Thank you Nikki for this wonderful video. I especially loved you sitting on your deck or porch with your fur babies sipping your beverage❤ It calmed my soul. Today is the fourth anniversary of my husband's passing. I really needed your calming voice today❤❤❤❤
maybe a victorian print fabric that u love could be used to make a cover for little ladies crate in your morning room....i love that the Lady of the house shares her morning room w her little fluffy fur baby ...😊lady
My morning room is my formal living room. It has 8 foot windows where the sun streams in, hitting a crystal chandelier and paints rainbows on the walls. I sit in there each morning as my day begins. Classical music is piped throughout the house making it a calm and peaceful place. My desk is a built-in in the kitchen with a window above it. This is where I paint my watercolors and plan my menus. I guess my “morning room activities” are split between two rooms. ;-) Enjoyed the peaceful video and the encouragement today. Thank you.
This space sounds lovely! The morning sun doesn’t shine in any of our rooms till after 8-9 am sadly. I do enjoy sitting on an Adirondack chair in our front yard surrounded by flowers in the summer to read my Bible and get early morning sun.
I love the idea of a morning room. The right atmosphere helps a person to start the day right. If using a desk, you can put things out such as papers or pens for easy access, and not having to move everything away. I was thinking of cleaning and organizing some spaces. so I'll add this to my list. Thank you for sharing this idea with us!😊
About the dining room set... I wouldn't paint it. But I think if you painted the room a lighter shade of those velvet cushions (that I know you're over lol) it would really tie the look together!!!
Dear charming Nikki. After being a follower for a while now of your beautiful channel my life has change . Taking care of an elderly parent whom lives with us now it’s a hard job 24/7 days a week. I sometimes don’t have time to watch your beautiful videos right away and comment like I used to . And some evenings I will watch three or four of them back to back . Thank you for graciousness of your videos it makes my days. Funny I have two of your beautiful aprons that I bought a long time ago when your seamstress used to make them. Thank you again for making my evenings a peaceful one after a busy day . God bless you…❤
Thank you so much. Tuesday Ramadan starts and i ve cleand my home with your methode. It works and i am ready for focus, praying and stad for my Lord in the nights behoren sun upset. Thank you so much❤
What a beautiful opening to the video.. I so enjoyed watching you hold the puppies and your sweet comforter... you are a blessed women sharing your blessings.. thank you.. Have a blessed day. God bless you.. :)
I am going to support your stationery business Nikki, you bring so much joy with your videos and inspiration, yes. They all look beautiful, your Lifebooks, I need to decide which one will make it in my home :)
Love the "Morning room" concept. I do have such an area in our liv i ng room. I use a particular corner where I can have a cup of tea and plan and pay bills etc. I have a gorgeous multicoloured arm chair which my husband bought me for a birthday gift. A fairly large glass side table is next to it. There are lots of glass doors in the area and it gets an incredible amount of light all day. Enjoy creating yours. Love Bev ❤
Hi Nikki lovely video, l have a dining room l made into a sitting room , l absolutely love it. Have a cuppa and relax. Has a big window. Can't wait to see your morning room set up. It's great you have the doggies in there. Love seeing them and little Lady is adorable. Thanks Nikki❤❤
Such a lovely video! Thank you for such a morning treat. Making blind and windowsill dusting part of weekly cleaning of each room really will save you so much time and effort when it comes time to deep clean them. A swifter duster dusts them better than anything I have ever used. Going over them once with the blinds turned down and once with them turned up when you clean each week only takes seconds. It’s also a great thing to do right before a deep cleaning as dust can tend to turn a little “muddy”when you add a wet rag to it and can discolor the strings in your blinds.
My husband too! He can’t stand the smell of vinegar. I had to stop as well. I started using an old fashioned stovetop percolator. It’s stainless steel and has beach it daily in the dishwasher. Love it and it makes the best coffee!!
Just watched your morning room video and I was thinking if you wanted to add anything , an electric kettle with a hanging teacup tree stand or little coffee bar would be a nice addition 😊
That is a nice dress. As far as dresses I tend to go for ruffles, cotton/rayon, more of that country/casual romantic style so I would buy something in that ballpark. I love that dusty rose blu dahlia one. Thanks for all of your inspiration. 💐
I'm getting excited for Spring cleaning this year! I just got in the mail new couch blankets and pillow covers to cheer up the area. I had neutrals on the couch for winter and am so excited to have pops of teal and green to put out 😊 I will also be putting out my spring decor as I go which I always look forward to. It's not feeling remotely like spring here in Alaska, but our daylight times are back to normal so we have been getting tons of sunshine that so beautifuly refects off our snowy mountains ❤
You have such a beautiful glow! Have you done a video on self care? We as ladies do need to take care of ourselves. Your skin is so beautiful! Some of us do need encouragement in this area; we have been abused and need to know we are worth taking care of. ❤
Hi Nikki, A morning room sounds so amazing!. The examples you showed are just so beautiful. I will take a look at the link. I look forward to your new products. I will have to say yes to the blue dress. I have been looking for a blue dress for a while now. If you do add them to your poshmark, I am a small in most dresses. My regards to your Mom, family & four legged friends. 🐦
I love the blue chair in there. So beautiful. I’m like your husband, white vinegar is something I can’t stand the smell of. I deep clean every three weeks except my kitchen cabinets. Those take an entire week. I just don’t have the strength to clean 30 wine goblets and 30 water glasses in one day. The island is packed with all my cornflower Pyrex container and the white Pyrex container. That takes a day. I can’t downsize because we have about 30 people during holidays. I’m wanting to get to my windows but here in Southwest Texas our windy season has begun. Have fun with your Mom ~ Janet 😘
I think if you painted the hutch you'd regret it... only because its an antique. I've seen people do that and it never quite turns out as it should. I suggest, like you say here, changing out the cushions or maybe even the chairs themselves? I think either of those would bring a whole new life to the hutch. Just my opinion :) And yay for a morning room! I look forward to what you come up with. My spring cleaning is my garden. The last few years, with my son being so young, my lilac bushes got overtaken by vines. I have been clearing the vines out now before they bloom and the bees start!
I’m in the process of spring cleaning my conservatory which I’m calling my garden room but could easily be a morning room. It gets the sun and warmth which is a big bonus at this time of the year in Scotland. Still have a few diy projects to do to complete it but it’s so lovely and peaceful x
I cannot wait to hear more about these "Morning Rooms" you speak of! That sounds exactly like something I would love. I am sorry if I missed something, but is that room freed up again for your personal use? I thought it was so generous of you when you gave up that space for a child's bedroom, so I am happy to see you in there again. Homemaking is so much about being flexible and generous and you really show us that.
I look forward to sharing my plan and setting one up this month. None of my kids cared for this space as their room and 3 of my 4 have tried it out. It’s more of a “mud room” because it’s by the back deck and only entrance from the back yard. It’s nice to have this space to work with again🌹
I completely agree. It is so precious as it was your Grandmother's, but it is also timeless ! The only thing I might do if the hutch was mine, is make the part behind the glass shelves look a bit lighter than the rest of it, so that the gorgeous pieces displayed on the shelves would stand out a bit more. But even as it is, it is stunning!
Hello Nikki, You look beautiful in this dress color! Have you considered painting a French toile design on your hutch adding a balyage of green blues to tie in the color of the chair pads? You’re such a talented painter and your style would be amazing. Focusing on updating our master bathroom and laundry area this month. Julie 🌷
Thank you, Julie! I've considered many different things for the hutch but always come back to second guessing so I do nothing. I hope your updates go smoothly and that you love the finished results 🌹
Today I'm going to focus on watering all my indoor plants. I have many and I prune them and wash the shelves they are on. Sometimes that leads me to cleaning and dusting the living room/morning room/front room.
For the coffee pot, use vinegar and water but then do a few run throughs with just water, that will get rid of the vinegar taste. Once it's clean your coffee will actually taste better. This was just the kick up the butt I needed to do my windows, it's a dreaded chore for me. I'll put on some relaxing jazz or classical music and clean.
How about painting the back of the china cabinet, a coordinating color, or adding a patterned wallpaper to break up all the gold and highlight your lovely pink depression glass collection? Amazon has some nice chinoiserie peel and stick wallpaper options that would compliment the painting details on the lower cabinets.
@TheLadyoftheHouse I miss KMart. Our living room is full of things from there that I've had for years. Namely the metal leaf motif on the wall scones and other such items. I know a lot of people looked down on KMart as classless (and for (ahem) W trash...) but so much of what they had was so beautiful and you'd never guess where it came from.
I live in an area where the water is very hard, so years ago I switched to using bottled/purified water in all my small appliances. It has saved them. I’ve done the vinegar trick, even straight, and run it through, but it never really gets it all. Vinegar isn’t my favorite and I don’t care for the smell either. Distilled water fills my clothes steamer and iron. I used to clean my coffee maker monthly, but now I almost never have to since I’ve switched to purified water! I love not buying new appliances yearly also! Regarding your dress, I love it and I’d definitely purchase one. I may run to Ross and see if they have one. My Ross isn’t as great as yours!
That's so good to know, thank you! If I can find more, I may just have to get a few for my shop as it's so easy to wear and perfect for spring. Let me know if you find it and if not, the size you would like it in🌹

Green sounds nice to me for the pillow
Toss your coffee pot and get a gorgeous French press. Buy a good quality whole bean coffee and grind your beans at home. It's amazing.
It sounds lovely 🌹

Yes, that's just the way I will do it from now on. I hope you enjoy that time, having music playing made all the difference for me 🌹
💐 You could sew up a very pretty cover for the crate so that it would not be an eye sore in your pretty room😊🩷🌸

Who is the soft sophisticate? thank you.
She is a subscriber of mine, it’s her username.
Nikki, where do I find 'The Soft Sophisticate'?
She's a subscriber but doesn't have a channel that I know of. That's just her username 🌹
Ok. Thank you!
I absolutely love your dress I do not have a Ross .
I'll look into filling my shop and then announce when and if I have them available for purchase 🌹
Thanks so much
Ma'am, u r looking very pretty!
TFS. Your home is so serene and your videos so calming and inspiring. Can you share where you purchased the lovely lace tablecloth? Thank you.
Thank you! I found this particular one at Kmart many years ago. I'm not sure if they have all gone out of business but the ones in my area have 🌹
I've seen a few on Amazon that look similar.

@@TheLadyoftheHouse oh, okay! Was wanting to make sure I wasn't missing another great YT channel or website. LOL
I only use a French press ❤☕️ I won’t go back now.
That’s so nice to know 🌹
I use citric acid instead of vinegar,it has no smell and works better than vinegar.
I’ll have to try that.
I was intrigued by this ingredient but have decided not to use it after studying about its origins.

You look absolutely radiant today . Thank you for the wonderful video
Thank you🌹
