He's going to lose so much money on that house when he goes to sell it.
He paid cash for it, I think around 6.5 million, which was a terrible idea. You always buy homes with low interest mortgages.
Now his house won't be worth maybe 3.75-4.25 million if he's lucky due to the recession we're seeing now and will continue to see over the next 5-7 years.
Not to mention it'll take years to sell it. So he's stuck there, not wanting to live there, it's very custom now, which buyers don't like.
He's got 7 million of his own money stuck in it, when he could have put that 7 million in stocks or anything other than an overpriced home over the last however many years he's lived there, making him money instead of it sitting there losing value.
Ask any intelligent person with money, they'll tell you two things.
Don't buy a home with your own money, and NEVER buy a yacht.
