Hi all welcome back to another video Dereck Reacts back at it again! This time around we take a look at first time reaction made possible by all of you with Troye Sivan and his 2018 song "BLOOM." Troye lets loose and grabs my attention right from the getko with those cool chill synths and nice beats. The lyrical content of the song is also intriguing, see my bananas fall off the wagon now!

17 U.S. Code § 107 - Limitations on exclusive rights: Fair use

Music is coming a long way from the days when Freddy and Elton had to pretend to be straight, and any LGBT sexuality had to disguised with double entendres and wordplay. George Michael wrote a song called "I Want Your Sex", but the music video had to be heterocentric. "Bloom" is a trailblazing song because while there are some double entendres and hidden meanings, Sivan never has to pretend his object of desire is female.
His videos are BRILLIANT and he does a BEAUTIFUL video called Heaven ,that tributes to the history of Pride.
Come on Dereck, Troy is clearly referring to flowers blooming LOL

I love Troye Sivan, he is really talented. The album “Bloom” is immense. Not a bad track. He is also a good actor.
This is the title track from his album Bloom, and the album is fantastic. Other songs to check out: Seventeen, My My My!, Dance to This (with Ariana Grande) and my favorite, Lucky Strike. Troye is an actor as well, had a great part in the movie Boy Erased. Great reaction Dereck!

Brilliant song, fun to dance to, and the double entendre lyrics cheekily subversive for a mainstream pop release. The two main artistic references in the video appear to me to be reminiscent of Caravaggio and Robert Mapplethorpe, two artistic bad boys and cultural gay icons. We see lush baroque still lives with a partially clad youth juxtaposed with isolated male body parts, 60s/70s aesthetic, framed like photographs. Later there are references to Madonna and Leigh Bowery for good measure. Simply, a fabulous video.
