Definitely impressive for a small saw, will be interesting to see how it holds up after several tanks of gas. 👍TCT
I agree. Looking forward to putting some time on it.
Port it up have joe do his thing to it up looks like a cool saw
Thanks Charles, I think that’s what I’ll do after I run it a bit. Have you ever done one of these?
Thanks for the review Heath, Ive been seeing these on FB and wondered how they were, Looking forward to more videos on it.
That’s what lead me down the rabbit hole to buy it!
Nice introduction and demonstration video 👍 Seems to be pretty powerful for its size. Looking forward to seeing how it wakes up after being broken in.
Thanks Lyle I agree! I wonder how much porting and a muffler mod will wake it up too? Maybe we’ll find out.
You beat me to it, I told you about how durable the Bad Boy mowers were and now they have a chainsaw. It maybe a little chainsaw but it’s a Bad Boy. Going to see if my store has one. Thanks for the update.
I called the other day and the dealer didn’t even know they were available yet. Had it ordered in. So far I’m impressed.
Who makes them?
nice video,Explained in great detail.
Thank you Wayne! Appreciate the feedback.
@@hardworkingmanoutdoors you're welcome, your video is really good, are you interested in cooperate with other brand?I know that the proyama are finding youtube partner, they make chainsaw and other outdoortools.
Been wondering about them! Thanks for the video!
You’re welcome, more to come.
@@hardworkingmanoutdoors absolutely! Love your spending habits
L jet needs to be turned out 1/8-1/4 a turn. Sounds a bit lean on idle (no burble) and it doesn't pick up fast on acceleration which confirms the issue. Seems pretty great, looks very similar to echo 361 or maruyama variant @ 30cc.
I believe it is made by Maruyama. They have limited caps on the adjustments I’ll have to remove its maxed. Thanks!
Hi from Virginia good job
Hello, thanks!
Thanks for sharing brother 🙏😁
You’re welcome. Appreciate the comment.
I’m very impressed. Reminds me kinda of the echo I have. Good video heath ❤
Thanks Jason so far I like it.
Yea it looks very close to Echo cs361 or Maruyama variant. The japanese inspiration is obvious for sure.
Cool little saw!👍👍
Thanks Jeremiah.
Not too shabby at all. The sort of saw you have for limbing etc. Good review. Cheers from HB NZ
I agree. Not a bucking saw but great for limbing, trimming, or habitat work.
Nice saw , impressed with it .👍🏻
Thanks Del I was too.
Go for it brother! Get it port chip
I just might! I think it could be a real little monster with some mods.
That general design, has been around a lot of years.
Best gess is mabe there thinking a 9k working rpm?
.
The 272 husqvarna actually had a out board clutch set-up like that one. Its still available new from Brazil.
Even the modern 562 clutch is set-up that way.
Yeah, so far I like it. Hopefully I’ll get some more time to run it soon.
Thanks for sharing your saw. I like how it looks, I think from watching you, it would be great for lambing commercially or what I call the serious homeowner. That’s the guy that heats with wood and burns more than a few tanks of fuel a year. lol. I’m curious as to what it would do modified
I agree. It’s a nice light saw.
I would never use a chainsaw for ‘lambing’ it’s better to let the ‘Ewe’ live (besides, I am not crazy about mutton).
Nice looking and working saw. Do the port. 👍🏻
Thanks Noel, I’m leaning that way.
Hello Heath and Rachel well there certainly a pretty little saw😂👍🇺🇸
Yes it is! Thanks guys.
It's unique.
Yes it is. I like it.
For sure
YES DYNO JOE...❤
I’m thinking the same!
I'd say yes get the dyno done and I'll say probably around 1.8 hp stock. I'd like to see it hit close to 3hp ported and muffler modded. It sure could use more rpm in the cut. But it's a decent little saw.
I think I will. I want to run it more stock first though.
@@hardworkingmanoutdoors probably a good idea. Get some tanks through it first.
Heath,pretty darn sweet for 30cc chainsaw 😮😊❤
Thanks Todd, I agree.
Great video would love to see it on the dyno and see what hp can get out from joes tuning
I agree!
Looks to be a maruyama rebadged. They are good saws
I believe you are correct.
Nothing like a new saw. Not quite sure about that chain tensioning method though. I'm sure you'll keep us informed about that in the future. Would also be nice if the clutch cover nut was captive. Just little things. Good video.
I agree. We’ll see how it does.
Go for it brother! Get the port! Chip
Thanks Chip. I am definitely thinking about it.
good video and job looks ok hope it will last. i got a 34 cc echo $220 it's light and has fair power lighter and much faster than battery saw and a73 cc long bar echo i love my old stihls but they stopped making parts have a 28 super and 2 others saws that need parts. i hate the new stilh saw i had 2 and traded one off they never ran right. take care. be safe and well.
Thanks, I really like the Echo saws.
Nice saw
Thanks Robert. First impressions I like it too.
Dyno Joe!
I’m thinking so too.
Yes I want to see what he can do for it.
I think I’m going to pay Joe a visit soon.
I need this i just bought a badboy 4025 tractor yesterday
They are coming out with some nice stuff.
I’m fairly certain that’s just a rebadged 281WES, nothing new or groundbreaking. They aren’t bad saws but they are also just a saw nothing special. Kinda cool but I’d bet it’s just a re badge or a knock of of another saw like the old Komatsu chainsaws were. Definitely interesting to see
I know they teamed up with Maruyama for the build. Looking forward to seeing what it can do.
Yes
I think o will. Let me get some time on it first.
Take it to dyno joe
I think I will!
It's a rebranded maruyama mcv31r-14 chainsaw. But almost $30 cheaper and a longer home owner warranty
I k ew they teamed up with Maruyama but didn’t know all the details. Thanks!
Looks quite a bit like an Echo or maybe even more like my RedMax gz3600 which is a Zenoah saw basically. I have never used it. I bought it 4 or 5 years ago and its still new in my garage. The RedMax was $350 I believe when I bought it.
Bad Boy teamed up with Maruyama for this saw. Seems pretty nice so far.
@@hardworkingmanoutdoors I would have to go out into the garage to look at the saw. I bought it in 2019 and I never used it but it looks almost identical based on what I remember. The screw to adjust the oiler was snapped off in the box. I had to order a new oiler. You would think warranty would have covered it but they didn't seem to want to help so I bought the part and dropped it off at the saw shop. I could have fixed it myself but he charged me like $20 to do it so whatever and while there he sold me an Echo top handle saw for $40 more. Somebody dropped it off and never came back so I paid the repair bill and I have been using that Echo instead of the RedMax. Pissed me off so bad after getting a brand new saw that I had to fix out the box that I just never used it put it on the shelf lol. I know at the time I saw at the Husqvarna dealer a saw that was the same saw just in orange and it was like $100 more. I remember there being a tag that said Husqvarna and RedMax on mine think it said Zenoah somewhere else on it too but Husqvarna or their parent company owns all 3. Not sure if RedMax saws are even sold anymore now
Yes stock saws are always leaving a lot of room for improvement.
I agree. Hoping I can get some time and testing on it then get it ported and modded with Dyno Joe.
Rachel said she had a thing for bad boys, and that’s how yall met I am guessing? 😅
lol, I was the complete opposite. She calls me a rule follower. So I occasionally drive against the arrows in the parking lot to show off my wild side.
@@hardworkingmanoutdoors i saw you j walk at the bunyan show i was like man he wild’n out over there
@@NickPixelTV lol😂 a lot of people do tell Rachel I intimidate them.
7 pounds? That’s approx a third of a 372xp. Yes, not the same class but for delimbing this is a hack of light equipment.
On the trunk it’s working hard!
Definitely not a bucking saw but for limbing and trimming it’s going to be pretty sweet!
work? Run for the hills~!
Lol
I say we give her all the beans give her the full treatment see what she does
I’m leaning that way.
Im not sure about them horizontal piston saws. I just picked up a Husqvarna 36 and its a pretty good saw. Vevor has a cheap option top handle saw for $120 CAD. Do you know if that saw is made in China? Cheers
I believe it is made in Japan. They teamed up with Maruyama.
I believe it’s a maruyama saw .
That is who Bad Boy partnered with for this saw.
Hou do I get ahold of Dyno Joe to have one of my saws ported? I have a CS-590 Echo
His website is www.worksaws.com
The Exho saws get big gains!
Bad Boy? How many cc's is that. Ok Heath let's see how it runs and cuts.I was reading how they got their name and an associate got off one of their zero turn mowers and said that's a "Bad Boy", I was looking at the catalog I downloaded and they make everything from hedge trimmers to backpack blowers and all matter of lawn care equipment. Do a muffler mod Heath. Thanks Heath for letting us see how this thing performs.
Stephen, it’s a 30cc saw. Definitely think I’ll get it modded and ported to see what it can do. I’m thinking about trying one of their battery powered backpack blowers too. The battery weed whip I have is pretty impressive.
I am much more interested in your grapple set up. What is the true lifting capability
It is a Ram Splitter 3 point log grapple with a 3pt to quick adapter adjustment plate. I have a few videos on the grapple under my videos list. We also use it in our latest video with some heavy beech!
Me either this is my first...
So far for a stock non broke in 30cc saw I like it!
@@hardworkingmanoutdoors I love bad boy...
@@hardworkingmanoutdoors BAD BOY RULES...
I run a tree service and I just don't see myself ever running anything under 60cc other than a top handle when I climb. And both my top handles are 40cc.......
Fair enough, I do have the 25cc echo rear handle and absolutely love it for habitat work. Trimming trailers and shooting lanes for hunting. Being light enough to run with one hand and the rear handle gives you extra reach it works great. I assume this Bad Boy will be similar. Also great for the occasional use home owner who needs a decent saw without the weight.
Id personally go buy a stihl ms171, ms170, or ms162, and save the extra money
They do make decent saws but I wanted to see what this thing could do.
Ofcourse. I'd like to see what it can do. To me, it doesn't look like a pro saw. It seems like a homeowner saw, but it'll be interesting to see what it does with some porting, a muffler mod, and some tuning.
It looks like a rebranded echo cs361p
It does but it’s not. They actually teamed up with Maruyama
I don't see an echo 30cc rear handle which echo is it the same as. is air filter the same style?
I have the Echo 2511 25cc saw there are some similarities but the air filter on my echo is different.
My 3 Aaron Lynch 2511t, s....will smoke that thing and with 1 🖐...do it daily..can remove most trees without getting out my 462,500i...exceptions being large spars ..wich it will do.as well when needed
I have a 2511 ported by Dyno Joe they are sweet saws. May get the Bad Boy ported too.
Wonder if Bad Boy actually makes this saw or just slaps their name on it?
I know they teamed up with Maruyama but not sure if it’s an all new design or not?
Another company entering the chain saw market huh? Don’t they realize it’s already been perfected by Stihl. 😂
lol, Stihl does make a good product but in the 30cc class I think this Bad Boy edges them out.
Where is it made?
I believe Japan but not certain.
Awesome heads up on this saw. Dose it come in any other sizes.
Not as of now. I’d love a bigger version!
Looks like it's made by echo.
I thought so too but Bad Boy actually teamed up with Maruyama to make it.
@@hardworkingmanoutdoorsmy understanding is Maruyama
It looks like an old echo model tht probably had the patent ran out on it
They teamed up with Maruyama to make it.
I like the demo
Thanks!
I notice a few things i don't like right away. I dont like the toggle switch at all, or the chain tesioner. I have a stihl 180 and put a 14-inch bar on it with a full chisel chain, and it's far different saw then the 16-inch bar with a safety chain. I wouldn't mind seeing the bad boy with a more aggressive chain. As far as porting it...waste of money, in my opinion.
I already ordered a semi chisel chain for it. Curious to see how the chain tensioner does over time.
did pretty fair cutting what looked like dead punky wood.
could I get the link to that simi chisel chain please sir I just got one of these saws and I’m already trying to make some improvements I love it but lol
@ here is a link to the chain I just ordered. The Oregon chain I originally bought was the exact same as what came on the saw.
amzn.to/4fyJstE
What kind of warranty
It has a 2 year residential and 1 year commercial warranty.
looks like an echo saw rebaged
It does but it’s not. They teamed up with Maruyama for the saw.
Watch thoes fingers on that hot muffler when changing the bar or chain! Zssssss😢
For sure.
it's an echo with stickers on it...
Looks similar but it’s made by Maruyama I believe.
When you get it ported it will come alive and be worth running. At the moment it looks like it should be in the hands of one of those woke people with the purple hair
I’m excited to see how much power this little saw can produce.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors I'd say once ported it'll be a go to saw with it being so light and once its fast it'll be the first thing grabbed lol. I have alot of saws and mostly ported saws but when I comes to actual work I want the lightest fastest saw I can get
@hardworkingmanoutdoors Aaron Lynch built my 200t and my 460 lite and I'd say dyno joe would be a good one to have do the work also. I seen that one video you had where you was at joes so I figure he might be who you have do it for you.
@@matthewknight5641 yeah he did a few for me and isn’t far from me. My 2511 rips now.
You can call something whatever you want, it doesn't make it so.
True, that’s why I bought it to test and share.
It is simply a rebranded echo cs2511 rear handle saw.
wrong, it's actually a maruyama
@@benjaminleslie3155 They are the same, Google it and do a little research.
I have a 2511 as well and I can tell you they are not the same.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors It is an Echo/Shindaiwa rear handled arborist saw. Echo makes all Maruyama small bore saws. The larger saws are made buy makita/dolmar. This saw is also a rebranded echo/shindaiwa/maruyama. Are you saying that you own a rear handled echo cs2511 and can't see they are the same basic saw. If that is the case, why not do a comparison video?
@@jerrylyles8999 I do and will do one. They are similar but not the same saw.
Personally I'd rather see "leave it stock" like 99.9% of us would be using it
I may but I also like to see what gains can be had.
Ok saw for $150
I’d say it’s a bit better than that, super light. I am looking forward to getting it ported to see how much power we can add.
Many parts of that saw scream Zenoah clone. Zenoah is well-known brand in Japan.
They actually teamed up with Maruyama to get this saw made.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors just saying several parts resemble the Zenoah design. Zenoah has sold a lot of chainsaw tech, so not surprising their designs are frequently copied. Some are really good, some copies are junk. So far the Bad Boy commissioned saw sounds like it is a very good design. Hopefully you can put it through its paces and let us know how well it does.
@@thefirewooddoctor that’s the plan.
@@thefirewooddoctor were all zenoah saws strato saws? I'm curious if the maruyama is strato or not.
I think it's way overpriced in my opinion. I just bought a brand new stihl ms250 with an 18" bar for the exact same price.
That’s a whole other class of saw. Half again as big and almost half again as heavy. Light easy to handle saws definitely have their place. Stihl does make some nice saws as well.
Rebadged Echo.
Does look similar to an echo. I know they teamed up with Maruyama for the build.
@@hardworkingmanoutdoors Maruyama, Echo, and Shindaiwa are made by Yamabiko corp in Japan. I just wish they had more models to choose from, great saws.
My steal chainsaw cuts faster than that, loggers use steal chainsaw
Definitely not a logging saw. I’m guessing your Stihl is a bit bigger than 30cc and 7lbs.
350 for a saw that has no power and no dogs 😂😂😂😂😂
It’s 30cc don’t really need dogs it weighs about 7lbs.
Chinese junk with no spare parts available
Nope, they actually teamed up with Maruyama a Japanese company that builds quality products.
The more you took it apart the worse it got. Looks like a echo clone
There are a few things I think could be better. They worked with Maruyama to have it produced.
Looks just like a mariyama pro saw just color of echo which mariyama are great equipment I have their 27cc pro trimmer it's awesome just wish they made a 50 plus cc chainsaws I would for sure buy one
