Yes we won, yes Defoe retired, but you can see in Stewarts goal at Wembley he learnt that from Defoe, Defoe used to use that trick quite a bit. Just because he retired does not mean he didn't teach fellow attacking players and the squad as a whole new things.
@@zakrobertson5212 bet it was just as glorious the 5th time. Still this is the time to enjoy it 100 times if necessary because once season starts, it becomes a distant memory
Fantastic atmosphere at Trafalgar Square on Friday evening and on the day. Both sets of fans were mixing together in friendly, good natured interaction before and after the game. I was at the Wrexham v Bromley FA Trophy Final the next day where things were greatly different as Bromley fans were absolute c***s after the game and could have triggered some serious trouble. Sunderland, Wycombe and Wrexham fans were all about supporting their team, Bromley fans were all about hatred toward Wrexham. I was impressed by Gareth Ainsworth after the whistle, always thought he was a knob but he has made me change my mind - now I think he just looks like a knob! 😉 😄 😄 Once I heard that VAR would be used I knew Wycombe were in trouble. Their greatest weapons were niggling fowls plus time wasting to disrupt the flow of play and make the opposition lose their cool. The relief at the end of the game was unbelievable. Sunderland escaping what seamed like a lifetime in League 1 and finally beating the new Wembley jinx.
We just knew we were going to win this. Atmosphere was completely different from previous Wembley games.
If MK dons had beat Wycombe, It would’ve been a much better watch
