I really like the 542i, first time using it I cut up 12 inch maple no problem, still cuts good in eco mode on the small stuff. For me it’s perfect for limbing and smaller trees , I like running it, it feels like using a electric knife to cave a turkey. I use a Stihl 036 pro to block up the bigger logs. I think the 542i is great for older guys,,, like me. I have a portable 400 watt solar “suitcase type panel” , a 12 volt lithium battery and inverter, it can charge the battery for the 542i with it with no problem.
Never been a fan of top handles on the ground especially for new saw owners glad to see Husqvarna agrees with me 😁. They have their time and place right tool for the job and all that. I can see having one of the 542i next to the chipper as being handy.🤔🤑
@@MyOutdoorAdventures396 20-30 ton actual rating or claimed rating? how much money do you have to spend $1000 or $10,000? Only 14 ton rated but hard to beat an Ultra!
Very interesting! I am putting a Stihl MSA300 through the testing phases. So far, so good, but I won't be sporting that lovely 2 stroke exhaust cologne!😂
Nice review Chris. I’m guessing that we are just touching the potential for batteries and battery saws. I might be too old to see the day when I would give up completely on gasoline. GNI
@@BertsCustomCuts Did Rick say that the saw weighs 10lbs and 13lbs with battery? 🤔seems off as spec says 5.5lbs without battery maybe I missed something. 5.5 plus 3lb battery would put it as same weight as gas saw.
Battery operated tools are all a joke. Just ask the NC people who are without power. Treated properly most gasoline powered tools will outlast you. Drills and drivers excluded.

Sounds like a good system you have there!
Nice product demonstration 👍 Not convinced about electric chainsaws yet but I can see there are good applications for them.
Great point! They are just another tool to use when appropriate.
Chris's you tube is all about promoting brands. Every video is promoting a brand and item.
No, my channel is about everything involved in making firewood. Should I only show pictures of firewood?
Battery saws have come a long way. We use the Milwaukee 20v saws for arborist work. They work very well.
Yup, better each version!

We have one now in the wood yard....soon I will test it out!
That little Husky electric cuts pretty good. We don't have a decent Husky dealer anywhere near me.
It is very nice!
I bought my 372 at the show. I'll never need another. ( I hope. Lol) That one is cute though.
Nice saw the 372!
Wow. What that man doesn't know about Husqvarna saws, we don't have to worry about.
🇸🇪👍🇸🇪
He is the man...Sir Rickcutsalot!
Man I bet that dude really knows huskies .lol thanks Chris
Yup, Rick is the man!
@@InTheWoodyard are you out trapping or hunting?;what's tomorows video???
Great video of the new battery life!! This may help people decide on using battery operated saws!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Thanks, you too!
Good morning
Hello!
I love watching this channel! I cut firewood myself and love doing it! #firstcomment
That is awesome!
@@InTheWoodyardI am wanting to buy a gas wood splitter. What would be the best buy for my money? I’m looking at something from 20-32ton.

Thats really neat that they have an internal switch when there is too much of a load on the saw.
Yup, that is the big flaw with all battery saws...overheating.
Chris,another excellent video 😮😊❤
Thank you so much 🤗
Nice handy electric saw.
Yup!
I was cutting a 20" tree with my Ego 18" chainsaw it was cutting with
precision. I cut a 40' tree and made about 10 cuts easily.
Awesome!
Did Rick mention anything about the G series heated handle and how much battery life it consumed?
No, good question though!
Nice Display Rick😊
Yup!
G’morning Chris. Nice to see the sweetness. I’m guessing they might have a double battery for us pro loggers soon. GoodNightIrene
Maybe so, but the weight will be a huge issue???

Good morning Chris!😀😀
Morning Al!
Hi Chris very nice video love it ( Ty Ron
thanks!!!
Impressive battery power. Quite an advancement in technology. Thanks for this enlightening episode. Will you go to batteries? eventually?
I never say never! Ha!
Rick needs a haircut ! 😁😁😁
No, he is Santasaws!
Interesting video but I think I’m going through withdrawal wanting to watch the processor run with the 16 way wedge
Maybe you need to get one and you can run it every day! Haaaaa!

We shall see!
We just had a atmospheric river dump 8" of rain on us in 2 days!😮
I wish it would dip south, very dry down here.
Nice rain is good, it's hard to live with out it.
All you need to do is make the rooom sound with your mouth and your all set. Thanks Chris
okay.
I learned that I thought my battery was running down in the middle of a large diameter cut but after a few seconds it was going Again.
Yup, they do that....???
They have their place I guess but if it's anything like a Sthil battery, you'd. have another small fortune just in a couple batteries.
Yup.
Captain Husky really knows his stuff! Great video Keep em coming!!!
Thanks! Will do!
Do a head to head with the new Milwaukee dual battery.
weight is already an issue on the battery saws, I cannot imagine two batteries.
@iffykidmn8170 Both the T540I T542I weigh the same as the T540 gas.
@@BertsCustomCuts Did Rick say that the saw weighs 10lbs and 13lbs with battery? 🤔seems off as spec says 5.5lbs without battery maybe I missed something. 5.5 plus 3lb battery would put it as same weight as gas saw.
If Milwaukee would send me the saw (like Husqvarna has) I would love to!
@iffykidmn8170 we did a hanging scale with battery and full oil vs gas saw full of oil and gas
You can keep that JUNK!!!😂
Have you tried it yet? A closed mind never grows.
👍👍👍
Thanks!!!
🤘
Thanks!!!
Sorry tried elc. Saw and IT just don't cut it. Not again 😮
They are getting much better faster now...competition does that.
Hello everyone
Hello Sir Stanley!

Thanks!
I saw Rick at Arborfest last spring at North Carolina. Great guy. Very knowledgeable.

some are having issue getting gasoline as well so there is that.
Have you tried a professional grade battery saw. I thought the same thing years ago and now I own one and want the newer version.
That is true...but for tree service and lift work they are awesome!
Good point!
They are way better than most know....the horse buggy people said the same thing about cars in the late 1800s early 1900s .....so....
