@@manmo0808 AR is a good Shooting guard that can pass, while D'lo was a good point guard that could shoot. AR has had some really good games lately, but every time a team makes it a point of emphasis to pressure him, he struggles, and I'm not sure he understands the totality of what being a point guard is. A good point guard will have a lot of passes that are not assists, because they may be the first pass in a chain of passes before an assisted bucket. Essentially, hockey assists don't get put on the stat chart, but they matter. D'lo understood these things. I have been frustrated with D'lo's inconsistency as much as the next guy, but I was never in favor of trading D'lo for DFS, because although we need DFS, I've always said that we cannot give up a playmaker without getting one in return, because our offensive system does better the more playmakers are in a given unit. We now need another playmaker, and we are going to have to give up a 1st rounder, and there is a chance they may not be better than D'lo, or they may come with different strengths and weaknesses. So with the D'lo trade, we just traded one issue for another. It was a lateral move. Playmakers are harder to find than 3/D wings, even though both are valuable. I think Cam Reddish could have held down the fort on the wings until Vando returned. The D'lo trade was a bit premature. I will not forget the night D'lo put up 16 assists in a win, and LBJ sat that night. JJ Reddick did not look thrilled when he was asked about D'lo's performance. He looked sick to his stomach, in some troubled contemplation, as if he knew they were going to trade D'lo, yet he just saw D'lo run his offense to perfection. It's like he knew that when LBJ gets back, he knows the offense wouldn't look like that, but that he has to cater to LBJ. The Lakers have looked good on offense when LBJ sits. Yes LBJ raises the Lakers ceiling, but the ball moves better when its not running through LBJ. I think LBJ has played much more within the team flow compared to the last two years, so I'm not trying to blame LBJ.

Tough loss, valid point about AD, is he untradable?? Ayo is even less of a facilitator than AR. I'm not trying to say keep AR, because I like the general idea of your trade, but if LBJ is the best facilitator in your line-up, then the offense has to run through the 40yr old man, and we know he can't do that consistently without sacrificing the defensive end, and the motion offense we are running needs more high IQ passers than just LBJ. We are already seeing how the offense looks worse minus a facilitator, since we traded D'lo, so going from AR to Ayo is making that issue worst, even though AYO is the better player. We should use our assets to add a playmaker and a center. If you could replace Ayo with an exceptional playmaker, I'd be all for it.

Wood in his prime is better on offense and as a rebounder than any available role player out there, and Vando is better than most available role players on defense.
Rui played great (except for his FT shooting). AD and AR played subpar - Zubac dominated AD on the glass and shot much more efficiently as well and AR put up pretty weak numbers as far as points and assists and had too many turnovers. Nice to see DK hitting some shots though.
First and foremost we need an inside scoring rebounding big and a guard who's a good ball-handler and facilitator - no more defense-only players who was weak scorers and ball-handlers like Vando and DFS.

Ayo is even less of a facilitator than AR. I'm not trying to say keep AR, because I like the general idea of your trade, but if LBJ is the best facilitator in your line-up, then the offense has to run through the 40yr old man, and we know he can't do that consistently without sacrificing the defensive end, and the motion offense we are running needs more high IQ passers than just LBJ. We are already seeing how the offense looks worse minus a facilitator, since we traded D'lo, so going from AR to Ayo is making that issue worst, even though AYO is the better player. We should use our assets to add a playmaker and a center. If you could replace Ayo with an exceptional playmaker, I'd be all for it.
@@Eastra3 ayo will be fine as a secondary playmaker just the defensive upgrade alone along with the ridiculous 3 level scoring ability of lavine would make the offense run very smoothly. this gives the lakers a legit shot. obviously id rather have a prime chris paul over ayo dosunmu but beggars can't be choosers. the lakers would have the best rim protection in the league, tons of size and athleticism and switchability rock solid perimeter defense and they would have the versatility to play the matchup game where they could go big or small and excel at either style similar to the 2020 team. dosunmu also rarely turns the ball over averaging just slighty over 1 turnover a game. also the lakers would always have 2 of either lebron lavine and davis on at all time to ensure the offense is always competent. lerbon is 40 but after that 8 day break he took he looks very spry and explosive im sure by the time the playoffs role around he will take more of whatever he took to get his youth back.

Rui played great (except for his FT shooting). AD and AR played subpar - Zubac dominated AD on the glass and shot much more efficiently as well and AR put up pretty weak numbers as far as points and assists and had too many turnovers. Nice to see DK hitting some shots though.
