    To answer your question, yes Dave all the NASCAR stuff has the same physics, just a different look for each manufacturer. (Unlike road racing like GT3 etc)

      Which is why it is a disgrace that iRacing charge full price even though in these stock series it is barely more than a livery change. Anyone buying a car in a stock series like trucks should get all the variants for a couple of quid at most.

    Hot tip for young racers out there.
    The H-Shifter transmission in the NASCAR trucks and XFINITY series uses G-Force actuation.
    This means you can pre-select your next gear then engage the shift by either taping the clutch or bliping off throttle.
    Never miss a shift again. (And on short tracks you can gain upto 2 car lengths on restarts)

    • @Tautulis7

      @@Tautulis7 I think it's smart for iRacing to add an artificial delay slightly longer than what you can achieve with the proper hardware. it's needed otherwise everyone would just use flappy paddles to smash up and down the gears and driving authentic to the car would only be a disadvantage. I love the learning experience of it too. If I don't feel like racing I'll do practice laps in the C6 Corvette or the V8 Supercar and work on my sequential shifting and having to blip the throttle for the downshifts.

    Good run Dave, I was your fellow brit in the #18 ploughing the high line with you for a while there before being wiped out by the only wreck that didn't bring out the yellow! You should do more of these, actually you should take a look at an 'open' race (NASCAR A, B or C). Twice the length of fixed so generally less hectic and a good chance of getting long green runs with occasional green flag pit stops. If you see a week that you fancy get in touch and i'll sort you out with the required setup! If you like Michigan keep an eye out for its sister track also....Auto Club (California) Speedway. Also Pocono is one that will favour your road racing background.

      Bumping definitely goes on in iRacing series.
      Just have to be aware of netcode contact and be squared up straight.
      The car behind doesn't want to be coming up any faster than like 2-3mph otherwise bad times happen.

    The racing is always incredible on ovals in IRacing, but it just looks so odd to me. The cars/trucks look like they're floating. I've never tried Iracing and all my oval sim racing has been done on console so maybe I just haven't experienced what it "should" look like. But all the oval racing I've seen (dirt/trucks/modified) all look incredibly floaty..

    • @shagtasticproduction
      @shagtasticproduction 2 года назад +1

      They do handle a bit floaty honestly. No cars are really glued to the track in iRacing so leaning on each other isn't really a thing. Any contact other than the small push from perfectly square behind, will result in a spin. Just one of the quirks of the tire model. Think of it like driving on a wet road in real life. Be gentle with the inputs and no sudden movements. If the car does let go, it's incredibly hard to catch. Once the grip is gone, its just gone. Almost exactly like the wet road scenario. It's not what it "should" feel like but it's what we have. I can feel way more info out of my Hoosier slicks and can catch slides much easier in real life than this sim but it's still fun.
