Ethan, such a wonderful video and I have walked a similar path myself! I left Sweden age 7 and moved to India with my mother. Somehow I got a bit lost and ended up in London until New Years Day 2024, age 34, when my partner and I bought a barge and moved out of the city. Now, we too have come to the realisation that the motherland is calling. The countryside and simple life is the true gold, and we are setting our sights on a Swedish torp. A lot of magic has to happen to get there but you have been an inspiration and very informative too. I will catch up on your videos and see how you're getting on & I wish you the very best! Kram, Mikaela

I genuinely admire your style of life and the way you're very conscious of what and why you're doing certain things, something about the way you explain your thoughts is very calming in a world filled with chaos.
As someone in their 20s with a lot of ambiguity in regards to their future, videos of you and your travels across Europe makes getting older a tiny bit less scarier :D

Fantastic story line and as always thoroughly entertaining you have the rare gift of turning the prosaic into a voyeuristic delight concerning what we all feel and have to go through ...

Try and buy land in a good area/place that you like and build your own house from scratch with new plumbing, water pump and electric cables. Dont buy an old house, they will only give you a headache. Buy a modern one if you dont have the patience to build your own house. Have in mind that there needs to be water source to pump the water to your house. /Swede

I think the right place will come by when you least expect it. Re the house you showed. Do you want a project?. Some do. You could make it your own, if the place has good bones. But, then again, it could become a money pit.
Decided not to be a bore, I shall not expand further on articulating my plans. But, these series if vlogs have been motivational.

You can still splurge on a nice car. Just have a practical one too. That's what I do. 🚙

My humble advice is not to be stressed on the process of finding a suitable home, or any process as a matter of fact. It is part of your day-to-day living and you got to embrace it with positive energy. On a side note, Voivo however an innovative and safety conscious brand is currently under Chinese control and has lost quite a bit in the reliability front.

Интересная традиция в скандинавии - это ставить светильники на подоконники. Особенно красиво это смотрица тёмными зимними вечерами, когда на улице световой день крайне короток.

Volvo's are actually pretty good cars. They are solid built cars and have a pretty good track record as far as reliability is concerned. Plus they are supposed to be one of the safest cars on the road. I also dig the body style of Volvo cars. However, I can't say that for the Volvo's built in the 1990's. Or hey! Better yet. You could buy a SAAB. Oh wait a minute. They don't make those anymore. Regardless of what kind of a car you decide to buy, Ethan From London your videos are absolutely fascinating. That is because YOU are a fascinating man.
