Junction Main Road (The Most Dangerous Road In St Mary, Jamaica)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 19 июл 2024
- Junction Main Road is located in St Mary, Jamaica (Caribbean).
The Junction Main Road located St Mary is considered the most dangerous road in the parish because majority of the road runs parallel to the Wag Water River.
The Junction road offers scenic view, however, due diligence must be taken when driving the road especially when it rains as the road is prone to landslides and accidents. The road is very narrow at some point and because it sits along the Wag Water River there can be several feet of descent to the right and left.
For decades the Junction Main Road in St Mary has been affected by landslides. The Billion-Dollar Junction Road Improvement project involves the widening of the Broadgate to Agualta Vale Road in St Mary Parish.

Keep up the good work my brother.
I would like to think so. Much appreciated Gman Gman
Mmmm BEAUTIFUL GREEN SCENERY. VERY NARROW STREETS AND CURVES OMG... VERY SCARY TO SEE HOW NARROW IS THE STREETS THERE.....IN CERTAIN PLACES....I ENJOY WATCHING THE VIDEO....
Thanks for responding to my comment about going to
Belmont and kingwesion if you lived in Kingston go to
Lawrence tavern and keep Wright
Community working together to debush the roadway, that's the Jamaica I knew
Live in Stony Hill and travel this road so many times. One of my favourite journeys through Jamaica.
Thanks for taking me on this trip. Takes me down memory lane in the 50’s on the country bus going back
To school in Kingston . Also driving myself up to the 70’s when I migrated. Last visited 2019, then Covid-19
Happened early 2020. Hope to visit later this year. Blessings. Keep safe!
Hello Shirls A You are welcome and I am glad to have brought back memories. Please remember to subscribe to us. Thanks again
This whole road from Constant Spring to St.Mary gives me the hee-bee-jeebees with all those corners and precipise!!
I have not driven on that road in decades!! Thanks for taking us along!!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
U should try driving in the blue mountains...makes junction road look like childs play
@@anthonystewart7675 I'll pass, thank you very much!!😃😃
I've been on that road too. Thanks for sharing, bringing back memories
Golden Spring & Stony Hill a my place..Airy castle road in stony Hill a my place..stock farm road Golden spring a my place too.
Enjoying this trip to Portland, took it many times with my Dad and Aunt as a child, to Winsor Castle Portland, from St Andrew.
Lovely video. Saw the river raging on the left around 54:00 mark. The bike man bold. Lol
Just like jumping in a cab and big tipping the driver to relax and show you their favorite sites.
😀 Happy Holidays @Keith Zimmerman
To prevent land slide. Please plant turf builder Grass. Whenever it's time to cut grass. Please do not cut it all the way to the Root. Trim it low. Because the crass roots will hold the soil together preventing landslides. Please do what you can to maintain the roadways in your community.
Turf cannot stop the huge rocks slides after rain on the left going into Kingston . lost family members around that road . But lots green vegetables and deep drop river bed near Castleton
Love how u narrate....Good job...keep it up...u better than most.
Lovely scene i love the fact that you always take time out to showcase our beautiful Jamaica Island. Thank you keep up the good works love it. God bless you.
Great video, Sir. Keep it up.
Thanks pack180g I will. Happy New Year!
Thank you for clarity on the subject. I could understand every word you said, unlike some others. 👏👏👏🤝.👍.
You are welcome and I appreciate the time you took to watch

One of the worst road Construction project in Jamaica. This Highway should have been totally redone and upgraded. The work was given to a local contractor after 4 yrs, he managed to Pave about 5 miles of road. Wasted a lot of money due to graft, nepotism and corruption between him and the local MP.. Really better if Jamaica let outsiders do all the mid size to large construction projects, Jamaican contractors are just too lazy and inept.
Agree 💯
i once went to Jamaica on the plane a met a guy from Schotland who was working in Jamiaca for a dutch road constructor
I bet if they gave the job to the Chinese, we wouldn't have those problems. "We" just can't seem to start a project and bring it in on time and on budget.......
So true but the contractor should be held responsible for his errors.
This is one of the roads that the PNP built and its shocking as there was thus massive cost over run and it looks like only 10 % of work was completed. Yet no one was held accountable. The present government has to ensure that its completed. Last year the NWA had to rebuild a section of the completed portion due to break away from heavy rains. I would never in my life vote for this party as they have a history of gross mismanagement
Mi like the view.....Thank you.
I first traveled the Junction Rd in 1980 when I was living in Kingston. Many happy memories of driving Jamaican roads, but none were more memorable than the old Junction Rd. Love your vids!!
Ok 😀 Thank you
Níce 🔥🔥💯🙏
Thanks for the experience its my first time seeing this..good job...
Blessing'z with thnx to you for sharing this journey, it's a joy back then to traverse this treach of road way to Portland transporting paving asphalt, so it's a welcoming video for me.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂 Merry Christmas🎄

Thanks a million. I am enjoying your riad tours. I could watch them for hours.
I am glad you like them... Happy Holidays!
It's more than 40 years since I drove the Junction. Most of it is better now. Best car to drive on it was a Mini Minor

Very nice driving video tour... well put together and very informative.
Thanks for sharing...
This is my first time seeing this channel and I believe it is the best channel for seeing Jamaica by road. Love the commentary and also the periods when you just let us watch and enjoy. I had to subscribe and like. Thanks. You sound like a tour guide in real life.
Thanks and welcome. I really appreciate you love for this channel... you can also share this channel to family and friends so they can know about us. Happy holidays and all the blessings for 2022
Epic route. Respect . Appreciate your videos. One love. Happy new year. Blessings
Happy new year to you as well @maxey Life TV
Thanks for the video. Great as usual. Big up.
The Junction road brings back memories of my siblings and I taking the country bus alone as children to go spend summer vacation with relatives in Highgate.Thankyou for sharing and helping to relive some of those memories.
It's my pleasure.
@@InJamaica thanks a million times really needed
Wonderful drive awesome nature.
they say the best country to drive in is the Netherlands, but this scenery is simply stunning.
season,s greetings and thanks for the update
Same to you and no problem... Merry Christmas
This reminds me of the road from Duncans to Albert town in Trelawny through the Alphs and then to Christiana, Manchester. Regardless of how winding the road is,some still overtake. Amazing. Both trips leave you in aah. Good job. Love it.
Merry Christmas! The most dangerous road, but yet they still overtake.
Merry Christmas Nicole 🎄
One thing I always said about this road is one does not need a rollercoaster ride at anywhere else than to take a drive through on this road. I have seen people get motion sickness half way through the journey. Now that the South Coast Highway Improvement Project is in full motion through St Thomas to eventually end in Port Antonio, Portland hope this alternative and the ongoing project will not come to a halt.
Nice video keep #visitjamaica travel history 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🌍🌍🌍🔥💯💯💯✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅❤️
You gotta be a brave motorist to drive on these routes though it's about skill and bravery and experience, thanks for risking your life to show us these amazing scenery brother.
Great work thanks 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 keep up your good work Jamaica nice.
Thanks so much
Merry Christmas InJamaica. Thanks for another amazing video.
Same to you and happy holidays @Brenda's Jewellery
Very well put together road trip video. However, I can't see why this road is regarded as the most dangerous. Keep up the good work.
Have you drove ? It one mistake and its over
That road Always have rock slide
Junction road project is a clear example of how nepotism and links staggers development in Jamaica. If an outside contractor got that job, they would’ve made this route so much more appealing and safer to drivers. Can’t wait for St Thomas to finish
Congratulations great video, greetings from spain
Welcome my friend and thank you very much!
wow my place i am coming out there soon so beautiful
I really appreciate this, brings back memories 👍❤️
That's where I got my first driving on public road
The subaru sound good safe journey
Nice trip 👌
Wow this is real country road man, i like driving on them especially when my vehicle is in tune and capable of managing these roads.
Dat was a good drive through my areas....nothing much has changed and there's so much land in St. Mary.
Excellent coverage of the Junction Road. Entirely enjoyable. I would like to suggest a little more editorial content - for example, you may want to comment on the significance of place names like Scotts Hall the maroon community, Devon Pen, the name Pen used to. denote cattle rearing during slavery. Thanks again.
Thank you @ruel elphic, the please is mine and also thanks for the tip.
Great video very informative.
I am glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much merry Christmas
My pleasure and happy holidays!
I love to ride my motorcycle thru junction to town .
To keep a good road they have to take the ovarlode trucks them off the road the road looking very nice
5:05 here is always a problem to be fixed. Great video
Merry christmas and a happy new year.
Happy holidays also to you and your family Peter
I appreciate the tour though on too much of overcast day.. I never been to Mary but hopefully I will get a mini bus to rent to be able to tour Ja on my one of next visits home.
Thank you very much for the video my brother. I am from Portland and I remember traveling through the junction going through Stony Hill and passing through Golden Springs Bakery. Is that bakery still there? I didn’t see you cover it or maybe you took a different route. Keep up the good work. God bless
Thank you and I am not sure if it is there. Maybe someone who knows will reply to you
I just love these videos... so oddly pleasing to watch.... keep posting!! Sending Love from Houston TX!
Thank you .. welcome and I wish you all the best for the new year
I use to pass through during the first major road improvement on the junction over some 50 years ago. I think I recognise one of the many trouble spots , just where you mention the devon pen infant school by that large bridge, the road use to turn on the left, one of the worst spot on the junction ,( if this is the place I am thinking of). Thanks again for reminding us of the names of the diffrent communities.
Do Devils Race Course next.
Here is Devil's Race Course 👉 ruclips.net/video/etkNnTbdS_Y/видео.html

Supercat mentioned Junction in his jamaica song now I know what he is talking about .big up Don dadda
The song is Jamaica Jamaica. “Yu cyan drive from Kingston to Old Harbour Santa Cruz, Sav la Mar, then yu Hanover
If yu cyan drive ah Junction yu muss tun ovah”
MMMMM THE RAIN FALLING THERE HEAVILY MMMMMM.

Such a long journey but I found it quite soothing… just came across your channel. I subscribed…🙌🙌🙌🙌🙏🙏🙏
The road was redone and some of the curbs and corners were taken out many years ago. the time is now reduced. If you think it is narrow now ,you should have seen it then.
In this video is Junction Road before it was done 👉 ruclips.net/video/ISbXiNHAjBg/видео.html
It was redone in the 70s,you can still see signs of it. From grande hole to the end of the world area look to the right you will see old Bridges and turns that they got rid of. By grande hole that whole hill side fell on the roadway before.... mail bus and Victor bus were the only choice then.
Scenic drive but Devon Pen and other districts along the river are no Upper St Andrew !
Merry Xmas.
Thank you and Happy Holidays...Devon Pen is on St Mary Parish.. St Andrew begins at Toms River
Great videos man. Have you been through the Gibraltar area on your way to Brownstown? That is where my family is from.
Thank you and I haven't been to Gibraltar as yet... I will add to my todo list
@@InJamaica do you have a tour service?
The road off junction road used to take you back to constanspring, like you said but I don’t know about now.
If you are talking about the road on the left to Brandon Hill here 👉 ruclips.net/video/QNm8sd4_lpk/видео.html
Then Yes, It should because I went there some time ago and it was impassable... but if it is in the normal state it would take you there

Please allow me to correct your analysis on the junction road , it is one of the most if not the safest thoroughfare in Jamaica, the accidents are far and few ayres fr st mary
Big difference when the weeds are cleared.

Why is it called the wag river?
I was checking why it is called Wag Water but I couldn't find any answers ...Happy Holidays
The wag water river seems very long.
Yes it is
Long and dangerous. I was almost washed away once by that river. My Grandma and one other family member was involved. We are lucky. I was probably 5 yrs old.
Is junction st Mary just a road or is there a town?
Does. The. Wag. Water. River. Runs. Under. Thr. Infamous. Flat. Bridge
Very. Informative. Video

Can someone tell me how junction road became the most dangerous road in Jamaica.
He didn't say in Jamaica he said in the parish
Still caan understand y he would say it's the most dangerous road in the parish.
Most dangerous in St. Mary. Drive Junction on a rainy night and you will get your answer in full.
@@Dogginme I have been driving on this road for 39 years now night, day, rainy sunshine ,truck and car ,the only danger I have met is the town folks driving on the road.
Rain.
I use to drive tour busses in the Seventys a so the road did small man
How much did it cost to put up those caution tapes to prevent you driving into the gullies? The most critical areas have not been touched? Highway robbery!
You forget to show the gorilla rock
Very dangerous road but modern construction should improve this but has not. Why? Badly and cheaply constructed. There should be a bridge at the desert before Broadgate
Muggins tire man a stony Hill ,, him son a run tings now ...RIP Muggins.
Hail up long man taxie driver stony Hill.
Typical Jamaican CONtractors. Money finish and the essential parts of the work hasn't even touched 😔
