PSA: don't ever try to put Sinnertwin into arm mode. The clearances on the sides of his chest aren't wide enough for his head to swing down like it's supposed to - the head'll snap off before it ever gets in place. Anyways my favourite of the set is Rippersnapper. He's trying so hard to be scary (a walking shark with claws!) but he can't help being the cutest. Love that for him.
Definitely my favourite combiner team. Hot pink and white? Love it! Those yellow eyes set in that purple face on a white head? Stunning! The only combiner guys I owned were Blot and Cutthroat...largely because the chance of getting any entire G1 combiner team as a kid were as likely as me now scoring with Margot Robbie after jumping 10 doubledecker buses on a moped blindfolded.
Absolutely love this dude. I love the kaiju beast modes, the vibrant colors, the articulation, the head sculpt, and the proportions. Hun-gurr is probably the best torso bot ever.
Ok one more story and then it's bedtime. So during Power of the Primes, I made up a set of bios for the Terrorcons. I remember the Technobots and the Terrorcons getting the bottom of the barrel when it came to tech specs. (Like Strafe is super awesome and can break the sound barrier by just taking off.) Sinnertwin: Element - Fire; Was a loyal zalamander before the corruption. Now he's a treacherous 2 header knuckler that spits gouts of flame. Cutthroat: Element - Air; Originally, a courageous windfury. After the corruption, she became a cowardly Harpy. She goes for an enemies eyes when she attacks. Blot: Element - Earth; Once the noblest member of the Iron Oni, corruption has turned him into a savage Rust Ogre. Ripper/Snapper: Element - Water; A tiburon (shark people), he became a shark demon thanks to the corruption. In robot mode, he's Ripper, a silent serial killer type. In beast mode, he's Snapper, a relentless predator. Hunger: Element - Void; The source of the corruption. Once the other four combined with a golden dragon (Aetheron) to form a guardian. The Quintessons wanted to study Combination and eliminate a nuisance so they altered a dragon installing unceasing hunger. Then they captured the golden one and forced the defenders to combine with Hunger. They became corrupted into what we now see as the Terrorcons.
I completely agree with you on wishing Rippersnapper could open his mouth. Sinnertwin and Hun-gurrr too. Sinnertwin has possibly the coolest name in the franchise. His alt mode is an orthrus from Greek mythology. Great video and Merry Christmas.
Funnily enough I always do the limbs the opposite way around to how you have them. You didn't need to know that at all but I feel good for telling you. Thanks for telling us what Blot turns into. I could have looked on the wiki but I'm extremely lazy
You might say I _still_ lack a complete G1 combiner but, I've got one Terrorcon, two Combaticons, two Stunticons, one Technobot, two Protectobots, two Aerialbots, and thanks to the Scramble City gimmick, that means two full combiners! Pro-tip, whichever team leader you have will determine which combiner the super-robot looks like.
It’s weird that the combination of a bunch of vile monsters looks more approachable than any of the bots on their own, with that head looking pretty normal by comparison. Is there any greater honour for a deception than being anointed as a *BAD BASTARD* by Gavin?
I always rationalized Sinnertwin and Hun-Grrr having such similar alt modes by deciding that Hun-Grrr was a Hydra, and Sinnertwin was Orthrus, AKA a two-headed dog monster that's literally Cerberus's less-impressive brother people tend to forget about and was killed as part of Heracles's trials.
I was gonna say that Sinnertwin was, to me, not a dragon so much as a Kerberos minus one head, but I didn’t know about Orthrus so thanks for the mini mythology lesson 🤘
Yeah, the Terrorcons were the only Combiner set I completed when I was a kid...then my cousins stole Blot so Dragstrip had to be their arm, so he's an honorary Terrorcon for me. I lost them in a move, but regained them in 2004 when I caught some folks who attended Botcon 2004 (the unofficial one) and bought the set off of them for $30. I still have them and they're in pristine condition, apart from Sinnertwin's stickers. I eventually Reprolabeled him up. They're definitely my favorite Combiner team because of nostalgia reasons.
Your gesture at the Tonka Constructicons has me keen for a more full review in the future. Originality it wasn't coming to Australia, so I didn't care. But now it's on sale on Amazon and I've been wondering if I should finally invest in my first combiner team.
For some reason the Terrorcons are my favorite combiner team. I managed to gather all of their Power of the Primes counterparts and I am satisfied with them
Just letting you all know, along with these edgy transformers, there was one called Rodney. Don’t believe me? Look it up yourself. (Wasn’t a combiner, he was a headmaster)
Hun-gurr is great. Wish I had one. Should have stolen my mate's one when we were kids and I moved away. I got the PotP Blot at TFN and it's made me think I should get that modern Abominus now. He's such a charming little gremlin.
I got some of the Terrorcons in whichever "wars" line they came out. I enjoy the designs a lot, I just wish I was more into TF at the time, I'd love to get the rest.
I have the POTP ones, and they're very nifty with some clever repurposing, but Sinnertwin to a certain degree and Cutthroat to a much greater degree are kinda fragile. Just so you're forewarned.
I wish you success in that, mate! I'm hoping they re-release the Generations Selects Seacons someday, because most of those suckers sold out before I even knew they were available!
Easy second favourite combiner team, and I even have a childhood Cutthroat around somewhere. I picked up all four limbs, in original Japanese boxes off eBay around 2003, but couldn't find a Hun-grr so let them go again. Would definitely jump at knockoffs if I saw them.
More combiners should come in hot pink! Abominus and Megatronia are the only two I can think of. Unless you count Flywheels as a combiner, and even then, he's Maroon...
I had the original Technobots and the Terrorcons. Loved them all. I used them with Metroplex and Scoponok. They fit with my Micomaster city setup. Since they were monsters, the scale didn't matter. Great set of toys. Again, a great review. You need to get the G1 Technobots. Or did you already have them. I remember the new version of the Techobots you reviewed. And you didn't show G1 Computron, so...
Loved the Terrorcons but I only had Hun-Gurr and Rippersnapper. I know they were supposed to be foils to the Technobots but weren’t there Autobot monsters they could have fought with? Never had those.
All the terrorcon member’s names sound like obscure metal bands from the 80s that you discover accidentally after getting recommended a RUclips video where someone uploaded one of their songs 13 years ago
Blot is my favorite. He is the poster child for bad, post-movie deceptions who are incredibly stupid. Those happen to be my favorite transformers, so the whole set does have quite the appeal for me
the first (and only G1) combiner group I managed to collect in the wild. I was given the gift set of the Arielbots, but that's just not the same. I've always been fond of Blot, but Hun-grr has that lovely white, gray, and magenta color scheme so I appreciate that more as an adult.
Why would any kid want only part of a combiner team, their oarents would know they wanted the complete team and if thdy couldnt afford it, the kid would known plenty of alternatives to ask their Parents for
Abominus, Computron, King Poseidon. That's it. There are no other Combiners. Apart from Dinoking. And Road Caesar. And God Neptune. And Liokaiser. And Raiden. And Sixliner, Sixturbo, Sixbuilder and Sixwing. And Landcross. No, not Landcross, he's the worst bloody one of the lot. Awful, just awful. This isn't working. Ahem. Abominus, Computron, King Poseidon. That's it. There are no other Combiners released in the West that I remember from being a kid. That'll do. Christ.

I think Emgo did that in his review which was kinda sad to see
Had that happen to me.
I like how they weren’t really changed when reissued
It's funny how four of them transforms into mythical creatures and there is Rippersnapper, who is a sharkman with guns on his back.
Definitely my favourite combiner team. Hot pink and white? Love it! Those yellow eyes set in that purple face on a white head? Stunning! Well well, a review of my favorite combiner group? Christmas sure has come early this year!
gulp
I worship this monstrous boi character. Favorite combiner
Anyone else, when they were a kid, think that the red stickers on Blot's chest were his eyes, and his beast(?) mode head was his nose?

Well Blot transforms from a brick with limb into a brick with limbs.
Thanks for all the vids Gav. Merry Christmas!
You know a review's gonna be good when the first thing you see is the mighty Blot.
To this day, Blot has my favorite toy photo caption on tfwiki: “It’s a thingy!”
The Terrorcons! Heck yeah!
Such a cool team. Can't wait to see them in the Rise of the beasts movie.
🤓😂🤓

I haven’t thought about Rodan in ages, thanks for the repressed memories.
You know my old neighbor had a license plate reading RODAN?
When you read an article about certain transformers on TFwiki and the next day they appear on TRDQ...
Gavin, why do you know my search history?
I'm the best

0:55 Rippersnapper didn't get to join the Terrible Tower of Terrorcons? Poor thing! He got left out in the cold! Sad sad :(
I believe that hunger in now called twinferno...
Always meant to pick up a KO Terrorcon set on eBay but never did, they look fantastic.

@@TRDQ can't wait, stud! 😉
This teak and G1 Ultra Magnus are the two I wouldn't mind reacquiring someday.
Fun video! Thank you!
I've got the POTP Abominus, and I'm fairly happy with it, even though Cutthroat is on the fragile side.
The only G1 combiner who can do poses. It's even more posable than the PotP version!
For some reason the Terrorcons are my favorite combiner team. I managed to gather all of their Power of the Primes counterparts and I am satisfied with them

So good, they made two other monster combiners later on.
The names of these ones definitely sound very edgy. So evil. I love it. 🎉
Rippersnapper is my favourite one
‘Cotton bud up his arse’… I really can’t watch anyone else’s reviews now. 😂

Blot doesn't even know what Blot is.
The best kind of G1 team. Absolutely hideous robot modes, garish colours, nonsensical engineering. 10/10 toys.
