- Kawi's rock solid KLR650 is simple and reliable. The 2022 model comes with its big 650cc single mounted on a stiffer frame with a revised steering geometry. ABS is now available as an option and this year they've added fuel injection.
We asked James Simzer to take a ride, on road and off road, for the day and give us his impressions.
It wins on its simplicity, its comfort, and its ability. No wonder it has been around for so long. I love how relaxed it feels to ride. Great bike!
You know every video on this bike is voiced over. We can't HEAR the bike...can Kawasaki please provide a video where's there's no talking. Thank you!!
There’s nothing to hear.
At 2:25 that’s how loud/quiet they are.
Say how quiet they are is most accurate.
Although I have a '22 Adventure, I still enjoy the reviews. I have to agree 100% of what you guys said.
A concise and accurate review, I enjoyed it.
I have the Traveler, like you said super comfortable, way more than the others. You can literally travel for days going like 50mph in amazing comfort. thanks
50? 🤔
I love how these old farts are damning the "new" KLR with faint praise. I have been touring since 1980 and with 250,000 miles of riding on many different machines my 2018 KLR was a very welcome surprise. They spoke of getting away for a weekend? Hah! Try 3000 miles. The Older KLR will do it gladly. My 2018 is no exception. 500 mile days are easy though I will admit, a hotel room at the end of the day is welcome! The bottom line with any motorcycle is fun! The KLR whether carbureted or fuel injected is what fun is all about!
I have always like the KLR, right back from when it was a 600 in the '80s. 2:12 Now, that is a good-looking motorcycle.
I found this, and maybe there are more like it, Magnum Tuning:
This Kawasaki KLR 650 Camo ECU chip is an in-line tuning device that recalibrates the fuel map settings for improved HP, torque, throttle sensitivity and pep. Our ECU chip works great with other aftermarket upgrades including exhaust, intake, cam and performance ignition.
