I remember watching this race after I got home from school on this Monday afternoon, and this was the most heartbreaking loss as a Jeff Gordon fan that I witnessed as a kid, I was 9 then and I'm 21 now and this one still breaks my heart. This was worse than Phoenix and Texas in the spring of this same year.
Imagine growing up as a Carl Edwards fan. Lots of heartbreaking moment and just too top it off, I'm a Packers fan too. Lots of just heartbreaking moments, like that 2011 championship and the 2016 championship race. 2009 Dega race. I feel ya man

I remember this race like it was yesterday. Once Jeff messed up on the final restart I decided to turn off the tv cause I knew it was over from there. There were multiple opportunities for Jeff to win races in 2010 but just couldn't buy one. It was like the racing gods were against him that year because he was always at the wrong place at the wrong time. As a Jeff Gordon fan, I was filled with so much hatred that year. Just goes to show that nobody is perfect and we just have to accept what has happened and move on. Still a good finish for Jeff in this race despite it could've been better.
Jeff didn't mess up, Jeff got punted out of the way. There was nothing else that could have been done to prevent that.

Would've liked to see Burton not have his tire trouble. I was trying to find the lap he and Hamlin had contact that might have caused his flat tire. I always thought of him as the driver of the '99. But he actually spent more years with Childress: 9 years in the 31 (same amount of time as in the '99) but about 1/3 of a season in the #30.
Martinsville has always bit Burton unfairly.
DW at lap 221-223 has not aged well....

imagine if Dale Sr was not dead sure the gen4 cars will stills on the prime of generations and had an great better improvement. the fact is fans didnt not blame it on car aero unfortunate they like it but in case of that should it Nascar be concern through on Dale sr head gear and also to improve the safety
This one obviously hurts as a Gordon fan but in a way it was really fun seeing him put his elbows out and absolutely fuck Kenseth up on the back stretch
