Good points, Melvin! One thing also, but this may not apply to everyone. Used to stay in a landed property since young. However as time past, my siblings and myself started to have our own family, meaning my elderly parents would have to stay alone in that big landed property. It will only get more inconvenient for them when they are older. (Note that maids nowadays get turn off when they see your big house). So In the end, we decided to sell the landed property and get 3 units of condo. This now, my wife and myself would have our personal time. I believe my siblings’ family as well. And my parents won’t have to climb up and down etc.. so in a way, this arrangement is like a win win situation for us. In the short and long term. :)
Hey Melvin, I always have a question in mind. If I have more than two cars or I have visitors, do Strada landed have another visitor carpark like condo apart from the private carpark
Han Xian Ong, Only strata landed that’s inside a big condo development have visitor car parks (most of these developments are 99 year leasehold). Those pure strata landed (usually max 20 households) do not have (these are usually 999 year/freehold). I have lived in all four - HDB, condo, strata landed and landed. Pure strata landed the lifestyle you feel is closer to normal landed home. The feeling of you driving into your own car park, then open your door straight away is your house is difficult to explain to people who haven’t lived in strata landed/landed. Pure Strata landed or Landed home owners No need to park then walk then take a lift to go to your home. Condo the feeling is closer to HDB. It’s still high density, many units on a floor, many floors. I’ve lived in three condos. Basically living in condos the feel is like HDB with facilities inside a gate. Another point is big development Condos are usually located in HDB estates, unless you buy in condo districts like River Valley, Newton, Novena. Everyday you go home as you drive back or walk back from MRT, the feeling is like going back to HDB area. Pure Strata landed is usually located inside freehold landed enclaves. The feeling is exclusive. Everyday when you drive home, the feel is different. As you turn your car into the landed enclave, if your house is exclusive in location (not near the main road), as you drive into the estate, the feel is like you’re living in a Western country. Some landed enclaves in Singapore are huge and stretch for many kilometers (Kovan/Serangoon, Seletar, Holland Bukit Timah, Siglap) if your house is not by the main road and deep in, as you drive in back home, the feel is exclusive and evokes feelings of western country or developed country lifestyle. The best advice you can get is from people like me who actually lived in all these types of houses. I even lived abroad before (US) so I can even tell you about life abroad. LOLOLOL. These people making these videos are only repeating facts which they read up but they got no personal experience, they can’t tell you about the “feeling” and the lifestyle. Cuz they never experienced it. I bet 99% of the people narrating these videos never live in landed before.

Buy a $500k HDB and a $500k JB landed home. Still have $1.5M for rainy days and enjoyment..
Thanks. Could you summarize for different level (e.g. $3m, $4m) so we can see how it changes (if it does)
Hi,Lim Thanks for the comprehensive and extensive details of 3different categories.Really an eye opener for us.Great job👍👌
With social distancing being the norm in the future, shared facilities will be a disadvantage rather than an advantage. Best to get landed.
are you saying that have to do social distancing forever? I think you have social phobia
Thanks for the sharing.
How is monthly maintenance fee a plus point? 😂
Show us some small strata homes
Thanks. Very insightful
