cute kids. what a heartwarming success story. These children were fortunate enough to be born to a white two parent middle to upper class family with good medical insurance. One must wonder though, how realistic it is to assume that ALL children born with this condition will have the same level of care made available to them? Not Very. Kids who come from one parent households, kids whose parents are at or below poverty level or on a fixed income, foster kids, or those who get basic "free" medical insurance thru medi-cade or medi-cal programs will have a very different and 'less tidy' medical journey story to tell. For these kids, opportunities and choices about/for Medical treatment, Hospitals, Doctors, Surgical procedures and follow up care in the extended medical community are severely limited, understaffed, subject to long waiting lists and in some cases, simply not available at all thru their insurance coverage.
Ok why did you have to turn this cute ass video into a political essay, I agree with what you're saying but this isn't the video to comment this type of shit
If u want to help kids who don’t have the opportunity to get this type of medical care u can donate to different organisations like operation smile who help kids worldwide:]
Shriners hospitals provide cleft surgery to families in need free of charge, including assistance with travel for the procedure. There are other organizations that assist as well. As a matter of fact, Dr. Redett has made countless trips to perform cleft surgeries overseas for children who do not have access to experienced cleft surgeons that we have in the US. How many children have you seen in the US with an unrepaired cleft? The reason most people don't know much about clefts is not because they are rare (one in 700), but because they are largely unseen, since they're repaired so early in life, no matter their income, in the US.
