In early 2018, Fox announced the show was going to be cancelled after season 5. This caused outrage among the fan base, with even Mark Hamill being upset. Fortunately, since this show was produced by Universal Television, NBC picked it up for its last three seasons.
I also read later NBC had to pass on it the first time, and really regretted that for whatever reason so they were more than happy to pick it back up. Even with the outrage it happened pretty damn quick. Either way, glad they did.
Everytime I see the first of these episodes, when that one member of the selection committee says to try the crabcakes, "real crab, big chunks!" the Baltimore girl in me is immediately like "the way they should be!"
When I first watched the puzzle episode, I was actually surprised that I was actually able to unscramble the "Sad Anus Loser, I Go In" puzzle to "Dangerous Liaisons", even though I've never seen the movie (though I had heard of it). Something in my brain just clicked in that moment that I actually checked to see if I was right and I was surprised that I had nailed it.

I love that not only did Amy get to do her funny ass dork dance but that they also cast Amy’s real life husband as the puzzle master. TRUE STORY: So when Melissa Fumero was a teenager she was obsessed with the music video for the song Honey by Mariah Carey, in particular she was in love with the man at the end of the video who sweeps Mariah off her feet. So after nearly 2 months of dating he one day casually brought up the fact that he was in a Mariah music video, to which Melissa FREAKED THE HELL OUT!😂😂😂 As for 5x16; One of the top 10 best cold opens in all Brooklyn 99! It looks like it’s gonna be a Wiley Coyote style trap for a pigeon but then it turns into a dark Robot Chicken sketch🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I feel like this is why double reactions aren't as good. They usually forget what happened in the first episode and the discussion after just isn't as good. I hope they don't drop the show like RTTV did. It sucks that they don't love it the way Blind Wave did

From what i've heard, this is the last mention of nutri-boom & then never mentioned again apparently got taken down by fbi in the background. Lucky the b99 season didn't end with this season but that may be the reason why they forgot to continue this
Yah my guess is with the studio change things got dropped and shuffled around. The nutriaboom wasn’t that big so it got left. Though I still wish we could have gotten some kind of resolution
Trying to "get" to appreciate these - 'verbal diarrhoea' dialogue - but, still *loving your comments* at the end of each one! 😅Though I respect the 'idea' behind it! Perhaps, guessing that "not being interrupted in mid sentence, by being admonished as a "time waster" - meaning the listener's "time!" is *not an issue!* For my ears, grasping 'jokes' to the "Uncle Phil" or man-servant, one-liners type characters, from Fresh Prince type sitcoms for example is simpler😉 Also, Laverne and Shirley, and Three's Company - especially - Don Knotts humor, may be even an acquired taste, but was superbly written and delivered😊
