I think he is avoidant attachment much more. It's common for an avoidant to sabotage it like this, like when he celebrated after she said "no" at the altar, just proves his interna schemas does not allow him to access and express emotions of sorrow, sadness, rejection.
He’s definitely brought up in a white middle class neighbourhood and school so that has to have a big influence
Yes! I definitely felt like I could relate to Deepti in that regard. Im black and once upon a time I literally heard the same script from black guys I dated, "you're like a relative," " I can't do this, I usually date this race of women" and it was a weird thing to experience

Deepti is so inspirational. When she said "I don't have room in my life for anyone who doesn't see me in the best way" my jaw dropped. I think I'll forever remember that. It's so exhausting and painful to be in relationships where you always have to prove yourself to people and you'll never be enough for them. Best decision ever Deepti! You go girl! You're gorgeous, you're wise, you're kind and amazing!
Positivity is good for sure, but isn't it suspicious when everyone in your life says you're a goddess? As if there's zero flaws? Natalie's parents and some other parents I could relate to, they knew about their child's flaws and loved her the way she was. But Deepti is always on a pedastal, literally everyone worships her, it's something I can't understand. It's like she filters out every person that isn't showering her with praises, or says the tiniest bit of criticism. Seems a bit stuckup to be honest. The people on Love is Blind were almost all fake, anyway. Including the hosts.
From an Indian male perspective, I echo what Deepti is saying. I don't have time or space for anyone who does not see me in the best way. But, any person has to manifest their best self. Manifesting means putting the work in.
This woman is so impressive because she is such a great example of being open, healthy, and self assured.

Genuinely cannot fathom how someone doesn’t find her beautiful. When I first saw her on the show my first reaction was “she is so gorgeous”. He is so wrong.

I am grateful for Shake for one reason. When my nieces, nephews and my son start to date I can show them this is what a narcissist sounds like. Run and don’t look back. It was hard listening to him at the reunion but it was hilarious coz literally everyone’s face was so over it. I also screamed when Kyle said to Shaina my biggest regret is not proposing to Deepti. And then he looked at shake and said “you messed that up”. And then shake says “I’d be happy to facilitate” like gtfo bro. No one asked you and no one needs you. It was so frustrating watching everyone try to get through to him and he just could not get it. I applaud Deepti for being so articulate and classy and she explained everything in plain English and he still didn’t get it. I died after the alter when Shake said “it’s ok.. I have a reservation at nobu on Sunday”. Like sure buddy. He was trying so hard to act cool but everyone just felt sorry for him. Deepti you’re such a breath of fresh air and I feel like your beautiful face needs to be on a coin coz u really are a queen.

this was a really great interview to watch. Deepti is such a graceful woman, she has an amazing energy & i wish her the very best. had great chemistry with the interviewer, idk her or have ever seen this channel but to watch them talk, like girlfriends, it’s very cool. it feels very casual & fun, she’s a great interviewer.

I think Deepti is a wonderful person. I just do not understand why she chose a clearly fat-phobic man who (as a man of Indian descent) seemed weirdly proud that he'd only dated blondes and no Indian women, when she is of Indian descent, not blonde and used to be overweight. If he had been good to her, would his fat-phobia have been acceptable to her in a partner? It's a side-eye on that from me.
I can't speak for her, but I'm sure she was trying to see the good in a person and trying to figure out what insecurities they have to make them think this way. Most of us give leeway. Everyone has faults. Of course, he sucks and treated her like crap, but I'm sure she saw something real/good withing him.
Well she also did mention that she generally preferred and only dated white men and even now after things didnt work out it looks like shes going for Kyle who is clearly not indian..(so it looks like it was both ways and they did mention that as a common thing between them in the show) ..
I did hope that after this experiment they each would choose indian partners but so far I am not seeing that...
You bring up an interesting point I’ve seen multiple times. Sometimes, we think we’re the exception? It’s so human to believe we’re special and we can change someone. People love feeling that a relationship is different and not typical. As she said, she wanted to lean in in the experience and her mindset was to see what could happen. I think their emotional connection made her want to him a chance. She seems self-aware so if someone asked her in an interview, we would understand her perspective better. I’m only speculating.
I came across a couple indian American guys who were proud to date white girls. I even had strong feelings for one and didn’t know he was into white girls till months later. Someone asked him if he dated indian girls.. and he just had a long pause and said.. “no I’ve never dated indian girls.. I’ve only dated white girls..” with a proud nod and smile? I was like wtf. Fast forward and he’s married to a white girl with blue eyes. What is it with white girls-blonde hair and blue eyes? Why is that supposed to be the ultimate attraction? And then I heard from another indian friend that a lot of her guy cousins only wanted to marry a “white girl with blue eyes”? It’s weird because all these guys are highly educated but they seem like they are close minded and have internalized racism. I never had a problem with liking indian guys? I’ve been bullied too as a kid for being indian but I’d didn’t suddenly start valuing white guys with blonde hair and blue eyes? It just doesn’t make sense to me.
@@samtula5946 this is the reason Indian girls and women started to date other types of men. Why would I want someone who doesnt want me and has internalized racism and self hate, that in itself is unmasculine and shows a lack of leadership to me. If youre unhappy with the portrail of your own people, BE the example you want to see. Be a role model. But that is just too high minded, too masculine and too much leadership for most Indian men.

At least he was honest about his feelings. He was probably honest that he is sorry he hurt Your feelings but he was just being honest. He did say he wanted to marry You and You chose not too which is understandable. It’s Great You made Your chose and he made his. Continue to Love Your self and forgive him. Forgiveness is not a feeling but a choice of obedience to God and to others to extend Grace and Love to them even though we may not have received that back from them. This interviewer is SO insensitive! Her questions! Deepti makes it repeatedly clear that she's beyond this, and done with it and wants to move on, and REALLY would like the rest of the world to move on too. This interviewer just keeps plowing in and plowing in. My goodness Deepti, I can't believe how well you handled her! You are even more of a heroine in my book! Such grace, kindness and beauty. I liked her from start. Best decision ever you made.
I loved her "I chose me" moment, so happy for her. However, I'm kind of over all this ganging up on Shake. It's like they honestly think they are "above him" in some type of way, like the whole cast sees him as a villain and her as a goddess (like he mentioned). Like a relationship doesn't take two people to work? Let him live. He obviously has his issues (like the rest of the cast), but when everyone sees him as a villain of course he is going to act like one. If everyone in a room treats you like you're worth nothing at all it's really difficult to be nice back, at least in my experience. You could see it made him sad that everyone turned against him. I would never talk to that cast again if that was me. Anyway, just some thoughts. His points are totally valid in my opinion (like Deepti is saying too, he wasn't her type either - totally valid), his way of saying things could need some work. I agree the apology video seemed fake. He is probably trying to deescalate the situation, but I wouldn1t be able to apologize to her either, she was being so rude to him at the reunion, talking over him, rolling her eyes, whispering to others while he was talking. Again, his points were valid - this show is toxic and he found out how much physical chemistry means to him. I say good for him finding that out. Next thing he needs to figure out is his avoidant attachment and peter pan syndrome, which probably is a result of something in his childhood. I'm guessing, but yeah. No matter what the reason is: Respecting that everyone are on different journey's in life is growth, hating/gossiping/ganging up on someone for not acting like you is not.
