- This is a First Amendment Audit of the Webster town hall on September 6th 2024. It was a very nice modest sized town hall. But as soon as I got there and walked into the Assessors and Public Works office and IMMEDIATELY the fire Marshall Andrew Vorndran starts accusing the Erie County Fam of Harassment. Never even looking at him or talking to him. Andrew Vorndran has a huge misunderstanding of the First Amendment rights of the Erie County Fam. Andrew immediately, call the police being a little fire starter. (By "fire starter" I mean Start Trouble, Start Drama, Escalate the situation... NO ACTUAL FIRE involved!) I feel the need to make a disclaimer because Andrew Vorndran asked "if I was making a accusatory statement". Another example of the Fire Sta Marshall just trying to Start Trouble, Start Drama, Escalate the situation... After leaving that office while in the hall one lady from the office came and took a photo of the Erie County Fam making a public record. After trying to identify the lady, EVERYONE in town hall didn't know who the lady was. No idea who she could be. EVERYONE was wearing a white sweater. Discussing public servants, this is what we pay for.

90% of the time, gov workers are just sitting around talking with each other, playing on their phones, or “in meetings.”

my suggestion is the next time you find yourself in a position that a city worker refuses to give you their name.... in the FOIA you ask for their full name and salary and years of service and ask in the FOIA what additional training they will receive to better understand that when a citizen asks for a city workers name they must provide their name and position.
What does that cell phone sign even mean? No cp at all, public and employees? No cp by employees? By public? Where? Beyond this point? In the world? Says who? What statute? Stupid.

A very hostile work environment for the owners of the building.
Public servants, including the police, often start acting like children when someone exercises their rights, particularly in matters of transparency and accountability. You can tell they're used to doing things their way, acting as if they own the building instead of serving the public. The police, who have the power to calm the situation, frequently come in with an attitude, as if the citizen has found a loophole they're exploiting, rather than simply exercising their rights. Instead of providing information, these public servants withhold details, suggest filing a FOIA request under the guise of being helpful, and avoid responsibility. Meanwhile, they stop working or become evasive, wasting taxpayer dollars. They should be made to watch their childish behavior in front of their families, then be suspended for one day without pay and required to attend a First Amendment class. This would help restore accountability and respect for citizens' rights.

You have a right to record in a public place...UNTIL it makes someone uncomfortable. Then, it's harrassment. Thank goodness he cleared that up. Can an American answer and explain why you guys need to show up in person to pay for anything government related. Taxes, DMV and permits. Based off the sign in this video, payments by cash or cheque only. Seems very dated. As a UK citizen i have never been to a government admin building. Everything is done online or post and payments by card. And you guys seem to need a permit for everything. What are some of the rediculous permits you have to pay for.
For a "free" country, we do have to have a awful lot of permits and licenses. This is how you know freedom is an illusion. That, and the laws upon laws.
