But wouldnt you still need a CORS subscription to run your base in a rover mode, store the coordinates and then set them as your base coordinates? otherwise you would sitll need to set up base on a known point. Or am i missing something.
You don't need a CORS subscription to run in base and rover mode! There are multiple different ways you can transform to a known coordinate system without a CORS network. You can use existing monuments and tie into them with the use of a localization. You can also set your own control via a static measurements. Finally, you can collect static at the base while surveying and use a service like OPUS or NRCAN-PPP to process the point. You can then transform the data after the fact. (I may be missing a couple of other methods, but these are the ones off the top of my head). A lot of areas have no CORS coverage so you have to use one of these methods.
@@benchmarkequipment Do you have instructions somewhere for this: "Finally, you can collect static at the base while surveying and use a service like OPUS or NRCAN-PPP to process the point. You can then transform the data after the fact."?
Hi Benjamin, you bet! Here is a video on collecting static while performing RTK: ruclips.net/video/LypZwHayY9Q/видео.html. And here is a video on processing the data after the fact: ruclips.net/video/5NvtdaYDkAY/видео.html. Let me know if you have any questions.@@benjaminmason2264

Base & Rover! Not even close! Its more accurate and no subscriptions! Unless its in an area where no would be a fool to leave a Base by itself!
