Thank you for showing this video, it really made it so clear how to add the griffin cord. This will help me as I am new to beading and often panic that I haven’t left enough cord.
This will come in handy for a necklace I am currently working on. It is very long and I was wondering how I was going to add on more silk. Thank you very much.
Yes, I know the spools are you are talking about. They were nice. We do currently have a lot of Griffin Silk on the cards if that is something you could use: beadaholique.com/search?type=product&q=griffin*+silk*
Hi, Very nice and simple, thank you. But I cannot understand how did you atach the needle to the black thread (0:12 ). Please, be so kind an tell . Thank you :)
This kind of silk comes with the needle already attached, so what you're seeing is a silk cord where the needle has been built-in to allow you to thread very thin pearl holes. It's called Griffin silk, you can see the selection of colors we carry here: beadaholique.com/collections/beading-thread-needles?_=pf&pf_v_brand=Griffin
thanks so much for this! I got a question, after the first knot why do we need to add those extra 4 beads/knots before proceeding to only the new thread?
Hmmm...where the new and old cords join up, and then you cut, wouldn't the knots where the "tails" are cut come undone because one part of the knot has been cut and is no longer secure? What about a dab of glue on the knots where the cutting occurs?
We highly recommend measuring the holes just in case. The sizes available are 0.3mm (sz.0), 0.45mm (sz. 2), 0.6mm (sz. 4) and 0.7mm (sz. 6). Thanks for watching!

Thanks. I was so bummed out when they quit selling the spools of silk. I don't understand why they stopped.

@@beadaholique thank you. Here, in my country I cannot find that. And to pay shipping for a small quantity...
@@arboreea1312 I understand. I hope you can eventually find a similar sort of silk thread in your local stores, it's wonderful for stringing pearls.
Thank you so much for the video. Most helpful
Glad we could help! Thanks for watching!

It's just for added security so that the piece is really structurally sound in the end.
Very helpful! But don't you need a little glue on the beg and end of the new and old thread knot? Thank you!
The knots are quite strong but a little glue is always a good idea. If you have some go ahead and use it.
So helpful! Thanks for the info!
Awesome, video. Thank you so much.
Very good information!

You can definitely use a dab of glue on the knots - I do this often on knots in general just for an extra bit of security.
