“Giving grounds, however, justifying the evidence, comes to an end; but the end is not certain propositions striking us immediately as true i.e. It is not a kind of seeing on our part; it is our acting which lies at the bottom of the language game.” ― Ludwig Wittgenstein, On Certainty
A world view from the old days of Empire. How about asking what the Church of England contributed to British History. They opposed the abolition of slavery. They opposed the Reform Act. There is not one jot of an argument that British Christianity has anything to contribute to a modern society
Why the C of E as opposed to, say, the Baptists or Christians in general? Most, if not all, of our mental furniture and practices are derived from Christianity. Furthermore, Christian missionaries made a major ethical, medical, and epistemic contribution to other cultures. One such example is the way Christians managed to abolish the Hindu practice of widows being cremated following the death of their husbands, which is known as Sati. Most of the social reforms of the 19c. were carried out by Christians. Modern science emerged from a Christian worldview. What about the idea of human rights as only ever emerged from Christianity. I could spend all day adding to this list: the founding of universities, and the great legacy of music, literature, and visual art. By the way, the abolition of slavery was achieved by Christians.

Demonstrate that not just a god, but **YOUR** god actually exists. THEN you can make claims about where it is needed.
What would such a demonstration look like? Would it be in the form of an empirical proposition?
