Wow, this looks an awesome challenge, I couldn't work out the distance as I rode from Edinburgh back to Hertfordshire, then I saw your course, good luck with day 2, that is some serious time in the saddle. I hope you have the wind behind you. Looks like I know what I'll be watching for the next week or so....good luck.

As commented before, I have similar bike with same R5 bar/stem. I'm running 32c Vittoria Corsas and they are great on long ride - did first Century on the bike (in miles) and it was zero problem - just as comfy as my Roubaix endurance bike. Have fun.
PS - people say Seattle weather is similar to the UK, but we do get a pretty sunny summer. Not sure how you deal with a July day that requires a puffy coat and is totally cloudy. Must be used to it.
I hate that I’m in a puffer jacket in July. It’s not normal for this time of year to be this cold and wet

@@tacosnachosburritos Nice! Which version? Which color? If I had to do it again, I’d do the Ultegra one with the 40/44 reserve wheels. And I love the R5 bar/stem as long as you know your fit well
@@jwfriar I wasn't sure. I was thinking of the Force eTap, why do you think the Ultegra? I like the white one but it doesn't seem to be available, so I think the black. Which color do you have?
@@tacosnachosburritos I have golddust - which looks great, but personal choice. I got the rival one, where I am mixing in some force and red. I think between my SRAM bike and Ultegra bike, the pure shifting, lower weight and brakes favor Shimano and the SRAM is better with compatibility and innovation. I like the batteries on the derailleurs and the shifting style on the SRAM too.

@chrishallrides what brand are your bottle cage holders? It's nice you can attach the pump and dynaplug kits to it.
Theyre not part of the bottle cages. The Dynsplug comes with a special mount and so did the pump which you put behind the bottle cages. The cages are from Elite though
Hope you enjoy, I wish there was a map to say type of road surface, I want to cycle around the full coast of UK but on current bike 28mm is max tyre size by frame manufacturer

What do you think of the saddle? I have found very favorable reviews from other sources, curious to hear your opinion
We did some pressure mapping and it suits me well. I had no issues ok the ride which is fantastic. To be fair the saddle I used before, the pro stealth worked well for me as well but this one’s marginally better I think. But all in all I’ve been really impressed with it

Do you mean the little tool roll? It’s an old Attacus one. I’ll do in a vlog what’s in it
@@ChrisHallRides Yeah Chris..... the tool roll. I have tried a silica one, but returned it as I felt it didn't pack well for what I wanted to put inside it.....And it didn't appear to be water tight? A wee snippet on video on the attacus roll is a good suggestion Chris..... thanks! 👌 👍
