Also I noticed that Melania is with the Veteran before hand and how gently and respectfully Donald Trump approaches him and treats him.
Instead of his trademark powerful grip and tug handshake he makes sure not to destabilise the Veteran who stood to meet the President.

Notice too that Melania was already in the room & talking to the wounded man? That shows she has autonomy from Trump (she didn't wait with or behind him) & her desire to maximize the amount of time spent with the injured gentleman. Melania showed up & represented quite well it appears. I also like how Trump gestures to the man to sit down so quickly. They both know he's struggling to stand up to show his respect to the President - Trump almost immediately catches that & tries to alleviate the man's pain to do that. It's the nuances in this clip that say everything. The subtleties & unspoken words say an awful lot. Melania & Trump both appear very conscientious.
Trump sure can be an a**hole, but he also has plenty of recorded moments appearing to be a genuinely empathetic person to individuals. It's sad that peoppe choose to only highlight soundbites where he sounds like a raging sociopath with absolutely no context.

Even after his presidency he STILL takes the time out of his schedule to do meet and greets with not only local average people , but service members and their families, funerals of people who should be honored, and so much more.
