She was annoying, but I had hope for her in part 1. Then, Shippuden came along and I was elated to see her growth, and tickled pink when she was awesome during the Rescue Gaara arc. I was so frustrated when her progress went BACKWARDS during the Tenchi Bridge incident, and I hadn't cared for her since. Her outright trying to romantically manipulate Naruto later on was the point of no return.
Yeah this is one of the most frustrating thing about this character. The great thing about time skips is it allows characters to make exponential leaps in progression and if were just looking at the kazekage retrieval arc that is exactly what happened with Sakura. Then it was like never mind I actually didn't grow that much. It was like watching a completely different character from arc to arc and it did not make too much sense on why her character should behave that way.
She should NEVER have been a ninja. She was willing to and offering to leave the village and to join a a psychotic traitorous terrorist just to be without someone who hated her
I agree she was taken over by her emotions there . She let her emotions get her the best . And on top of that when they were 12 naruto promised her that he would bring sasuke back , and he didn't and all were injured critically and then sakura felt bad , and they all trained under respective sannins. And as naruto kept trying to get sasuke back in shippuden he was constantly getting hurt in that process related to sasuke , she felt heartbroken by thinking naruto is being hurt because of the promise he made her , so all these combined their other friends like sai , shikamaru gaara all people now tell sakura that she shouldn't be this selfish indirectly and that how as all nations are trying to kill sasuke naruto would get hurt even more to try to save sasuke . So all these combined she did what she did . We should show some compassion I guess , but due to that they got to meet sasuke near that bridge .
When u get bullied in childhood your self-esteem & self image gets damaged, & you start to hate yourself, to counter that you try to please other people to help yourself feel better & not only that but you can go above & beyond for them This is what sakura was
I personally really love Sakura because she is such a flawed character. She has a hell of a lot more depth than most of the YA protagonists I was reading back when Twilight and all the dystopian books were popular. Most of them were blank slates to project your own personality on. My biggest issue is that she ended up with Sasuke. By the end of the series, she should’ve had more self-respect than that, especially given how much she’s grown since she was the annoying 12 year old with a massive crush on a boy.
Thanks for watching and commenting Dannietea! Reaper think's Sakura had a lot of potential but not too much depth. The reason being most of her traits and "characterization" were never really explored essentially making them just bullet points. Reaper sees Sakura as less of a flawed character and more of a character with flaws. The former being characters with built in obstacles and hang ups they need to contended with and potentially overcome as the story progresses ( See our character analysis on Matt Ishuda for a good example #shameless plug) And the later being characters that have things wrong with them for indeterminant purpose. And yes one of the biggest reason for this is her "relationship" with Sasuke. It would have been fine if she struggled with it, explored it in some way, or even walked away from it. Then maybe somewhere down the line Sasuke goes chasing after her, repented and earned her love and trust back. But No. Her lack of a journey indicates that she's a door mat. She's feels the same way about Sasuke whether there making fun memories on missions, or when he's threatening to destroy her home. We would have liked to explore this topic further in the analysis but it would encroach on a lot of speculative points and were not yet sure if we can hold an audience for an hour +
So me my problem is everything after sasori. Her finally getting a win is a nice payoff to part 1 and a START to an actual story for her in part 2 but they don't do much with her afterwards and she ultimately ends up in the exact same position she was in literally everytime sasuke and naruto almost kill eachother, unable to even get involved. I can see someone saying she's overhated but the pivot to saying she's a good character is just wrong.
Very good point Mr. Protagonist! Since she was completely powerless to stop them before and all she could do was cry to no avail it would have been nice to see her take a bigger role in there conflict since for all practical purposes it did involve the 3 of them. Even if she couldn't stop them physically maybe she could have given a heartfelt speech about how much she cared about them or something. And maybe instead of the two essentially having a fight to the death they made it into a winner takes all duel.
Love your A I voice mocking Sakura simps. To be clear I DO enjoy well written characters, male or female. I really wanted more screen time for characters like Anko Miterashi and Yugao or Guren. I do acknowledge that Sakura has a few good things but sadly the bad outweighs the good. And power alone doesn’t make a character good. Marvel took Carol Danvers, a female Avenger with alcohol problem and suddenly gifted her with Superman level power while having Carol be so arrogant. It’s not the strength or the power that determine how well a character is loved , its the heart. That is why Rock Lee and even Tenten are much more loved than Sakura.
Wow Guren! You watched all the filler then lol! She's actually one of my favorite non canon characters in the series. Good points and agreed! Making characters compelling and consistent goes a lot farther than making them strong. One of the reason Reaper thinks Boruto is trash.

Sakura is a victim of failure to reach her potential

This is a good video, but I think your videos will be even better if you worked on your diction and making yourself easier to understand
