      What the self-appointed 'elites' don't want the rest of us to know is that you actually need less than 1/2 acre for every 3 families and you will be able to produce more food than those 3 families need. Victory Gardens worked for a reason. Me personally, I have a brown thumb. I have to stick to animals and so-called food forest. Way too much food. And it's pesticide free

      I think that's called good luck. If wild birds catch a bad strain in a factory farm and pass it on to your birds you're equally screwed. Not your fault, but having a small flock doesn't magically safeguard you from avian flu. No matter what the strain...

    Should abolish factory farm practices and replace with free range ones. I'm not saying go vegan or vegetarian, but they have the right idea, don't financially support meat or dairy industry until they have reformed their practices, and not before. You don't even need a lot of chicken or beef, even still, just source your meat from local small farms. We need more local farms and a local city/town based produce economy. There should be an animal rights class action lawsuit filed against these meat companies.

    • @OneMoreAnimalAndItsAZoo
      @OneMoreAnimalAndItsAZoo Год назад +3

      No. It's as absurd as wiping out a whole family because one person had a virus.

    • @soroh0062255
      @soroh0062255 Год назад +1

      If your birds are travellingx and can possibly infect others then unfortunately it might be necessary. If you can issolate until the disease has fully passed through and are sure your birds are no longer an infection risk then you can safely do that instead.
      With commercial situations money is a huge part of the situation. Can a farmer afford to wait? Or will it turn out financially better to cut their losses and start over quickly? Are you selling eggs or meat? Will the chickens still be at the correct age after isolation to be sold for meat? Etc.
      Small backyard chicken families don't have this same thought process running in the background. If you see that one of your own small flock is sick, monitor the rest too. Medicate if needed, and be extra careful washing hands and boots before coming into contact with other birds so you don't spread whatever they've caught.

    • @shadowwreckardz
      @shadowwreckardz Год назад

      @@soroh0062255 I hear you. Here's what concerns me about that protocol. Bird flu is normal and has probably been around as long as birds. Until recently it was certainly nothing you would kill an entire flock over. The only reason we're doing so now is, we've been told this particular strain is different from all the others that have come before it. Highly pathogenic and a severe. danger to other animals and humans. I'll be transparent. I don't believe that. Of course, if we keep killing off flocks there's really no way to dispute it.

    Viruses mutate and evolve naturally in the wild, it happens all the time. While these large chicken farms are awful and should definitely be abolished, that’s not where a highly infectious strain would’ve come from

  • @soroh0062255
    @soroh0062255 Год назад

    Can a highly virulent strain come from a back yard ? Sure, you could get unlucky and halen to hand it halen in a small flock. But is it far far far far more likely to happen in a space where there's tons of birds packed together? Of course it is!! You're multiplying the chances over and over again.

    This should be regulated by the government in huge chickens 🐓 hatcheries here's why the problem is that you have people who want to keep chickens as pets and cultivate eggs but government has rules and mandates to make sure that the chickens 🐓 in there care are safe and healthy but when you have people who don't know proper care and safety it can be a problem im not saying people can't have a chicken 🐔 keep eye on them see if they are sick there are some people who are responsible and do take good 👍 care of them ok and people who love there chickens ok those who are not taking care of chickens properly should not have them chickens should be confiscated i repeat not everyone who owns chickens are bad no let's just be careful i don't want to see someone die from bird flu ok

    If I could save all the chickens in a factory farm, I would. It is about the most evil 💩 you can do to an animal tbh. It's why I completely quit buying chicken products from the store, but mayo. Once you start raising chickens on your own, you have a better respect and understanding of them. It's hard for me to cull something I raised, and made me realize the animals I do raise tend to be better tasting, and I'm more aware of it's life and the importance of its death, as opposed to just having no regard for the dead animals I buy at the store. I go out of my way to spoil every animal I own, as they are my tools, emotional support, my family, my life. If they're not happy, I'm not happy.. vise versa..
