Most Szayeloporro scenes are heavily censored in the anime, in the Manga he chokes on his zanpakto to activate ressurection, he quite literally grabs his fraccion and eats it instead of turning it into a weird orb, his rebirth ability literally makes him impregnate a host and makes them give birth and it also leaves them into a decrepit like almost a corpse. Idk how Kubo was allowed to make his Manga almost gorey and fanservicey but he sure was testing shounen jumps limits and sadly the anime censored almost every single one of graphic, big nono content.
Another interesting thing is that the manga is also censored at tite kubo mentioned when writing the manga while the anime was airing he was writing it with a more commercial intent. But by the time he got to tybw he knew bleachs anime was ending and was free to go as hard-core as he wanted
I'm not saying this is unique among "friendship" scenes but if anything that people don't differentiate enough with "power of friendship moments" in general. The reason Ichigo was losing to grimmjow in the first place was because he was so stressed worrying about Orihime and her being afraid of him was nerfing him. Rather than getting a buff its more like he got unnerfed. Again this isnt exactly unique but there is a massive difference between scenes where someone gets a power up to win because of trying to protect their friends vs their friends relieving them of their nerf from being stressed/their mind is thinking about other things than the fight.
I definetly believe that bleach executed it better than most other shounen, with there actually being a build up to it and a reason behind it happening but it just something I've seen a million times but to bleach benefit it is better and made sense.
Another read of the scene is that it is a wake up call. Ichigo acknowledges that he was there to rescue Orihime and to fight Grimmjow, because while he might not admit it Ichigo does enjoy fighting. This is the longest that he has used his hollow mask consecutively so far and he is giving in to his instincts that enjoy fighting to prolong the battle similar to Kenpachi. Orihime’s call serves to snap him out of this quote unquote trance which leads to the battle ending soon afterwards. I think both reads of the scene have legitimacy and it could even be both at once.
This is not even in the same category. Ichigo had no option but to forge a very dangerous power that we all know can have fatal consequences. Orihime is fully aware of this. Ichigo is out of it because the very person he is trying to rescue fears him. And we see Ichigo draw gallons of blood at a moment's notice whenever Grimmjow provokes him. Halibel compared Ichigo to an Espada: this is not just about power level, but about ferocity. Orihime does not give Ichigo inspiration to overcome Grimmjow; she gives him approval. The fact that Orihime gets PTSD of her brother when she sees Ichigo's masked face is just the cherry on top. If there are any power-of-friendship scenes in Bleach, this is not one of them.
@@olo703 This. A lot of people crap on Orhime for being scared of Ichigo in his Hollow form(usually by calling her a and I quote "a big bitch"), but I think they kind of forget that she is literally a teenager who was forced to watch her only brother/parental figure whom she practically worshipped following his death, as a horrible nightmare monster that wanted to kill her and her friends. And now a similar thing was happening to Ichigo, the love of her life. It's a very natural reaction imo.
soul society is amazing and was exciting to watch, but I don't think it was nearly as ambitious and Hype as the Arrancar arc, and I'm saying this only three arcs into it.
My personal issue with it I guess wasn't for any of the stuff that it did. All the stuff that was in it(ie the fights, the villains, growth of the characters and Nel) were great. My issue mostly stemmed from how much the anime dragged stuff out. It was so badly paced and the animation was inconsistent as hell. I couldn't help but feel that fights that should have been one or two episodes were stretched WAY out to be like ten. Sometimes the animation was incredible and sometimes it was utter slideshow garbage. It probably would have been my favorite arc within the og anime if all the things it had were just directed and paced better. Granted, it's highs are all incredible so it does make those slow moments worth it, and it definately picks up in the fake Karakura town portion. It would probably benefit the most from a modern remake out of all the arcs and if it does, I have a feeling so many people would be calling it the peak of Bleach. Guess there is a reason why a lot of Bleach manga fans really don't like the og series and I actually considered reading the portion myself since I had a great time with the Fullbring Arc in the manga.
Oh btw it wasnt so much the power of friendship but the power of self acceptance and the acceptance of the darkness youre capable of In the manga kubo illustrates a representation of ichigo as a monster chained up during this fight And when orehime called out to ichigo the monster is illustrated breaking the chains
very interesting, I do understand that this scene was definitely better presented than most, with him essentially being brought back to his sense by orihime.
Great Analysis man. You really are genuine, and you pay attention to Bleach giving really good analysis. 🙏👍 I wish that more people will look at and support your content. 👍
After the Arrancar arc (As a whole) You'll finally get to the Fullbring Arc (Don't worry I won't spoil it for you) which is my personal favorite. Lots of development, Peak animation, cool character designs, cool powers it's like second best for me. Don't listen to the people that say the arc is boring because it's really not. It's just different compared to other arcs. (It is Bleach's weakest canon arc but I still recommend it) It's also the final of the Bleach anime too. TYBW arc has it's own anime.
I would consider tybw to be a continuation of the og anime, since it has the same studio behind it and it frequently references the og through stylized flashbacks and stuff. Like the same exact clips and everything.
The funny thing with Karya in this arc is that it wasn't even in the manga, I mean even Byakuya and Kenpachi flashbacks, it's all fully original and done by anime directors. As far as I remember, it doesn't neither push the story nor explain anything whatsoever, so at some point it was weird to watch
Nice video! Small comment though on your briefly mentioned criticism of "the power of friendship" during Ichigo's final fight with Grimmjow. There is no power of friendship. You misinterpreted the moment between Ichigo and Orihime. Ichigo was holding back against Grimmjow, so he could give Grimmjow what he desired of him. Ichigo can sense what people want of him when crossing swords with them (as long as he is equal to his opponent in terms of strength). But when Orihime started crying and asking him to stop getting injured, Ichigo decided to end the battle and stop fucking around. You see, the thing is, by the time Ichigo and Grimmjow fight their final battle in Hueco Mundo, Ichigo (Bankai + Hollow Mask) is actually stronger than released form Grimmjow. As the Hueco Mundo arc progresses, Ichigo becomes more Hollow like. Sure, he's there to save Orihime, but he somewhat desires the battles and even slightly enjoys them (Grimmjow even mentions this). Orihime brings him back to reality. That's what happens when she cries out to him. Ichigo realises his behaviour is causing his loved ones to worry. Ichigo stops prolonging the fight and starts setting his original priorities straight.
thanks for this information, ichigo is always one of those protagonist that is deeper than you think, I think that his inner hollow also mentioned something about fighting as well. I understand that by the final battle he was stronger, but I thought it was more of something where he was losing himself in the fight and orihime helped snap him out of it. I'm also glad you enjoyed the video.
Even deeper than that Ichigo starts holding back because he sees he’s scaring Orihime and it clearly affects him. Especially in the anime they put very special attention to their eyes and facial expressions. Ichigo pays very special attention to Orihime a lot of the time, it’s subtle but it’s definitely there

First of all, I apologize that this is a long comment from me: 1. I actually agree that the mid-season canon-filler episodes of this arc is actually pretty good, I especially liked the Karin/Toshiro episode & the Yumuchika/Hanatarou bakery episode 2. I'm going to disagree with what you said about how this arc "balanced out the humor" because personally, I think the comedy of this arc was handled pretty badly (at least as far as the Anime is concerned, I don't know how the Manga handled it) & more often than not, it overstayed it's welcome, case in-point: Pesche & Dondochakka. Now I agree that Pesche can actually be pretty funny, I also love the "Pesche mispronouncing Uryu's name" joke, but the problem is; their comedy just kept going on & on at times to a point where it becomes a distraction, even in the middle of a serious fight 3. Arrancar arc is actually more gruesome & violent in the Manga, but sadly the Anime censored a lot of shit like; Yammy squishing Roka Paramia’s head, or Uryu aiming for Szayelapporo’s throat, or Szayelapporo eating his own Fraccion in their flesh. Yeah, there are some violent moments that actually made it to the screen (such as Yammy & Grimmjow’s arm getting sliced off clean, or Luppi’s body being Cero’d off clean), but the point stands. As such, there’s a lot of things in this arc where I just think “the Manga was better”, because the Anime watered them down so hard, for the most part 4. Also unpopular opinion: I think the Privaron Espada fights were just a time-waster overall, this arc would’ve been so much better if they cut those fights into 3-4 episodes instead of 7, or remove some of them completely/have some of them be solved off-screen Overall, great video & I’m glad you enjoyed Arrancar ar so far & giving it a fair shot, can’t wait to hear your thoughts after making it through the 2nd half of the Arrancar arc. Also, a quick heads up; there will be 2 non-canon filler arcs up ahead that is placed in the middle of Arrancar arc, I suggest you skip them completely (filler arc names in question: The new Captain Shusuke Amagai arc & Zanpakuto The Unknown Tales arc)
Hey man thanks for the heads, up in terms of humours I generally felt that no matter how bad it got the humour was always there to brighten the mood, so that It didn't feel so dark and depressing. Some privation essays I could do without like cirruci. But trust me watch that gantenbeinne fight again and you'll love it. The censorship was rough, i haven't read the manga so I can't say for sure how badly it's is but my goal is to eventually read all the manga and make a video about once I finish the anime.
@@indifference115 For the Chad vs. Gantenbainne fight, I actually liked it, because it made Chad cool again (for a brief moment), I just wish that fight was just 1 episode & paced faster But if I have to pick my favorite Privaron Espada fight, it would be the Ichigo vs. Dordoni one, because the final act of that fight was hype as shit & Dordoni's monologue for Ichigo by the end of that fight served as another build up towards Ichigo & Ulquiorra's conclusion
@zURA/kURA yes that's a great fight and I think emotionally they did really well with some of those privaron espadas. I didn't mention it but I had to rukia fight with number 9 mid, don't get me wrong emotional but just not it in terms of hype and action
@@indifference115 I agree with your take on the Rukia vs. Aaroniero fight as well, especially when Aaroniero hyped himself of eating 33.650 Hollows & being able to manifest all their abilities, only to be killed off-guard because of his arrogance, lmao
As much as I liked this arc, I didn't like Nel, Dondochakka, and Pesche. These three characters had great voice acting, but the lines they were given fell very flat for me. The great thing about Bleach is that normally they balance comedy with the more serious tones, one not interfering with the other and acting as a way to relieve tension without disrupting the pace of the story. However these characters were meant to be a deconstruction of this trope, and while it does change the overall feel of the show, it doesn't work as intended. Their "comedy routine" constantly overshadows the battles themselves undermining the danger these characters are actually in. Personally in the 15~20 episodes they dominate the screen time these three characters create the worst part of the cannon episodes for me. I was pleasantly relieved when their reintroduction in TYBW arc was greatly toned down. Here it works because as stated the voice acting is very good and their comedic relief is better paced with the more serious moments.
Dondochakka, I do not like, but I found pesche to be incredibly entertaining, I think when there are especially dark moments, you need something to lighten the mood, if bleach had zero comedy I don't think i would enjoy it anywhere as much as I do now.
@@indifference115 I agree, the comedy balances the more serious and darker moments of the series. All the other characters throw a joke when its more appropriate. Sometimes in the middle of a fight sure, but its probably a one liner and you never loose the momentum of the fight. But the issue with these three is that they don't have an off button. They each have one moment to shine. Nel turning into Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck a Privaron Espada actually makes sense given her back story, so I'll give her a pass. However, when Dondochakka and Pesche finally decide to fight back against Szayel Aporro Granz it was very hard to take seriously. Especially after they spent the last 15 or so episodes convincing me they belong in a mental institute (just as Renji points out earlier, ha ha). Point is, when you go overkill with the humor to the point almost none of the jokes are even funny anymore, I can no longer take the characters or the situations they get into seriously anymore. They completely overdid it with these characters and they make a small section of the cannon series very hard to rewatch.
@Turkey Face I definitely see that with dondochakka I only really see him as comedic relief, pesche isn't as bad for me, i found his balance yo be alright but he does over at times l. but I get where you're coming from. If they try to make these character more serious it's going to be hard. But I still love everything they brought to bleach
@@indifference115 Yep, slightly different taste I suppose. I love the rest of the cannon series of Bleach. It does have pacing issues at times, but otherwise its great. And the TYBW arc so far is next level. Seriously, season two July cannot come any faster, ha ha!
I'm assuming he still hasn't gotten through the whole Arrancar Arc yet since he put 2 lame fights over 2 great fights to come (yet the ending of one if the lame fights was the best ending yet). Also, I think he misunderstood what the 10 Espada represent and their Religious undertone. But I'll let that be for him to discover.
the arrancar arc as a whole is amazing!! the beginning (vizards arc) was great, we got ulquiorra and grimmjow, and some great fights the hueco mundo arc (orihime rescue) was BORING, wasted 20 episodes on running, donachakka and pesche bullshit, and the goofy ahh priveron espada, pacing was awful until the grimmjow vs ichigo final fight fake karakura town/ichigo vs ulquiorra arc was one of the PEAKEST moments in bleach

@Shadow Momochi Uchiha yeah I'm pretty sure when I get to the manga and see the no censorship he's gonna go even harder.
@@indifference115 yes it will the artstyle will also go harder as well esspecially on colored pannels mannn if you want i can link a colored version for you
Are you also thinking of covering the other Big 3 anime after you finish Bleach?
Yes definitely, I think if I treated one piece like I do the bleach series I would never finish it, because i like to talk about a lot of the event that happen in it, but I will definitely get to one piece and naruto.
grimmjow is truly a fire character
constant demon time 😂
Fr he is so goddamn entertaining
Somebody once told me they always imagined the bounts were just dumb fullbringers and now i wish they had just made the bounts fullbringers
if they were canon, and they cared about the bounts they could've made something out of them possibly, but they just became wasted characters.
Grimmjoww is my favourite villian turned hero🤭🫢😂😂
He's my favorite espada because I love how expressive and energetic he is as a character
You think it's shocking that Shinji is voiced by Sonic the Hedgehog? What if I told you Renji is voiced by John Arbuckle, Garfield's owner?
Bruh okay I'm done now.
if the art and animation was already very good and got massive overhaul via first three arrancar parts after soul society, then wait till' the last manga arc, despite twelve teas old still holds up to this day and best looking og bleach arc when it comes to art and character designs
I'm definitely looking forward to it then sound amazing
@@indifference115 its still kind of sad, despite noriyuki abe and his team altered some relatonships from the manga and cut down some slice of life staff, when the art and animation from bleach was better than shippuden, people hated on abe of these changes, but action animation goes to shippuden.
All i just want to say noriyuki abe did amazing job with art and animation, especially last portion of arrancar arc and massive overhaul within last manga arc od og bleach
@@indifference115 wait lol, you watched full bleach already xd
@JacoB-wp4ws yeah I thought you meant the end of the arc, but yeah if you reffering to tybw it'd amazing
@@indifference115 i meant the og one, in my opinion fullbring arc or any other part of arrancar had more action animation/animation more than tybw cour 2, cour 1 was far better and stuff had much better production schedule compare to cour 2, but fullbring arc is tje best looking bleach arc for me
After this, try to read the manga. And you will see a huge difference. The things Tite Kubo implemented into his work, the anime couldn't
Yeah my goal is once I finish all of bleach pre tybw I will read all of bleach up till tybw and give my thoughts on the manga as well
Perfection
It is really good
i think my issue with the arracar arc is just the obscene amount of padding, especially the fights with the soul society and arracars, it just keeps going and never ends, it's just non stop fights with nothing to them, doesn't help most of them dont look that good
Yeah the big fights are great but a lot of the warm up or smaller fights aren't that good

Thanks
Good luck for the next fillers
How bad do they get
@@indifference115 there about 5 episodes of filler in between each Actual episode its so annoying
the one with the zanpakutos was really good in my honest opinion really liked that one and heard that it's cannon but due to time restraints it was anime only don't know if it's true or not but it has been mentioned in light novels and in the thousands year blood war am not going to spoil I think I've already said to much but if you read the manga or when it comes back you'll know what I mean the beach episodes is actually cannon I've seen the manga panels for it but can't for the life of find the reason why I think it was in one of there special manga books they have the one filler arc in the beginning of the arc with ashido is actually cannon like the zanpakutos arc due to time restraints it was anime only
First of all, I apologize that this is a long comment from me:
1. I actually agree that the mid-season canon-filler episodes of this arc is actually pretty good, I especially liked the Karin/Toshiro episode & the Yumuchika/Hanatarou bakery episode
2. Now I agree that Pesche can actually be pretty funny, I also love the "Pesche mispronouncing Uryu's name" joke, but the problem is; their comedy just kept going on & on at times to a point where it becomes a distraction, even in the middle of a serious fight
3. As such, there’s a lot of things in this arc where I just think “the Manga was better”, because the Anime watered them down so hard, for the most part
4. Also unpopular opinion: I think the Privaron Espada fights were just a time-waster overall, this arc would’ve been so much better if they cut those fights into 3-4 episodes instead of 7, or remove some of them completely/have some of them be solved off-screen
Overall, great video & I’m glad you enjoyed Arrancar ar so far & giving it a fair shot, can’t wait to hear your thoughts after making it through the 2nd half of the Arrancar arc.
Gantenbainne fight, I actually liked it, because it made Chad cool again (for a brief moment), I just wish that fight was just 1 episode & paced faster
But if I have to pick my favorite Privaron Espada fight, it would be the Ichigo vs.
Seriously, season two July cannot come any faster, ha ha!
don't get too excited, there's a massive filler season around the corner
Ayy man, i kinda want to skip it just for convenience sake and pacing, although i will watch all filler after finishing bleach, promise
@@indifference115 don't worry. there'll be lots of filler, in the rebellion filler arc there is a filler arc inside of it.

Ulquiorra was banned to florida? Man! No wonder he could go “segunda etapa” he literally knew true despair
Yeah he had it rough
I liked the bont arc
why
strangely me too and the reason why I like the concept of the bounts I found it interesting
Hey man yep I only am through the first three arrancar arc, there was so much to talk about that I really wanted to make this video
Streisand effect
Ye
the arrancar arc as a whole is amazing!!
the beginning (vizards arc) was great, we got ulquiorra and grimmjow, and some great fights
the hueco mundo arc (orihime rescue) was BORING, wasted 20 episodes on running, donachakka and pesche bullshit, and the goofy ahh priveron espada, pacing was awful until the grimmjow vs ichigo final fight
fake karakura town/ichigo vs ulquiorra arc was one of the PEAKEST moments in bleach
Can't wait to see more ulquiorra, although there were some privaron espada I like I could see why it's not for everyone
