    I assume this was shot sometime in the 90s, back when the "expensive" u47s only went for around $5000.

    As a drummer who has recorded before, it is always a funny contrast when you have to have a deadened bass drum , to make a live drum sound 😅

    Gee I wonder how long ago this was recording? and I wonder if Eddie was recording in Studio C because that is where CCR recorded Mardi Gras and John Fogerty's solo album The Blue Ridge Rangers Album.

      Its from the mid 1990s I use to have this video it was about 3 hours long when I first got into recording as a teenager, I think the full video is call Adventures In Modern Recording.

    I love how everyone has contradictory opinions on what is best. “Throw a blanket over the bass drum” “put reflective plywood under the bass drum” lol bottom line is just make it sound good to your ears as it goes to “tape”.

    Those beautiful mics cost more then my house 😮

      OK, you got me trying to figure out the value of your house.. here goes.. 1: Is house recent purchas?. 2: Is your value on the mics at todays price or back in the day cost? But first consider this.. in 1982/3 I bought a Neuman K53 and K54 plus power supplies (ex DECCA studio, when digital was begining) for.. wait for it.. £15 each (less than $20 each)... just curious as to what year you'd value the mics vs house.. Yeah, I couldn't help it 🤣

    I feel like the plywood sitting on a wood floor, in order to get more "reflective surface", was unnecessary. It's a wood floor..

      @sinenkaari5477 6 месяцев назад +3

      Ads reflective surfaces, then proceeds to muffle the drum with blanket and added weight...

    I thought Kramer was not into this modern pingpong ball muffled tunnel bassdrum sound but i was wrong. Many artists and people of 60's moved on with the times and it's now only us fans who are "stuck in the past". I find it ironic that he's talking about adding reverb but is taking it away at the same time. Bassdrum mics bleed adds more room to the sound

    That kt... the hast sounded bad very bin liddy and the snare was ringy as hell. Whole thing sounds mint once the audio chef has worked with the ingredients for a few minutes. I learned from this!

      @@JordonBeal Armchair engineer here! Actually, I just pointed out how unnecessary the plywood was on a wood floor. It seems like that would be logical to anyone with any gray matter. Even a semi-intelligent person would know that you can disagree with, or not understand why someone did something, and still respect them. Now, speaking of "armchair engineers", I noticed that your glasswallstudio website has expired. Does that mean you're just one of us now?
