Considering most Scots have a good grasp of their own history unlike Americans it would be a slightly more redundant video.
🏴 🏴
🏴 Freeeeeeedooooom!
Do a whole series. Wales on st David’s day, England on St. George’s 😂
Daniel The Scotsman Really? I only just found out half my family was entire Romani prior to great-grandparents - then Irish and into Scottish from my grandparents when they moved to Glasgow as children.
"I'm descended from the Duke of Abbot" aye and i, my mates, and my mates' dogs all too
Im irish, but it said that humans first originated in africa. So does that actually make me african?
Lol no
Yes
Yes you are as much african as they are Irish .
1:39 even the person telling them the "answer" butchers it
Oh that one got to me, I had to play it back to make sure i wasnt hearing things
-I do drink a lot of beer though...
**starts clapping**
Good old American humour
this guy says he’s a descendent of some duke guy, not irish then
“I’m not very culturally irish I drink allot of beer!” That is a extremely racist comment.
the thing is people consider them as "stereotypes" and to racist
ireland isn’t a race
@@michelle9445 The comment itself is racist because they're stereotyping an entire group using rhetoric which historically oppressed Irish people, if you don't understand this you need to do your research and maybe then you'll understand why so many people are pissed at this video.
A bit funny tho
I’m Scottish and I even find this video offensive and just plain wrong
I'm Irish and i don't find others ignorance offensive because I probably don't know half as much as they do about basic American history, and I am also a reasonable person
@@svendinsvinderlin4569 You are not claiming to be American though.
@@kinuuni yeah, your point?
privacy is key because these people claim to be irish

Yanks: *this video*

“Irish” Americans
"I have green hair"
2:46 too easy, should have given them Rocky Road To Dublin
Oh definitely. Rocky Road to Dublin is such a classic
"I have green hair"
BYE
These guys are like oh yeah I’m an Irish American because my cousins grandads uncles granny’s dog is Irish so I’m Irish American
Thank you for doing this one ! Had me rolling the whole time.
*Apology not accepted, y’all think your related to use not a CHANCE*
@British Teeth that's the British
Ladies and gentlemen, the American education system
The American education system should not be responsible to teach Americans their own culture. In public schools, many students from varying backgrounds exist, making it impossible to teach every student their parents' home country's culture to them. This should be the parents and family's job.
@@aznmochibunny Americans have no cultural identity. It's why they try and leech off everyone elses
@@irishpride2993 I was referring to the culture of the students of ethnic minorities. i.e. Asians, Native Americans, Mexicans, etc.
I’m English and have no nearly no Irish ancestry, but now I’m feeling pretty Irish compared to these yanks.
0:24 good chance that MAY have been a coffin boat.
Yep, probably to ellis island.
*My great great grand fathers mother was Irish *said all Americans
They're not lying because actual Americans weren't white those pale fuckers are from Europe like you
@C Klan who hurt you
This dude saying his grandma was Irish like 600 years ago......
ALSO IRISH IS CALLED GAEILGE NOT GAELIC... GAELIC REFERS TO ALL CELTIC LANGUAGES AND CULTURE. We learn it in school from 7-18 so dont argue with me Americans.
It’s a dirty and dying language so Americans don’t care. That’s why you speak English, the language of the winners.
THERE NOT IRISH IF THEY WERE BORN IN AMERICA FFS
Buzzkill
Let me get one thing straight....
NO ONE SAYS GAELIC ....IS IRISH JUST IRISH ITS THAT EASY
I know right literally your Irish teacher will call it Gaelge (I don't bother with Irish) no one else will
Correction - Nobody in Ireland for whom English is their first language and who only learned Irish in school, and nobody under fifty, calls it Gaelic.
Many older native speakers do call it Gaelic when referring to the language in English, as the language was never called Irish before the foundation of the Irish State less than a hundred years ago.
PO box Well for starters anyone I know, over and under 50 won’t call it Gaelic, it’s Gaeilge.
c l Exactly. My Irish grandmother, born and raised in Dooyork, County Mayo called it Gaelic and bristled at the term “Irish”.
Many Irish Americans call it Gaelic because they were taught that by their parents, grandparents etc. who were more old school.
You don't know how weird it is to hear people you don't know say your VERY uncommon name (at least where I live)
Okay, okay... At minimum, they had enough decency to be ashamed at how they did. I've seen some yanks that will insist that they are more irish then people who live here because they embrace every stereotype as much as possible.
I’m Irish and I understand the struggle some of these questions we’re out of pocket
I'm 100 percent irish and this was hilarious and painful at the same time 😂
Sooooo many irish steorotypes in this video
Btw
I'm irish 💯💯💯
Stereotypes* but ya
Only if you speak the language , if you don't then you are 50% or 75% Irish😝
@C Klan I think you need to ask Irish, ppl about that cause I am not Irish, but I believe that you need to know you're language to becalled 100% Irish. Once the language, dies so does you're culture.
@C Klan 🤦 You won't sleep, tonite or if you do then you're ancestors, are not going to be pleased with you. They are going to come up in your dreams and will have a long discussion with you for calling it horrendous. Save it bro you can do it. I know you're Irish , education system is at fault but still save it. Me the non Irish, is worried about the language than an Irish.
I think I'm more Irish than you are . I need to apply for the citizen ship and become the PM. 😛😝
@C Klan ☹️
Ahahahah yer woman’s a legend! Not even a minute into the video and she’s calling the prods snakes😂😂
Americans : my sister's best friends uncles mother's friends dog once sniffed an Irish man so I'm definitely irish
For a country that once had signs up saying No Irish they all claim to have some sort of Irish ancestory especially around Paddy's Day.
@mntlPurple Irish is a Nationality. Having an ancestry from Ireland doesnt make you Irish. My ancestry comes from Scandinavia. I dont go around claiming to be Danish/Swedish/Norwegian/Finnish. I'm Irish because that's were I'm from. Being born in America makes them American. Even if their parents are Irish they aren't. They can claim it all they want but they ain't.
@@johnlynch6084 Americans don’t see it that way and we will continue to call ourselves by what our ancestors called themselves ok bye
@@alternativeatom6337 Of course you don't. Delusionally claiming to be something your not is common over there like how you claim to be the greatest country in the world.
Well, that's mostly because of assimilation and race issues, since this is the United States we're talking about. People used to be so horribly racist to those of Irish descent that many simply decided it would be easier to just give in and accept "American" (which was an largely still is just "white") culture than to deal with anti-Irish discrimination. Many former Black slaves who had been freed even described their treatment as something akin to "My master is a great tyrant, he treats me like a common Irishman." That's part of the reason that Americans from the Irish diaspora are so far removed from Irish culture--they traded it for one of a collective whiteness that still remains today. And then, once Irish = white, _then_ that's when it was decided that being Irish is a good thing, actually, so now we can get drunk and party and pretend to know about our history! While ethnically they may be Irish, realistically they don't have a claim to the label any much more than someone born and raised in Vietnam would lol. Also, nationality itself plays a much different role in the United States than in other countries since it's used more to describe ancestry, as the only actual Americans are this land's indigenous populations while everyone else is a mix. That's why I wouldn't get weird looks for calling myself an Irish-American here, but I would if I were actually in Ireland. Just a very weird American quirk that doesn't really hold water anywhere else in the world. Trust me, I'm just as annoyed with these kinds of hypocritical motherfuckers who sing about being Irish but have no idea the history or issues of the motherland or Irish people as y'all are. Sorry for the essay! Bíodh lá maith agat!
Americans with Irish decent.*
You do not claim national identity through long lost relitives.
Irish-American is about ethnicity, not nationality.
God you’re a buzzkill
“Duke of Abbot, the heir to the thrown”
My god there’s so many things wrong with that sentence
If they knew anything about ireland they should have known that ireland has never had snakes naturally as it was too cold.
Pronounce it like "Arland" not "Eyerland"
@Vengeance * its not racist bro dont cry
@Vengeance * where u from anyway
@Vengeance * oh god, shut up. We speak English here. Yes, that’s a result of the brits but here we call it Ireland. Also, Germany/Deutschland is in no way comparable to Ireland because in Germany they speak German so they use the German word! Here we speak English so we use the English word for OUR country. Our country which belongs to US. It’s pronounced arelind not eye-er-land.
