✋There is no need for trolling the candidate ke 'how could you not know this XYZ answer?' Following are the reasons: It's not because of his 'lack of knowledge' but mostly because 1) nervousness of giving mock interview for the first time. First mock interview of most candidate is similar to this only. On other RUclipss, you may have seen very polished rankers interviews. It doesnt mean they were 'polished' from DAY1. Everyone learns and improves from the feedback of their mock interviews. I'm certain Mr. Sujit Shankar has done the same, and hence the selection at Rank 122. 2) if you mention something in DAF-form, you shd prepare it well. He wrote "I published a research paper on blood phylogeny." And one of the panelist turns out to be a professor emiratus of Biochemistry. So, he grilled the candidate in-depth (24:20). Perhaps candidate gets nervous "my interview is not going well." → Then, although I (Mrunal) am asking basic questions from his maths optional (30:00), but because of candidate's 'mental hangover of the blood research paper Qs', he makes mistakes. So, It's not because his 'lack of knowledge', but nervousness. 📣Lessons ✔️1) Few mistakes in interview Qs doesn't mean REJECTION. Do not carry the mental hangover of the previous panelist's Q&A to the next panellist's questions. ✔️2) Whatever you mention in DAF-form, you should prepare it well. ✔️3) UPSC Panel/ Mock Interview Panels' Questions may appear 'random GK questions' to outsiders, but there is a pattern to it. Majority of the questions are based on your DAF-form and/or very high profile Current Affairs/GS only. and even if you make a few mistakes, it doesn't mean rejection as long as panel gets convinced that you are a sincere person, and have officer like qualities.
