  • How can I quickly pull together a creamy casserole with a satisfying crunch? Betty Crocker’s answer: Zippy Beef Casserole.
This easy casserole comes together in a zip with ground beef, noodles and cream of mushroom soup as the main ingredients. Ketchup and bell pepper give this dish a zippy tangy taste too! To dress up this casserole we added a ring of crushed potato chips around the edge of the dish, which gives a satisfying salty crunch when paired with the creamy noodles.
Plus, we explore the origins of the potato chip, and Frito-Lay’s rise power with some addicting advertising.
    Happy Homemaking!

I love all the little factoids you toss into the videos! It's always nice to really learn something new even if I won't make the recipe!

Hi Melinda! This is such a fun way to dress up a casserole. You never fail to not just amuse me but also to educate me as well. Now I’m interested in how different foods came to be. Your channel is an absolute gem, keep up the great work! ❤ (red heart for Betty) 😂

My sister and I used to babysit a little girl two houses down when her parents would go out to dinner. The mom ALWAYS made this casserole for us to serve to her daughter and us. I still remember the taste and YES it was very ketchup and bell pepper tastes forward.

Another great video! Thanks, Melinda. Your research on food origins is such a good add. I'm thinking that when the recipe was developed they would have shredded their own cheese and wouldn't have had to deal w the anti-caking coating that keeps pre-shedded cheese from melting well.

I think I might try this one, with a few adjustments (I think some broccoli would be really good in it). I love that you provide history and other facts as you go, it's really interesting. Thanks! x

I think Fritos corn chips would work too.

Gotta admit, that looks disgusting. I think it took a wrong turn at Catsup. But it's fun to watch it being made!
