If anything, this short documentary only makes me love her even more. She is a lovely, brilliant and courageous survivor. Good for her. Good for Angelica Houston...
I REALLY appreciate your balanced look at the person you’re featuring. Thank you for avoiding the unproven, often hurtful rumors. I just love your content. ❤
Angelica is such an icon. The stories she has to tell are so nuts that you'd believe them to be fiction. She's one of those that i think would be fascinating to talk to.
Wow, what a beautiful piece! I thought I knew about Angelica and her family, but obviously not. Your work is always on point, incredibly informative, and so tastefully done.
She is an extremely underrated actress! Plus, I imagine that she is a very sweet person in real life. Don't know why I think this, maybe it's something about all the character she plays have some enduring quality. I suppose that's aspects of her actual personality coming through. Jack, I think you really blew it!

I always just adored Angelica! Certainly not your usual Hollywood glamour girl...and I'm sure that's a lot of my draw to her. But besides being an amazing actress, she just gives so much of herself to her projects. She is just enthralling.
Anjelica Huston is an incredible talent with a fascinating life story! Her experiences only add depth to her performances, and I'm here for all the juicy details!
She is one of the most beautiful women, crazy to me that one type catches the eye of many (almost like bandwagon) but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I always thought she was tops.❤ Addams Family and The Royal T 's were two of my favorites.
Her father was a difficult and often disruptive man, always stirring up trouble. Despite that, I really admire Anjelica Huston, both as a person and as an actress. She’s truly talented and has always stood out to me
I think that Angelica H. is a great actress. It is so blatantly obvious that woman in many industries are told lies and insults to keep their paycheck down.
I had a friend who came of age around the same time as Angelica Houston. She described the whole 'sexual liberation' era as being secretly terrible for women. Since 70s feminism hadn't yet taken deep roots, women were still expected to be subservient to men, even being their punching bags, but were also expected to be completely sexually available to them from the point of puberty onwards. There were many decent men, sure, but nothing holding back men who wanted to use, abuse, and dispose of women. Given how much women's financial and career prospects were tied to the men in their lives, women were so vulnerable.
I also never fell for her act. Just a daytime talk show host exploiting people, no better than Jerry Springer. Actually, she's worse than Jerry because he never pretended to be anything other than what he was.
I worked at an art foundry(Artworks Foundry Berkeley), Where we cast Robert Graham sculptures Where we also had gallery openings for his newest sculptures, where I first met Angelica, to my surprise she was very gracious and kind, I will never forget that.
She is such an exquisite woman. I've only known her in her more mature career so it's very interesting to hear about her early life . I'm sure that being a big actor comes with a certain amount of narcissism but why are there so many piece of s*** men in Hollywood😢
Way before Angelica was even born, Houston, Man Ray and Dr. Hodel were indicted of the “grape” of Dr’s child. Look it up. There’s a lot regarding these figures and the documents are there for review.
Here we go again. We’re titillated at the beginning with a short intro about her father sleeping with her friend, but don’t find out the story until the very end. Not quite clickbait, but close. In-between we get the story of Angelica’s life which was actually very interesting. But, it’s just not cool to intentionally keep us waiting until the very end. Not cool, not cool, not cool.
She is one of the most beautiful women, crazy to me that one type catches the eye of many (almost like bandwagon) but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and I always thought she was tops.❤
She is my absolute favorite Morticia Addams but I also loved her in Witches. It's sad knowing her struggles but worked hard for her accomplishments. Don't know if that situation with Oprah is true but Oprah is hardly someone that should hold that against Anjelica. It's great that she was able to mend some fences with the rest of her family though.
Her Gretta Conroy is one of the greatest performances of any actress of her generation. That she wasn't even nominated (Cher won that year) just goes to show what a joke the Oscars are
John Huston sleeping with a teenager doesn't surprise me....John Huston was friends with George Hodel. George was outed by his LEO son who found his diaries...and believed his father, George, murdered Elizabeth Short. George impregnated his own daughter. The Exquisite Corpse theory made alot of sense. John and George hung out with surrealistic artists who often depicted women in disjointed, disarticulated, limbs ascew sometimes dissected and/or decapitated. The theory goes that George's murder and dissected Elizabeth Short and subsequently posed her body where she could be found as a way of participating, like his friends, in the surrealistic art movement. George was an accomplished surgeon who learned how to cut a woman in half, an extremely specialized surgery not many learned. John, in my mind, will always be connected to George Hodel and Elizabeth Short. George was extremely narcissistic so I doubt he kept his "art" secret....if anyone knew, it was those in his inner circle, John being one of them. Much like Nicole Kidman, Fiona Barnett and Stanley Kubrick are connected through Eyes Wide Shut. There's a reason Kubrick wanted Nicole to star in that film. I wonder what she really knows about her father. Dancano investigates, I believe, does a deep dive on George Hodel, surrealism and Elizabeth Short which is fascinating. Interesting vid.
I read a book about the Black Dahlia and it said the killer was a dentist who lived in that Aztec Frank Lloyd Wright House used in the Aviator. This post is on point since Huston, the dentist, the artist Man Ray , and many others had parties that rivaled P Diddy.
Dr George Hodel. Not a dentist but he abused his daughter for years. J Huston tried to assault her. She gave birth to her father's baby. The baby sought them out. Was horrified to find her real family. Steve Hodel his son wrote a book about it.
@@jeffreywillstewart Actually, he was a gynacologist- Dr. George Hodel- whose son Steve, a homicide detective, unearthed evidence that he tortured and killed Elizabeth Short. If true, it's ridiculous that Oprah thought that her acting abilities were on the same level as Angelica Huston's. Oprah has had major success and is exceptional at what she does. You would think that would be enough. Angelica Huston is an absolutely outstanding actress. I've loved her in everything I've seen but, my absolute favorite is Agnes Brown. It's not as heavy as other roles she's had but she really nails the struggle as well as the humor in that character. She made Agnes Brown feel familiar and relatable.
Oprah was phenomenal in The Colored Purple and some later projects. She is not a bad actress in the slightest. BUT, if she really is holding a grudge against Houston for beating her, she’s being ridiculous.
