This record was a case of love at first listen. The many reasons for this can be boiled down to one word: atmosphere. And after 40 years, nothing recorded sends me like this does every single time.
Try all the time lol. This modern age of mediocrity, lack of timeless originality like this beautiful song, remakes, reboots and the quality of many things just at an all time low. Terrible. There are some things that are great i suppose, but many industries like music, movies, gaming are just at a pathetic forgettable level unfortunately.
After so many decades, I heard a DJ play this on the radio this morning. I had forgotten how hauntingly beautiful this song is ... I won't make that mistake again ... So glad I rediscovered this ❤❤❤❤
This song is like the 'great reset' of life, where it all started and reflects on things where we should of done better and as we get older, time becomes valuable. Because we know we have less of it, so closer relationships become more important. This song means different things to different people. Additional note 20/3/24 - I want this played at my funeral!
The song Everybody's got to learn sometime from the album Dumb Walters released in 1980 and reached number 5 in the UK Charts, James Warren and Andy Davis are the (original) members of the British band The Korgis.
There is not one single time in the 2,561 times I have heard this song that I can get through it without either tearing up, softly cryin or outright bawling...and it's all good ❤
1980. Late teens, just coming up to 20. This song is playing. On the nightclub dancefloor wrapped around the lady that I loved then (and am still married to 44 years later)..... Memories, memories, memories
So haunting. This song has been the story to my life. I kept thinking, what lessons did I need to learn to stop the mistakes I kept making over and over. I am glad to say I have learned the lessons :)
I HEARD THIS ON KC CASEM TOP 40 & I REMEMBER NOW JUST HOW GREAT THIS SONG & LYRICS WERE AND WHAT A GREAT MESSAGE THIS IS( EVERYONE HAS TO LEARN SOMETIMES), THANK YOU KORGIS, NO DISRESPECT BUT THE 70'S & 80'S IS THE BEST DECADES FOR MUSIC!!! EVERY SINGER & BAND SEEMED TO BE MUSICAL GENIUSES!!! 50 YEARS LATER & ALL THIS MUSIC SEEMS BRAND NEW, PLAY IT 20 TIMES IN A ROW & NOT GET TIRED OF HEARING IT!!! I HAD FORGOT ABOUT THIS SONG, THANK YOU KC CASEM, I ALWAYS HEAR ONE OR TWO I FORGOT ABOUT THEN I HEAR IT ON YOUR TOP 40 BROADCAST!!! ONE OF GOD'S GREATEST GIFTS, MUSIC!!! SOMETIMES YOU MAY ONLY HAVE ONE MAJOR HIT. BUT THE SONG IS SUCH A HIT IT HOLDS IT OWN IN THE HISTORY OF GREATEST SONGS EVER!!! THE MESSAGE & SONG IS CLEAR!!! ( EVERYONE GOTTA LEARN SOMETIMES) AND WE LEARNED THAT KORGIS MADE A CLASSIC THAT STANDS THE TEST OF TIME!!! ❤❤❤ ❤❤❤ LOVE THIS SONG & I HADN'T HEARD IT SINCE 1980, 44 YEARS, BUT IT WON'T BE ANOTHER 44!!! 😊
He was a talented violinist for sure ThisKid. I haven't looked up his name but I read that he died a few years ago. I love the cats nestled and moving around him as well while he is playing. Beautifully done video and song. Sad and beautiful.
This is a masterpiece, for me it’s reminiscent of different things, but also sounds like my boyfriend’s voice who’s been gone for about 4 years now. He was a sweet Casanova, but I couldn’t resist him and he was drawn to me also but time couldn’t keep us apart even if we were May-December, our birthdays literally. And time’s passes and he’s still my light 🥰👍💖❣️
I was 19 years old when this song came out. When I heard it for the first time I thought it was beautiful. I would of liked my mother to hear it. Because she kept making me afraid to learn & to live my life.
I was in my twenties during the Eighties and I listened to all kinds of music, here in America and in Europe as an exchange student. Always in record shops, always on the radio, always hanging with people who lived for music. And through all that time I never heard this song. Then about 2 years ago I was driving an old beat up pick-up truck that had the old analog radio receivers. And flipping aimlessly through stations, I heard this song for the first time: 42 years after it first played on the radio. And I cannot think of a song that more perfectly encapsulates my nostalgia for the past, my youth and my passion for music. It may be a tear jerker but it rings as true as any song I've ever known.
Uau. Ouvi Time de Alan Parsons Project e Soon do Yes. Existem algumas músicas que são perfeitas. Essa é uma dessas músicas.
To me this song sounds tough and sweet at the same time, like someone giving you a heartbreaking lesson about life while also comforting you because they know it's hard.
For me this is a song i played alot back in the days because the mystical chords and lyrics gave me goosbumps. Tbh I did never understand the message. Now, years after with 2 young kids and a business this song gives me goosebumps from start to end. It is amazing ❤
Who still gets goosebumps from this in 2024..??

Yes. Was class of 1980
I'd totally forgotten about this song. So captivating. So good to hear again!
I was 16 yrs old and just started work at a factory. This was always on the radio in the factory. Listening to this takes me straight back there.
This song sounds a dream like the a gentle breeze in our hearts, idyllic and deep, almost an oasis.
What???
Bought this as a 11 year old school boy in 1980, now 55 it still sounds great as it did back then.
Probably the best song ever written
If this song doesn't make you FEEL then please keep listening.
They’re playing this in heaven
this song reminds me that music has an incomprehensible power that can only be experienced to be appreciated.
It's the words to the song's very outstanding performance by the band's brilliant to listen to ❤
Wow you can't know how profound that is ❤
Every time I hear this it reminds me of my dad after he passed away June 2000 in his late 40’s
@paulfoster7554: So sorry. Late 40s was way too young to die.
Reminds me of my one and only true soulmate who sadly died in a car accident 40 years ago. It was one of our favourite songs.
I am so sorry to that, you take care and to your Dad RIP 🙏 Sir

This is a song that reminds me i've lost a good friend in 1980 at the age of 20 by an accident.
44 years later i stil mis him.
I just lost my best friend of 30 years. I know I’ll miss him forever too ❤
Tuffo nel passato, quando c'era più gusto per la Musica....oggi solo spazzatura
Nostalgie, beauté et envoûtement, une chanson de rêve

A rainy morning on a weekend, look through the window, reflecting what time it was hearing this song when I was 8 years old. So near and so far away.
Still such a beautiful song even after all these years ❤❤❤
The perfect rendition of a fabulous song by Paul Williams

La escuche en 1980 y llegado la noche era placentero dormir .
love this slow song.....thanks
So many memories. Wonderful song .
Que canción y voz para más místeriosa escuchandola en radio y cuando ví al vocalista en el vídeo nada que ver con lo que imaginaba 🧐
That Piano making makeshift organ sounds is amazing.
Incredible song.
AS close to the sublime as pop ever got, with this sense of suspended time, of ecstasy.... How the HELL did anyone ever think of this?
I just got goosebumps while listening to this on Kiss FM.
Definitely THE best version ..... great song!
Lembro de uma garota que me envolvi com ela ,nos amávamos mas acabou sem terminar, essa música marcou muito. 👩❤️👨
Seriously I think this song is a kind of door, maybe the greatest.
As a teenager I used to listen to that song. What a thrill it was each time for me !
