It reminds me of how Rackham Vale created a setting from the artwork of Arthur Rackham.
I love this setting. Super unique and evocative. Exactly the kind of thing that I'm interested in.
OMG, Russ NIcholson was my fave from the OG AD&D books. Really the only one of the AD&D artists to influence my own art (i was in High School)

This seems like it might be something I could print out on parchment paper and hand to my players as a prop/handout, and then design an adventure around it (plugging in whatever system I might use, like DCC or BRP).
