Jethro Tull are a British progressive rock band formed in 1967. The group’s founder Ian Anderson plays flute & acoustic guitar & is the lead singer & quite a showman. They've had a lot of different members over the years. They had a lot of great songs such as "Thick As A Brick", "Aqualung", "Living In The Past", "Songs From The Wood", "A New Day Yesterday", "Cross-Eyed Mary", "Bungle In The Jungle", "Sweet Dream", "Life’s A Long Song" etc.
Exactly in everything, and if you allow me, Ian Anderson, in addition to being an inimitable and unique and self-taught artist, was a fabulous expressive storyteller, his concerts were a pure party with an exultant energy, very fun and theatrical.
Athlete ?? Let's try to sing, dance, jump, play a flute with its iconic pose with one leg and one arm raised, and go on and on and not fall faint.😅
Don't forget My God live !!!
I saw them at Madison Square Garden in mid-70s and Ian had scaffolding on stage as a prop and he climbed it while playing and it had to be 20 feet up easy and like a cat he was. He was playing up there for about a minute, then did a flip from there and landed on his feet and never missed a note in the song. I doubt I ever saw a better entertainer/musician/athlete perform as only he could. Truly amazing Man and Band.
Ian Anderson was never into the drugs scene. Yes 2023 and the band "Jethro Tull" is still touring.
Jethro Tull released a new album this year .... "Rokflote"
Saw Tull for the first time in 69 at the Baltimore Civic Center. MIND BLOWING! Ian Anderson and band were classically trained musicians who could play Bach, rock, or traditional English folk music. Anderson wore a Robin Hood type costume complete with tights and was a madman on stage. The guitarists were on either side of him in 3-piece suits and fedoras, in old gangster style. Out of Blackpool England, they were a contrast to all the other British blues bands. And yes...they could ROCK!
I'll never forget the moment when I realized that so many of these hard rock folks are classically trained and have a really solid musical background! I shouldn't have been surprised. How else do you write amazing music without it?!
D, you amaze me sometimes? Man-O-Man how could you NOT ever heard of Jethro Tull??? lmao Well, I guess times have changed, I am 70 yo after all. I could certainly recommend some great ole' classics. I believe 'Aqualung' to be their most iconic song? TY again D- Great reaction- Great request! 👍
I like this song... I already heard since 1973.... the singer Ian Anderson the best fluit player..... and have unique voice.
Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull.
Ian is still alive. Taught himself the flute. Is a multi-instrumentalist.
And wrote most of the music.
Was always very animated on stage.
We traveled from AZ to see them perform in Tampa Florida in 1976.
They don't have a bad song cross-eyed Mary and Aqualung would be good to watch. But with styles from fungal in the jungle, to Bourree by Mozart....
They really were in a class by themselves kind of like Steely Dan they have their own sound.
✌️
🤠🏞️🐂
Turn it up! This is a great song, great band, creative, musically brilliant and gets the blood going. More Jethro Tull please! The band is Jethro Tull, the man is Ian Anderson. Ian Anderson didn't do drugs to my knowledge.
Right. Anderson doesn't do drugs and doesn't allow it in the band. His original bass guitar player (Glenn Cornick) was let go for his partying lifestyle.
LOVE Tull! The most impressive thing for me is the flute playing. Phenomenal! The lyrics are hysterical too. "Got him by the b-lls"! LOLOL
Hi coming from Nottinghamshire i have seen Jethro tull live and it was freaking awesome i am now retired and I am still listening to this awesome music 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I'll just say this about Jethro Tull. I have 32 of their CDs.
You constantly look surprised. Jethro Tull is one of my favorite bands for many decades.
Great live concerts. Bursting Out is a great live album.
Songs from the wood and Heavy Horses are great albums.
The one and only, legendary, Jethro Tull. Great reaction. No drugs, they were a clean band.
Ian Anderson the wizard with the flute Jethro Tull is the bands name
Love Jethro Tull. Thanks for your reaction!
Aqualung, one of the best albums ever was done by Jethro Tull. I’m showing my age by saying that but that’s ok 😀
Ian was very outspoken anti-drug, even back in those days. He’s still playing around but with less hair 😂 sorry about the block graphics, didn’t notice that in that link
OMG Teenie Dancefloor Memories. Really liked your reaction.
Just listen to the crowd roar after the introduction, they knew what was coming!!
great reaction, thanks young bro!
Ian Anderson is the flautist, singer, acoustic guitarist, and resident minstrel. He is very against drugs and none of the rest of Jethro Tull used either. Lead guitarist was Martin Barre. I believe all are still active , many as solo artists.
Fun fact, Tony Iommi, the Black Sabbath guitarist was briefly in Jethro Tull
Ian Anderson as the best frontman outside of Mick ! The band Jethro Tull are legends both in concert and on their recordings!Ian Anderson was anti drugs. The hardest working guy in shoebox and did not believe that doing drugs was the way to go.
Believe it or not this is them a little past their prime Most of their best stuff is from the early 70s and Yes Ian nderson the lead singer is still touring they plaayed here l;ast month
The whole of 'Aqualung' album that this is from is superb, just like this is - well worth a listen. But they have lots of great albums (all a little different) - their latest came out this year, so yes still 'around'!!
wow remastering very impressive
The group is Jethro Tull the lead singer and flutist is Ian Anderson. Glad you did not stop it that is the way to react after.
You said "My God" several times. That also the title of one of their song you really should have a go at.
Their still around
No drugs ,just because they perform like that, doesn't mean drugs are involved.sad that people have that opinion, just a brilliant performance because the music matters and thats why ian Anderson never did them,it would jeapordise everything.
Geez, you youngsters - sigh Did you watch The Walking Dead? Ian Anderson is Rick Grime's father in law in real life. (the actor who played Rick Grimes) I still have - and use - an IPOD Shuffle and this is one of the songs on it - try Aqualung next. Sex, drugs, and rock n roll was my mantra.
did not know what ! Im sure he has seen walking dead, I know Rick well!, actually the entire show went to crap once Rick left lol
Still going
Next AQUALONG epic históric legendary classic rock world . The big ANDERSON FLUTE genius. Ian máster músic. Great band 70/80/90. top 5 un the world.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Aqualung is their most iconic song!!!
No flute in Aqualung
Anderson is very anti drug.
