Also, Hornung won the Heisman on a lousy Notre Dame team that finished 2-8 - the only time a player on a losing team has ever won it as of 2021.
The only reason Archie Griffin won two Heisman trophies is because Joe Washington wasn't allowed to be on television. Oh well, Joe Washington was on a Super Bowl team.
What do you think would have happened for Barry if he had played on a real team. Hell! Just give him 5 seasons with ,49ers ,Cowboys,Steelers. A franchise that won. I grew up with Lion's football. Barry was the only reason there was NFL joy at all in Michigan. 😎😎😎
Ah yes, Cam Newton's infamous 51 passing TDs in the SEC. For how good he was as a runner, I am shocked he didn't score 21 on the ground and 30 through the air.
1. Earl Campbell best running back I ever saw, he wasn't part of the Oilers he was the Oilers. 2.O.J.Simpson (lacked killer instinct). 3. Barry Sanders 4. Tony Dorsett

1) WRONG! 30:07 OJ won the National Championship in 1967. Set the record for TDs in a season in 1975 & yards from scrimmage, the same year. A 14 game season btw. 2) Charles Woodson was Defensive RoTY in Oakland and was a perineal pro-bowler until injuries. Got beat for a TD in that Superbowl but also got a Interception.
Something random: Cam Newton was killed for not jumping on that ball in super and ppl were saying he didn’t want to hurt his throwing shoulder… just for him to hurt his throwing shoulder the next season and him not being the same since.
So it's Barry's fault that he had to carry crappy Lions teams? The last time I checked, Barry never played with an elite QB, it was rare he played with an average one.
Time to stir the pot. Earl Campbell was a better RB than Jim Brown. He played in a more competitive league. He had better top end speed. He was an equally powerful back. He was just better. The stats would show it if he doesn’t blow out his knees and if Bum Phillips doesn’t run him into the ground with 400+ carries every year. And Paul Hornung is absolutely overrated. Jack of all trades, master of none. People reflect way too fondly on those early Packers teams. Was Hornung even the lead back on his team? Also OJ was a better player than Staubach.
30:09 Championships?! Teams win championships not players by themselves, you goofy 🙃 He ran for 275 yards against the Lions 🦁 He was the first NFL player to run the ball for 2,000 yards in a season (1973 season-14 ball games)
In the description box you said this episode was “originally aired in 2012” but #7 is Cam Newton and they mention him leading the Panthers to the Super Bowl in 2015? Lol…
Let's cut the crap I know everybody has their favorites but pound for pound play for play and stat for stat both in college as well as in the pros no Heisman trophy winner can have the claim to number one on this list than Barry Sanders........ There's literally no one else like him.
One group I have to, begrudgingly, give credit to on these lists is the 70's and 80's Raiders. They always stick together when it comes to saying a former Raider is ranked too low. Think about it. How many times have George Atkinson or Phil Villapiano said that a former Raider (or anything really related to the Raiders) is too low on the list? It's amazing loyalty, and I have to respect it, even if I HATE the Raiders.
Las Vegas Raiders 🏴☠️ It’s our turn to draft a legit Heisman Winner to be a stud in The NFL & carry on that tradition. QB-Jim Plunkett RB-Marcus Allen RB-Bo Jackson WR-Tim Brown WR- Raghib The Rocket Ismail CB- Charles Woodson
Marcus Allen deserves to be higher he would have been number 1 if his career hadn’t been sabotaged by the owner of his team that also refused to trade him despite his requests the fact that he’s as predictive as he was and has all those accomplishments despite that speaks for itself
I love Woodson but saying his pro career was better than his college career... Crazy talk. That Heisman year Woodson was putting Michigan on his back every week. Every damn week he would pull off the game deciding play.
Joe Person is more monotone than Ben Stein and Charles Woodson absolutely earned his Heisman trophy he played in n 11 games scored 5 tds(Punt return, Rushing, Receiving) and snatched 7 picks. The reason i hate the Heisman Trophy is because it rarely goes to the actual best player. Its been going to the best player on the best team and only offensive players. Suh should have won his last season at Nebraska. Off top of my head i can think of three three undisputed Heisman winner Devonte Smith, Joe Burrow, and Derrick Henry
Charlie Ward went to the NBA because he KNEW he wouldn’t get a fair shot to be a starting QB.. Black QB in 93… still had a lot of stereotypes about the Black Qb
It's pathetic that people still after all these years have to be saying that Barry never want a single thing which he never did with the Lions. He played great in college proved himself and he carried that reputation to the NFL and did not let down any of the years that he played. They won the division which was the old Central division I believe back in 91 and 93 so that would have been his second and 4th or 5th Year. He took a dismantled franchise from a no-name team and people don't realize that they were making the playoffs even if it was in the wild card most of his career. Never had a steady quarterback only won one playoff game that I understand but Marino only want a handful of f****** playoff games in his lifetime and only made one super bowl granted yes he made the super bowl but you don't hear them throwing that back in the argument about Dan Marino anymore because of what he did and how he revolutionized the position and that is exactly what Barry Sanders did. Because after a few years in Miami Marino can I even make it back out of the divisional playoff round I think after he won the AFC title the one year he was like over 3 or only over two in his career in the playoffs and championship games.

Nah I wouldn't have either on the list. Plunkett isn't even close to as good as any of the guys on this list.
The only reason Archie Griffin won two Heisman trophies is because Joe Washington wasn't allowed to be on television. Oh well, Joe Washington was on a Super Bowl team.
Washington 194-1321 6.8avg 13tds, Griffin 256-1695 6.6avg 12tds. Archie played in one more game in the Rose Bowl and had 76 additional yards
That tuck rule hit…just incredible
Big W
What do you think would have happened for Barry if he had played on a real team. Hell! Just give him 5 seasons with ,49ers ,Cowboys,Steelers. A franchise that won. I grew up with Lion's football. Barry was the only reason there was NFL joy at all in Michigan. 😎😎😎
Staubach #1, hands down. Not even close.
Killer instinct..... Really?
3:35 I remember being at dat game it was Off tha Hook he closed out da Coliseum but we ain't wanna leave!!! Oops I think I'm confused wit da game vs Phoenix when he left wit punt return n OT
RIP Paul Hornung :(
If anyone is wondering why Cam Newton isn’t on this list it’s, because this list was created in 2012.
Thanks for adding OJ
Something random:
Cam Newton was killed for not jumping on that ball in super and ppl were saying he didn’t want to hurt his throwing shoulder… just for him to hurt his throwing shoulder the next season and him not being the same since.
Now we have Lamar Jackson, Joe Burrow, and Derrick Henry. Plus, DeVonta Smith looks incredibly promising.
Doug Flutie is the greatest player in cfl history though.🤔
Flutie should've been the face of the Bills. He would've led them to the super bowl against the rams
So it's Barry's fault that he had to carry crappy Lions teams? The last time I checked, Barry never played with an elite QB, it was rare he played with an average one.
Barry .. perfect
30:09
Championships?!
Teams win championships not players by themselves, you goofy 🙃
He ran for 275 yards against the Lions 🦁
He was the first NFL player to run the ball for 2,000 yards in a season (1973 season-14 ball games)
In the description box you said this episode was “originally aired in 2012” but #7 is Cam Newton and they mention him leading the Panthers to the Super Bowl in 2015? Lol…
There were updates sprinkled in with the original episode.
@@isaacgreen3273 Ahhh, I see. Great videos man. Love the channel!
It’s sad that Barry Sanders, Earl Campbell and OJ Simpson never got to play on a Super Bowl winning team
It's sad for 2 of those guys. Not the murderer and convicted kidnapper. Hard to feel sorry for him.
Let's cut the crap I know everybody has their favorites but pound for pound play for play and stat for stat both in college as well as in the pros no Heisman trophy winner can have the claim to number one on this list than Barry Sanders........ There's literally no one else like him.
My mom met him and she said Earl Campbells legs are huge
And we get to see DeVonta Smith coming in...everyone talking about Trevor Lawrence, but the prior is the dude to watch.
Ah good. I was wondering why the heck Ronald Reagan was in the thumbnail.
Derrick Henry should be on the new list whenever that may come out.
What, no Gino Torretta ?
Torretta getting the Heisman over Marshall Faulk has to be one of biggest injustices in College Football history.
When they said Tim Brown #10, I expected a cut to Atkinson saying "Too low!"
Archie Manning was very good in the NFL. Dude ran for his life in new Orleans.
One of the few lists this show did where any one of the players listed would have been a solid #1 choice.
You are insane. The only player on this list you could put above Barry is Roger Staubach.
They put newton ahead of Allen and Campbell in 2012....
I haven't seen it yet but I'mma say Either Charles Woodson or cuz I'm OaklTown Bizz or Gino Torreta!!
7:46 Tom Flores was a happy man at this point after his Raiders humiliated the Redskins.
Las Vegas Raiders 🏴☠️
It’s our turn to draft a legit Heisman Winner to be a stud in The NFL & carry on that tradition.
QB-Jim Plunkett RB-Marcus Allen RB-Bo Jackson WR-Tim Brown
WR- Raghib The Rocket Ismail CB- Charles Woodson
Marcus Allen deserves to be higher he would have been number 1 if his career hadn’t been sabotaged by the owner of his team that also refused to trade him despite his requests the fact that he’s as predictive as he was and has all those accomplishments despite that speaks for itself
How do you rate players that aren't nor going into the hall of fame above players who are in the hall of fame?
I think if they redo this list DeVonta Smith and Derrick Henry will make this list.
26:20 and suddenly Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy show up
'Worst of the Rest'...haha, so disrespectful. But funny with it.
Thoughts on replacing cam Newton with Derrick Henry
Would anyone consider Plunket for this list? Rookie of the year, comeback player, 2-time SB winner and SB MVP. Means something right?
Tony Dorsett should be number one. He won the Heisman, National Championship, Rookie of the year, and the Superbowl in 400 days.
I love Woodson but saying his pro career was better than his college career... Crazy talk. That Heisman year Woodson was putting Michigan on his back every week. Every damn week he would pull off the game deciding play.
Oh God that guy said Tim Tebow 😂
How did they talk about cam newton's 2015 season if this aired in 2012?
Isaac I thought you were locked up. I haven't seen you up in Solomon in a while. Hope all's well.
All is well, thank you.
We'll I guess I'll take this list three Raiders, should be four and Marcus should be higher.
Charles Woodson. Football Royalty. Even wears an ascot like John Barrymore or something.
there is no way it aired in 2012 because cam didn't make it to the Superbowl until 3 years later
27:00
Did this man just try to make a case for Tim Tebows NFL career?
This should be called the top 10 raiders players
Joe Person is more monotone than Ben Stein and Charles Woodson absolutely earned his Heisman trophy he played in n 11 games scored 5 tds(Punt return, Rushing, Receiving) and snatched 7 picks. The reason i hate the Heisman Trophy is because it rarely goes to the actual best player. Its been going to the best player on the best team and only offensive players. Suh should have won his last season at Nebraska. Off top of my head i can think of three three undisputed Heisman winner Devonte Smith, Joe Burrow, and Derrick Henry
I remember when Tim Tebow was no.7
Staubach I would have at the very top.
Simpson was the best player in the NFL during the seventies
That is a major omission.
Charlie Ward went to the NBA because he KNEW he wouldn’t get a fair shot to be a starting QB.. Black QB in 93… still had a lot of stereotypes about the Black Qb
Lol at cam being ahead of Tim brown, Marcus Allen and earl Campbell. Cam started hot but ended up flopping after his injury.
I was wondering why Cam is ahead of 3 HOFers...
Since Roger Staubach there has not been another Heisman winner from any service academy
Coach THATS BARRY SANDERS! lol Charlie Batch is great
