose him to be its master.
Jay and Ben, would y’all ever do some Dragon Prince content? Y’all like avatar it seems, and you’ve mentioned Dragon Prince before. I’d live to see yalls theories on it.
i'm not gonna lie... 3:17 i thought when you were talking about the wood and core of the Elder wand, you were gonna say "the wood is Elder, and the core is Wand" and I just **facepalm**
If thestral hair and elder wood are both very powerful but difficult to control then in the hands of the strongest wizard it really would be of legendary power. Such a wizard would be the most able to control the wand with their incredible skill while using its raw power.
“The Diamonds are shiny and exciting; they yearn to be seen and recognized. The Hearts are compassionate and loving; they wish for everyone to get along. The Spades are quick and strong; they want power and control. The Clubs are very specific; they require attention to detail to be right” I found this online but just at face value I definitely thought the same as you until I did research on what those symbols actually meant!
I like this theory. It also would seem that having the elder wand with actually be a bit of a disadvantage. It means that it would be impossible for you to defeat a more powerful wizard in a duel, whereas I'm sure that normally when two wizards duel the possibility of the weaker wizard winning is not zero
It’s also neat cause Harry’s repairing of his wand almost shows he knew it was no better than a normal wand, but he wanted his wand back Also 🐍 ♠️ 🦡 ♥️ 🦅 ♦️ 🦁 ♣️
@@aivylotus4583 Unless that's just how powerful Harry is. Plus, all we really know is that Hermione couldn't fix Harry's wand and that Ollivander doesn't know how to do it. It's never specifically stated that wands are strictly incapable of the feat. We've all assumed that Harry can do it because he uses the elder wand, but you may just need to be an exceptionally powerful wizard to pull it off. Frankly, I've always thought it weird that the one thing we see the elder wand do that is special is not the thing it's famous for, unless you count fixing a wand as dueling with it, to which I say, poppycock!
Or it could have been that the Elder Wand was different to other wands in that it amplified the magic that was already there, far more efficiently than any other wand, it’s legendary as a powerful wand for a reason. We always see Dumbledore doing pedestrian, simple tasks that wouldn’t have outlined him as much more monstrously powerful than any other wizard, probably to ensure the wand remains covert. He could’ve performed miracles but he preferred the stealthy option, otherwise he would’ve had other Hallow hunters on his back the moment he outed himself. The Elder Wand isn’t just only powerful because of its destructive potential.
@@krynwomble3937 I have a suspicion that you didn't watch the video before writing that. The theory is that the elder wand isn't particularly powerful, but instead always chooses the more powerful user in any given duel in it's quest to find it's true master, the master of death. Always ending up in the hands of powerful individuals has given it the reputation over time of being powerful in and of itself, when it isn't really special at all.
It's all down to the wording Antioch Peverell used when he asked Death for the wand. He asked for a wand more powerful than any in existence. He never stipulated that the wand should also make the user more powerful or invincible.
"The hair may die and need replacing" leads me to think that, if the elder wand is treated very well, it is prone to happiness and the thestral hair might come alive. Maybe that's when the extra power actually comes into play. I think that is part of why it seemed so loyal to Dumbledore--he wasn't egotistical and power mad, but he was powerful. He didn't boast about having it, but he used it to perform acts of great good. I think the wand takes into account more than just raw power, seeking a wizard with power tempered by wisdom. When it's current master fails to make it come alive, the thestral hair is dead, it's just a wand, and it will move on to the next wizard who might have what it takes to wake it up. The elder wand never betrayed Dumbledore, and I don't think it would have if he'd chosen to defend himself. Like the third brother, he had the wisdom to face death as an old friend when his time came. The wand went back to being just a wand, fickle, seeking the next wizard with the wisdom to wake it.
It's like the wand is a living tier list for the harry potter universe. Think about it; harry potter is highly skilled in both light and dark magic, with his knowledge about powerful magical spells and objects, powerful in both love for good and hatred towards evil, and overall, he has always been in the right place at the right time since he got that first letter. The wand senses that luck, as well as the sheer force of will built by Harry early on, and it says shoot, I'm with this guy!
@Super Greyflash Yeah clubs always remind me of the kind of stuff you find on a coat of arms anyway, that's more related to shivalry and bravery. You never see a heart on a coat of arms.

the rule is very clear: the owner of the elder wand cannot lose a *DUEL* Harry and Voldemort didn't *bow to each other* and *count to 3* , that's not a duel, not even close
I understand where you are coming from but I dont think you need to bow and count if both persons are fighting to the death. I dont think you need red tape to know you are in a fight. Or war. Kind of adding to the the ‘Thestrals are the anti-unicorn’ idea; in the first book Firenze says that a unicorn is a symbol of purity and innocence (innocence in this situation means child-like innocence or in other words ignorance of the darker aspects of life)

It seems that the elder wand is still extremely beneficial in performing optimal results with a spell, as long as it’s not confrontational. For example, dumbledore used it to kill the spirits when him and Harry found the ring in the cave. Since he wasn’t dueling, he performed amazing spells
Dumbledore could do this without the Elder wand though
Something that would better emphasize your point is Harry, after the final confrontation, uses the elder wand to preform Reparo on his own wand, completely fixing it which is a feat no other wand could accomplish
"the wand chooses the wizard Mr Potter"... Even the elder wand.
Especially the elder wand lol. More than any other
more like "The wand chooses ---- Mr Potter"
The ELDER wand chooses the wizard and then forgets about it twenty days later.
I think olivander made this wands as such.
I still wonder to this very day how no one in wizarding history ever considered that the elder wand acts like all other wands in terms of ownership
Edit: I actually realized that this theory covers the plot hole from the cursed Child that Delphi became the master of the elder wand cause she disarmed harry.
The answer: The True Master of the Elder Wand is Death. The Duel is never lost for Death.
That is what I was thinking
Very true nice theory
And if Harry survived death twice, technically to the wand Harry really is the master of death, and that’s why it works wonders for him only
I was just typing out a comment about this.
@@PraetorPaktu It's wrong though, cause duels can end without death easily. Duh.
(On a sidenote, if the oldest brother had been smarter plus I believe that the wand has been blessed with great power, which together could have allowed Death to lose, and the wand would not have led to a bloody history.)
Initially Death imbued the wand with the rule that it must be "won" by for example expelliarmus or a physical tussle.
So the wand in voldemorts hand wont allow harm on anyone at Hogwarts.
best explanation yet
I like your therapy because Harry has beaten death several times 😂
I believe this the most. It makes a lot a sense actually.
The story of them being Death's own Hallows seems to me the sort of legend that might have sprung up around such creations."
The books also explain why Voldemort can't hurt anyone in Hogwarts. It says clearly that when Harry sacrificed himself to save everyone at the school, he instituted the same magical protection that Lily gave him as a child when she sacrificed herself to save him. Everyone harry sacrificed himself for could not be harmed by Voldemort at that point.
"Don't you get it? I was ready to die to stop you from hurting these people"
"But you did not!"
"I meant to, and that's what did it. I've done what my mother did. They're protected from you. Haven't you noticed how none of the spells you put on them are binding? You can't torcher them. You can't touch them. You don't learn from your mistakes, Riddle, do you?"
Don't overthink it with this crazy fan-theory stuff. The books do a good job of explaining it clearly. Most of these fan-theory people never even read the books... lol.

In book 3 when they travel back in time, Harry realizes that he had the power to get rid of the dementors all along instead of waiting for someone else.
I really like this theory!!

Dumbledore didn’t fight either so that could be another reason for why he lost to Draco
Dumbledore didn't get the opportunity to choose to not fight. He was disarmed by surprise.
@@PristinePerceptions yeah but he planned to die, he wouldn't fight either way
@@joeyattack99 He planned to die by Snape's hand.
Not a bad point
It was also stolen by Grindelwald not won either and I can't imagine Gregorovitch dueling, however can see him buying it off someone who didn't know it's true value. In it's long life you can imagine owners just dying nothing to do with dueling, maybe in a freak floo powder or broomstick accident.
The elder wand aligns itself to the will of the first brother... interesting 🤔
@Haku infinite well that was the point of Harry as a character, the boy who lived, cheater of death
It’s the same with dumbledore... he didn’t die dueling but when voldey takes the wand from the grave, the wand obeys him.
Dumbledore vs Grindelwald
Harry vs Voldemort
If Harry is an Ace, then who's the Joker card? Neville 'I'm Awesoooooome' Longbottom, that's who.

If the Elder Wand is as powerful as everyone says it is (and considering it performed unheard of magic like mending Harry’s wand), would one be able to place the fidelius charm on it so they were the only ones who knew what it looked like or who had it?
Could you imagine being the elder wand and waiting for hundreds, maybe thousands of years to find your one true master and reveal your incredible power only to fix some old, broken, clearly inferior wand and then be snapped into pieces
it wasn't broken in the book; that's what ticked me off about the movie, how is the most powerful wand in the world so easily broken? they reduced a deathly hallow to an old twig; so mad

Funny how it was " mastered" by a descendant of the 3rd brother. The humble one, who lived a long life and met death ad a friend.
Now the question is:
Can a wand maker, like Ollivander’s, make another elder wand with thestral hair and elder wood?
They could probably _make_ the wand but it simply just wouldn't be as powerful and have the properties of the proper Elder Wand
It would take a wandmaker of exceptional skill. Ollivander might be able to pull it off
While I don't disagree with the other replies, I think this would be a good video for J and Ben to cover because we can always use another video on this plot device

Bro underrated!! I don’t even think they noticed
Thoughts?
Harry potter never dies, hence never resurrects
“They’re only dangerous 8 hours a month” or as I'm sure Sirius and James liked to call it: that time of the month 😂

You make it sound like women transfigure into some kind of monster once a month.
Oh wait...
That is not how wands work
@@timonobel615 There may be more than one way to craft a wand. Olivanders' methods are not the only methods ,even in canon, for witches and wizards to create wands.

"The wizard it judges the victor"
What if in the end, Voldemort was actually the true master of the wand - but Death intervened and made the elder wand judge Harry the victor, since Voldemort had cheated death for so long in such unnatural ways?
that kinda makes sense since harry accepted death just like 3rd peverell brother
Also makes sense cause this was Voldemort’s first combat situation post horcrux.

@@tomn6800 Voldemort made his f first horocrux before he graduated, and then we see in the pensive that he was physically corrupted by dark magic when he went to interview for a job at Hogwarts, meaning he had a considerable number of horocruxes at that point. Isaac Gruver exactly but Calvin said that it was his first battle after horcruxes
I must only add that in the books Gregotovitch gets Stunned, and so overpowered, by Grindelwald.
it's always about who gets overpowered.
fun theory, the wand lore is also interesting when you look at whose wand Harry uses in the final dual. Draco's wand, which has a unicorn core.

I think I’m going to make a YT video on my own theory that I’m not sure if others have thought of it before.
That the Elder Wand doesn’t necessarily pick “Who is the stronger Witch/Wizard.”
But is instead loyal to the one who does not fear death, or who has accepted his mortality.
He accepts that he must die, and understands that there are far, far worse things in the living world than dying."
Harry earlier states that “Harry understood at last that he was not supposed to survive. His job was to walk calmly into Death's welcoming arms.”
When you consider all of this, it makes perfect sense why Voldemort ended up losing to Harry Potter in the end, despite being the “More Powerful Wizard”.

HEY GUYS I HAVE A THEORY PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR THOUGHTS
"The wand chooses the wizard" is something we are all familiar with.
So, what does this *mean?*
Does the wand literally choose the wizard?
I can't believe this
If Elder Wand is confirmed the "most sentient" wand, the *other* wands must be at least a *little* sentient... Right?
@@lyraparry3321 Pretty intriguing theory and I agree with it.
This is why incantations are in ancient languages, even when they're new ones like levicorpus and sectumsempra.
@@neuralwarp That actually makes sense! I've been mentally refining this theory in fits and spurts for awhile now, and this is a better version of the theory I landed on last. This makes so much sense!
And what is all the swishing and flicking for Wingardium Leviosa if Harry can just point his wand with a word Sectumsempra and it works?
Harry is affected by his bogart-dementor the same way he's affected by real dementors. The Hogwarts students have the bogart lesson with Lupin the year after a basilisk terrorized the school. I can imagine some students would be terrified by basilisks after that. If a bogart became a basilisk during one of Lupin's lessons, would every student in the classroom die immediately?
Was it common knowledge among students that the basilisk existed?? Can the boggart turn into something you never saw with your own eyes?? If NOT.. Then it could have never turned into a basilisk.

@@Val.Kyrie. That would be reasonable fear as they very rarely went outright physical(dementor's kiss)

"The wand is not the ace in the hole; you are."
Getting some strong "There is no secret ingredient" vibes from that.
That’s why Voldy said the wand didn’t perform exquisitely for him-Snape knew that Harry had disarmed Draco but he didn’t tell Voldy that.
Elderwand: Nat20 vs all low-level targets. -20 penalty vs higher-level targets.
Why do I love Harry Potter so much?
Maybe it’s these guys... yeah definitely. Love Y’all
dude same I literally read/watched HP for the first time after getting into their channel solely because I wanted to watch their content
Hearts: Hufflepuff
Spade: Slytherin
Diamond: Gryffindor
Club: Ravenclaw
@sweet-rain Jewel I would say this order:
Gryffindor; Hearts
Hufflepuff; Clubs
Ravenclaw; Diamonds
Slytherin; Spades
@sweet-rain Jewel Hufflepuff is hard work and grit, so clubs represent that. Ravenclaw is knowledge and intellect, so diamonds represent the higher mentality. Hearts is obvious, bravery and courage, and spades represent the natural order of things.
Given how many Ravenclaws bullied Luna, I wouldn't mind clubbing a few Ravenclaws.
How in the world Rowling was able to think up the whole incredibly deep and complicated concept of the deathly hallows. The thought behind it goes into such fine detail and original backstory that it just blows my mind that one person can have all of this stuff bottled up in their head and can unpack it all into a story like this. Pretty cool
You essentially made an 18 minute rant to explain that the elder wand is basically the one ring to rule them all.
Or a gold digger.
Have a good day
You too!
SuperCarlinBrothers Omg I love your videos love your theory’s I always believe most of of them
Congrats on getting a heart and a comment from SCB!! 🥳🥳
Anxiety! at the Disco Thank you I never got a heart to found before so I’m like freaking out right now
En d Just the first two I saw, lol
The Elder Wand is actually supremely loyal to its first owner.
Death.
She gave the Elder Wand to the eldest Peverell, but the wand remained loyal and changed hands all those times to show its loyalty to its mistress.
That's something interesting to think about. But I remembered that Mr. Ollivander said that "the wand chooses the wizard, not the other way around".
So when Harry got the wand, it was because the wand chose him to be its master.
Fun fact: The person who is actually first, typically doesn’t comment first

Jay and Ben, would y’all ever do some Dragon Prince content? Y’all like avatar it seems, and you’ve mentioned Dragon Prince before. I’d live to see yalls theories on it.
I would love that.
i'm not gonna lie...
Definitely

In my imagination gryffindor and ravenclaw are swapped. Possibly this is just because of the colors but I still think it fits better

I have been watching you guys for years and let me tell you every day you make my day. my brother and I love you, best RUclips channel in the world
I’m so glad you used the cards to explain this because if you didn’t I wouldn’t understand a thing! 🤣
I like this theory. It also would seem that having the elder wand with actually be a bit of a disadvantage. It means that it would be impossible for you to defeat a more powerful wizard in a duel, whereas I'm sure that normally when two wizards duel the possibility of the weaker wizard winning is not zero
Ben: Mostiest sensiest
Me: THAT'S THE MOSTIEST SENSIEST WORD I'VE HEARD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!!
it's a perfectly cromulent word.
It’s also neat cause Harry’s repairing of his wand almost shows he knew it was no better than a normal wand, but he wanted his wand back

Isn't that a paradox? Normal wands can't repair wands.
Ben: and when push comes to shove
Me: I will send a fully armed battalion to remind you of my love

I was thinking the same :)
@Super Greyflash Yeah clubs always remind me of the kind of stuff you find on a coat of arms anyway, that's more related to shivalry and bravery. You never see a heart on a coat of arms.
Joseph Gonzalez I said the same, and explained , bit still the same.

have something to say:
...I am gathering people for a good cause - to make
youtube better, by reporting and flagging content
that is harmful and/or sexist and/or racist and/or
pornografic and/or whatnotelse.
I have done this for years, with success, but
thanks to RUclips getting worse and worse
and thanks to some petty people
using the report-system for petty-revenge
(report someone who does not like the tv-show
you like or somethin') it all got worse.
So now, as YT needs higher numbers of reports
to take Action, i made a Wiki.
Yeah, no kidding, a Wiki. I know, unorthodox, but
i made a Wiki to help people help youtube. Help

Here, i hope i can do good by giving people
the Links leading directly to bad people that

Ben: The Ace, the most powerful wizard.
Me: *thinks of the Joker card*
Well yes but actually, no.
the rule is very clear: the owner of the elder wand cannot lose a *DUEL*
Harry and Voldemort didn't *bow to each other* and *count to 3* , that's not a duel, not even close
I understand where you are coming from but I dont think you need to bow and count if both persons are fighting to the death. I dont think you need red tape to know you are in a fight. Or war. It is what it is and you know it especially when your life and/or those you love are in danger. You don't need a referee to tell you that you have to fight or die.
This is a nice way to look at it though it doesn't make sense because bowing is just showing respect or being nice according to Voldemort in the graveyard .....so it still is a duel even if they don't bow
Even if dumblydor wasn't a 4 on the tower, he still would have lost the wand, because he didn't want to fight draco. Same reason Harry lost in the forest.
No, actually. Dumbledore planned to die.
@@ProfAzimov correct. Therefore, it wouldn't matter if dumblydor was a king, or a four. The want would go to Malfy because dumbles didn't fight. He wanted to die.
Was that not clear from my comment?
Thanks for addressing the fact that the wand did perform at least one extraordinary bit of magic in fixing Harry's original wand.
Because the people wielding it failed the ruling of ownership
It makes some sense... but it doesn't explain how the wand can do things other wands can't (like repair a broken wand).
It was stated that wands can't be repaired...
I'm no longer sure about *anything* when it comes to the Elder wand...
This is the most scientific and logical breakdown of a piece of fiction I’ve ever seen…and it really makes sense. Oh, Death…you clever clever shrew. What a great trick to play on whoever wanted the Elder Wand. It makes so much sense that Harry would destroy it.
“Elder wand, what’s his power level?”
“It’s over 9000!”
Yes! HARRY HAS GONE SUPER SAIYAN! He must be god level now. LoL.
