I came to ride Crested Butte a couple years ago but was only able to get one ride in. Now I'm back on a four day adventure with Chasing Epic and a bunch of you guys.
We start the trip out on some really nice trails to get our legs and lungs fired up and ready for a long weekend.

I think Crested Butte was my favorite town in CO. Glenwood Springs was cool too though. I remember that first ride at altitude and how much your first climbs sucks the wind right out of you!
Only reason I keep watching is to see if Cushcore gets put in!! 😂 👍 guess I’ll be watching forever

Not sure it's even worth putting Cushcore in the front. I can't recall a single time anyone flat spotted a rim on the front. In fact, I can't even recall pinch flats, dating back to pre-tubeless days! I've seen some Taco'd fronts, but cushcore isn't going to stop that!
I guess in theory it could keep the tire profile at lower pressures so you wouldn't roll the tire in corners, which might increase grip, but to me...when you get down that low, and your ENTIRE tire is in contact with the ground, it's just too draggy anyway.
I don't know anyone that runs cushcore in the front, including the local Pro enduro racers. I don't see a point to the weight penalty, or the hassle, when you can run as low as 22 psi on 2.4's and larger, and typically be fine on the front.

Xally Islas like a pool noodle, fits in tire preventing rocks damaging rim since people sometimes run low air pressure on trail to get greater traction
@@willbros1499 I quite often pinch my front tyre, because I like to bumb jump off things and sometimes the "things" are not okay with that...
...looks a great place to ride....and that pizza looks good as well...made me hungry.!

Yeah man Colorado is beautiful. I was there that weekend too, but up in Fort Collins. I’ve snowboarded Crested Butte, but have yet to shred there. Nice ride Brian!

Thats some nice elevation. I remember last year I rode Park City and was dieing off the start and couldn't figure out why. Later that day I figured it out.

I've never had a creak in my crank but I have had my crank in a creek. See what I did there. Epic for sure, rolling , undulating terrain for miles. Chasing Epic is on my to do list!

Road 401 in August this year and it's amazing there! The loose gravel will get you for sure.

For every 1,000 ft of elevation, the sun gets 4% stronger. We used to have some lobster tourists coming in from the ski slopes when I lived up in Snowmass.

CBpov (hahaha see what I did there) never gets old! CB is my most under explored piece of real estate in CO as I've opted for the AspenSnowmassCarbondale side of the elk mountain range 15 miles north for years. And as always, you have reignited the fire to ride more CB! Great stuff Brian!

I've only ridden Crested Butte once...I'd love to go back. Maybe next summer. Lots lots of good riding in Colorado. Puts a hurt on my Texas lungs for sure.

I lived in Telluride for 2 years and know how that feels. Did an 18 mile run back in NJ before I left and couldn't run 2 miles when I got to town which is 8k ft. Water, water and more ... water!

Every ride you're on makes me want to travel off the East Coast. While I love some janky downhills, there's not nearly as much flow up in the northeast. Everything wants to bump your body around.

Who doesn't love Crested Butte? Did you end up going out to Hartman Rocks? Winters in The Crusty Butt aren't bad - go down to Gunnison and it's not very awesome.

Havent watched or ridden my bike in a while. I want to get back out there to jave some fun on it but im too busy with deer season and water polo season and cant afford to get hurt. I run 23/25 PSI with DHR-II tires when it's nice weather, when it's rainy or muddy it's more like 20/23 PSI (front/rear and without cushcore or anything else.) But I also weight close to nothing, I have barely more in my fork (55PSI) hehe... And I might add that I run these pressures not only on casual trails but also on much more gnarly downhill tracks and so far I had one puncture that the sealant dealt with, and that one was my own fault for jumping up a staircase at very high speed in the city... and screwing it up a bit x_x
Haha yes, I'm not very heavy but I imagine you're even lighter! Never thought about changing it up for the mud.

I feel like you dial that air pressure down several notches and still be safe. I ride in rocky Tucson, AZ and at 180 lbs I run as low as 20 on the soft stuff and around 24 in the chunk with Minions.. Have low have you tried going without the CushCore?
I’ve had tons of rim dings and a few broken wheels, so I can’t play with lower pressure.

Throw some knee skins on under your pads. Been using Pearl Izumi sun knees under my pads and no chafing/ abrasions. Will change your life
