- Iberostar Selections Playa Pilar, Cayo Guillermo, Cuba (Mar 17th to 22nd, 2022). Great trip with Jenn to Cuba! Weather was 30C and sunny everyday. This was by far the best beach I have ever been too! The resort was only 1/3 capacity and we were easily able to get a Cabana right on the water every day. The sunsets were stunning! The downside; food selection was not as we are used to before Covid in Cuba. They are lacking on the basics such as hot dog/hamburger buns napkins and things we take for granted. I did not starve and never missed a meal. The staff were exceptional, especially Alex and Babo who are the pool and waterfront fitness guys. Nice video . Looks like you enjoyed your stay as I did at this resort . Playa Pilar beach and Media Luna island are close to visit during the day . Five minute shuttle service. The resort is newly built with good amenities.

Heading here second week of December! We usually stay at the Melia Jardines but wanted to switch it up. Awesome video for us to be able to see where we’re going 😊

We(2 adults and 2 toddlers) are planning to go on a vacation in early July and now we are debating on resorts. This one or grand muthu Cayo Guillermo. I've researched a lot but it seems like they all have very mixed reviews...😮💨 I don't know which one would be better going with little ones. 🙄 anyways, your video made me more inclined to Iberostar now. 😄

Beautiful beaches. What about mosquitos 🦟 ?
WE HAD ZEROOO MOSQUITOS! When we were leaving we stopped at 6 resorts to pickup passengers and everyone else had been destroyed by them!

There were ZERO mosquitos here. However on the way to the airport we stopped at 6 resorts and everyone who got on the bus complained of mosquito bites.
This resort has no beach. And check in time is 4.00 pm? It's awfully bad if you arrive on a morning flight. Will have to stay in the lobby till 4.00 pm. No spare change rooms here. I would not recommend this resort.

Hi Jaime, the resort was about 1/3 capacity and it appeared most were either Cubans or South Americans on vacation. They are having a huge supply chain issue with food and basics in Cuba but there was always food to eat...we did not miss a meal! I typically stuck to beer but anytime we asked for anything else they always had it. Highly recommend the Japanese a'la Carte, it was great. Some people were able to get a'la carte's for all 7 nights! If we were to return, it would be because of the great staff like Pabo and Alex and the postcard perfect waterfront and sunsets!
Do they stamp you passport when you enter and exit Cuba?
Is there beach area with sand?
There is powdery white sand in behind the elevated Cabanas and a small beach area at the end. there is also several beaches you can walk/ paddle boat to.
