    What do you mean military engineers don't build roads? Rome's roads were built by Legionnaires. Engineers were an important part of Rome's dominance.

      True! The original road builders! Although, tbf, Rome was mostly a militarized state for a long time.

      ​@@OnSpotTV US-centric, but the US' highway system and many many bridges was also largely done by the Army Corp of Engineers. Logistics infrastructure is absolutely a military thing.
      While yes, the roads most of us drive on on a day-to-day basis are done by civilian engineers, the roads in Civ more closely represent the inter-city highways that would totally be a military engineer thing.
