Infact the grand father , father , son strategy is very successful with other indicators too, like Macd , stochastic etc !!
But no one can beat RSI. I have done relentless research and no indicator comes close to RSI.
However RSI needs different settings for different assets and different time frames for accuracy! I found this with decision making algorithms and confined with back testing
