That blocking is a great idea. My husband lifted the walls when he repaired the floors in our mobile. Your way is so much easier and would have resulted in far less cussing and tool throwing.
I went overboard on my brother's trailer. I dug the particle board out with the oscillating multi tool and pushed the plywood under the walls. I mainly did this cause the particle board was rooted and I'm ocd.
Those boys are going to LOVE their new room! Well done Angela....I do the same sometimes with the hub (try turning it over)....correcting the things he doesn't see....he can get a tad bent over it sometimes but hey...right is right....right?? ❤
Wonderful, I use to live in a old mobile home, the floors all soft the only things holding me up were carpet and the vinyl floor coverings. I remember going through this. It wasn’t easy, this was in the 70’s. Ah the good old days. Was so happy when we could actually walk without fear. God bless
You two really work well as a team. When Angela suggested turning the board over, Sam went right ahead and did it. In my house, it wouldn't be that way. I've gotten to where I work on my projects alone and it's much nicer.
Love it! Love your work ethics too Angela! I'm like you, when you do something, even if it doesn't show, you know it's there if you don't clean it up. :) It's called pride! lol TFS You guys are doing awesome work!!
Y'all are doing a great job. I love your kindness toward each other. I'm sure there are many couples working on home projects that could take a lesson from you two. 👏☘😊
I really appreciate y’all doing these videos. We have a 1980’s mobile home. And I’ve been discouraged about fixing it up. But with watching y’all it helps.
Love watching fellow North Carolinians. Having a mobile home, I was going to redo until I decided to move to Maine. Still watch y'all though :) Learning a lot.
I am in the process of purchasing a 1970's double wide and many of your videos are spot on. Answer exactly the questions, I was worried about. Thanks. You're going to be my reference guide. Still have not closed on the place yet. Once, I do, I have almost as many things to do, as you show in your videos.
I love how you both work together!! I feel ya when it comes to getting up and down, what shouldn't be a problem really hurts at the end of the day, but then this too will pass.
Like you Angela , I like peace of mind. when we moved into our apartment , the sides of the bath in the master bathroom came off to sort out a small leak and i was shocked to find all kinds of tiling and such under the bath , so that was all removed and trashed and then vacuumed out .
You two are doing such great work! I have redone 6 buildings in my life, one being a 5 unit apartment building so I know hard work, too. I just bought my 1st mobile home and actually feel a little overwhelmed at the work it needs, but you guys have helped alleviate my worries as I start digging in. I'm so glad I stumbled across your channel and I love every episode.
That pop out we call them Bays. Think you are on the high seas and go sailing into a small bay. Our house has one it allows us a view up and down the terraced street we live in. I like watching the way you work together. Sam you always seem to be teaching everyone great idea not everyone has your experience so why not. Best wishes from UK 🇬🇧.
SAM AND ANGELA, YOU BOTH ARE DOING SUCH AN AWESOME JOB, KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. THANK YOU FOR SHARING WITH US AND I WILL SAY DOING THE FLOORS IN A MOBILE HOME IS A NIGHTMARE MY HUSBAND AND I DID OURS YEARS AGO.
Good job guys . Electric staple gun saves the wrists and hands . . Lot faster install . Angela's new construction machine . . Keep up the excellent work and content guys . 👍👍.
You aint kidding about pricing! I soooo lucked out and found a whole pallet of Advantek sublfoor at the Habitat store for just under a $1000 after taxes. That's 46 sheets. I wasn't ready for my subfloor job yet and I'm still a few months out for it but I found this stack last year just before the prices started going nuts. I lucked out big time.
YES!! BLOCKING!! Now I understand. I couldn't figure out how in the world you get under the wall when fixing the soft spot on the floor...NOW I GET IT. THANKS TO YOU I can knock off 3-4 things on the home fix up list. Certainly appreciate. Thank you.
Here in Arizona plywood and osb are about the same with osb being a buck or two less depending on thickness, we ended up doing a 3/4 plywood over the existing floor at $42. a sheet, I liked your 2X blocking on the ends, great job. Thanks Chuck
Just found your channel and I'm hooked. I am from Brevard but living mostly near Shelby since I married a man from these parts...but I kept my place up there and we go back and forth when we can. You are doing a great job on your home. Thank you for filming and sharing. I am binge watching your videos during this rainy weather.
Have y’all noticed a reduction in your electric bill after doing the extra insulation in your kitchen and dining room floors? I’d think it couldn’t hurt!!
We've not, but we've also added Angela's soap shed and Sam's workshop is fully heated now, too. Also we currently heat with propane and not electric heat in the home. That being said, in the Winter we can tell a huge difference in floor temps between kitchen and the not-yet-done laundry room area!!!
Woohoo! I just got my first oscillating multitool and I feel like I can accomplish anything now!!! Thanks for your great advice that led me to my new can't live without tool!!
Great job, the boys are going to be a lot cosier in their new bedroom, what colours are you going for? Have you let them choose? Angela, using those tools like a true professional! Go girl!👍😉xx
Just a suggestion Rainier 8-foot the opposite direction of your window that way you can cover more studs with the 8-foot part instead of the 4th part and it gives a far better rigidity and strength
The "Blocking" you use is called a "Nail Block" or just a "Nailer", in most cases. The purpose is because the decking goes flush with the wall and leaving no place to nail between the Joists. The blocks are for nailing the sheeting to the wall between the joists. I know that is all "French".. lol
Looking good and I can't wait to see what comes next. That extra insulation on top is also going to help you notice heat bill being less I am thinking. I know when we redid the whole home ours was cut in more than half. Alleluia.........as we do live in cold wet/snow country. Looking good...........you two work well together and it certainly takes a team. Blessings
Wow...you both make what you do look so easy. Looks great👍👍 As always, I enjoyed going along with you on your journey. Take care you guys. God bless 🙏❤️
So glad we found your channel. We are also renovating an older mobile home, it's a 1973 Homeco. There was a fire in it before we bought it, so we had a lot of soot and fire damage to deal with first. We also had to deal with rot in the walls. So much of what you guys are going through we can fell your pain. We are trying to do everything on a tight budget. The panel box was burned and had to be changed, so our big concern is will they let us have proper power turned on. You guys inspired us to also get a oscillating tool, which we love so far, thanks so much for your videos. Right along with you here in Canada!
Welcome aboard! We're happy to have you here and hope your project goes well! We know the hurdle of getting things done to get the power turned on. We had to do a handful of quick repairs to our home 5 years ago to get ours on. Now we're able to go back and do things right. :)
when i did new flooring i used osb but found it fragile esp compared to floor boards and we redid it with one inch plywood not a problem since but essentially its what you can afford and adjust as necessary

@@sam-and-angela for sure! Give a little hop. God bless
If one doesn’t think of it, the other will. Great teamwork!!!!
Happy Wife....Happy Life. The boys will be so excited...

For real. It's just not worth the hassle to work with you-know-who. lol
You make it look so easy! But I know it’s not; but worth it. You’ll have a brand new home when you’re through.
That's very true... always looks so much easier on a video than in real life! :)
Love it! Love your work ethics too Angela! I'm like you, when you do something, even if it doesn't show, you know it's there if you don't clean it up. :) It's called pride! lol TFS You guys are doing awesome work!!

Yay for getting r done!!!
I look forward to seeing it all finished and the looks on the ferrell boys' faces!

Aww, thank you so much!
I love your sense of humor and attention to detail. I have no doubt it will turn out great ! God bless you all.
I really appreciate y’all doing these videos. We have a 1980’s mobile home. And I’ve been discouraged about fixing it up. But with watching y’all it helps.
So happy to help encourage, good luck guys!!
Always a joy to watch you renovate! Take care
I definitely would be sore. This almost 72 year old would have trouble doing floor work. Nice going.
I hear ya on that!!!
Love watching fellow North Carolinians. Having a mobile home, I was going to redo until I decided to move to Maine. Still watch y'all though :) Learning a lot.

great job, people don't understand how much work this actually is, you all make a great team!
What a great explanation of blocking. This is going to be so satisfying when it's all done.
Great job you sweet folks!! Watching you helps me if we were ever to do that in our mobile home.
Our pleasure!
When you said you hit a new milestone, I was floored...get it? floored? You know, you just...nevermind.
🤪
Looking good nice job
You guys sure are hard workers and work so well together.

Enjoyed watching y’all work together-!!! Your room is gonna be fabulous ! 😘😘
Thank you! 🤗
Between OSB and ply there is a big diff. in strength and holding screws/nails! You should be gluing it down with liquid nails though! looks good!
YES!! BLOCKING!!

Oh my goodness. I went to your store and just realized... I've purchased your soap before as gifts. Wow!!! Small world.
Awesome!!
@@sam-and-angela I placed another order. :)
Have y’all noticed a reduction in your electric bill after doing the extra insulation in your kitchen and dining room floors? I’d think it couldn’t hurt!!
I’m also wondering this

I’ve just recently found this channel, I’m loving it ❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️
Welcome!!
You're right, lumber prices are insane right now! Great job on the flooring. We enjoyed your video!
Yes they are!!! We hope they come back down soon, but fear they will not.
Angela, I love your shirt! I don't rise and shine either. LOL
We're not sure yet... just recently finished the layout design in our head and bed design idea. :) We'll probably let them choose -- to an extent. LOL
Just a suggestion Rainier 8-foot the opposite direction of your window that way you can cover more studs with the 8-foot part instead of the 4th part and it gives a far better rigidity and strength
I am sure it is an accomplishment , because I do know what means to redo a floor in a mobile home.
Consider adding 2x2” to your outside stud walls. This would allow for deeper insulation on those walls.
I'm accomplished too. I'm a little sore, up and down ladder doing spring cleaning😉
It's that time of year! :)
U guys are really good with your filming
I did the same thing with the blocking. So not worth the hassle to lift a wall! YES!!! I have a 1996 and mine is the same way with the underbelly.
Awesome 💕
The manual style is hard to deal with especially when putting insulation ceiling you trying to hold and staple you guys doing great
👏👏👏 Thanks for sharing. It's a lot of work but will be nice. 👍🙏☝️
I love these kind of videos I learn alot from yall today I can’t wait untill it’s finish hugs and prayers
Great job. Angela is s great remodeler.
You're learning from the expert. of sorts.
Great job on the flooring👍
The floor looks great !! Nice job.
You make it look easy, but I know it's a lot of hard work!!
Looking forward to next video !!!
Our sons 2007 mobile home has the floor insulated the very same.
Thank you! You guys are doing a fabulous fantastic job 👍
Looking good you two👍😊...
Made some good progress. See ya on the next one!
I'm going to take your advice and just take it easy for awhile that was hard work! You guys do the same!!
Love- and I'm checking into that electric stapler. The manual heavy duty is..... hard. See ya'll next video :-)
GREAT JOB. I would have used some glue in a caulk gun just to help with the squeaks, but my hats off to your project.
Hi there
👍
Have a good day be safe god bless
Nice progress guys. 💖🐱👤
Good afternoon Sam and Angela .
Another great project. I love seeing your teamwork!👍
I am fortunate that the under belly on my 1974 mobile home is plywood
pop outs and angels would drove me nuts. great job guys.. have a Blessed day!

For sure the video helps with that! LOL Overall it's easy steps, just taking them one at a time and not looking too far ahead. :)
Great 👍 job! Looking good 🥰☘🍀
Thank you 😁
Ya I clean up stuff like that too Angela can't sweep it under the rug or floor I guess
That is going to be great.
I put tile down in my art shack (The White House) day before yesterday. Yesterday and today have been rough. I am so sore.
